“What can I do for you, Lycan Hector? I was too surprised when they informed me that you're here to visit me.” Leah looked at the table, remembering how Richelle described Lycan Hector in her books. She was too in love with him, and her heart clenched when she recalled the part where they tried to elope even though Lycan Hector was the Lycan at that time.
Lycan Hector moved closer to the chair where Leah wanted him to sit. He crossed his arms, and there was no expression on his face.
“I want to talk to you. PRIVATELY.” Lycan Hector didn't like Almera hearing everything, which made Almera scowl. He glanced at Almera, who wasn't moving as long as she didn't have an order for her.
“I'm waiting for my Alpha's command. You're maybe the Lycan King, but I'm connected to my Alpha, and that is Alpha Leah.” Almera was too devoted to her Alpha; as long as she didn't receive an order from Leah, she wouldn't be scared because she trusted her too much.
“Lycan Hector, can you please explain why I should talk to you? You have the desire to kill me, and we both know that you want my land too severely. I think you will understand why I'm hesitant to talk with you privately.” Leah shook her head, and she was waiting for his reaction.
She wanted to talk to Lycan Hector because of Richelle, but if Richelle weren't part of his life, she would not want to meet him. She respected Richelle for adopting her even though, in the end, the Lycan would be mad at her.
“Whenever I saw you, my anger grew even more.” He spoke. Almera growled when she heard what the Lycan's told me.
“I could see your father. I hate him so much. I trusted him, but he chose the Red Moon Pack over me. He's Richelle's best friend. But I won't defend myself for what I did to your parents. I know it's wrong, but when I was in that situation, it was the best idea to get my revenge on them.”
“But I found out that your parents weren't the culprit of my son.” Leah stopped herself to show how surprised she was. She wanted to know everything, but was she ready to know all of this?
“I found that the true culprit was my wife and her man. But Anaya's mother helped them too.” Lycan whispered. He closed his eyes, and the pain that he was trying to hide was too evident in his eyes.
“Do you have proof that you're telling me the truth? I hope you aren't offended, Lycan Hector, but your hatred was too much, and it's not easy for me to believe in your words.”
“Leah, I know you all know what I'm talking about. I don't need proof because I found out you're searching for the truth. Yeah, I did something, too. I'm not here to cleanse my freaking hands and act innocent here. I admitted my mistakes, and days passed. I couldn't sleep, and I think about her always.” The Lycan stood up. He knew, and he felt that Leah would believe in him. He thought that this was his last chance to correct everything. Because of him, Luna does everything nasty behind his back because he doesn't love and appreciate her. All he thought was Richelle, and Luna didn't like it.
But he did his best to fulfill his husband's duties to her, he tried to love and appreciate her despite what she did, but Luna didn't think he was doing his best.
“You don't need to blame yourself because of what happened. I'm sure you didn't like that you're doing that." Lycan Hector stopped after he heard what his son's mate had told him. He agreed to her deep inside him, but he won't admit it in front of her.
“Richelle won't like it when I'm blaming myself. How did you know that?” He couldn't stop himself from asking Leah.
“Do you want to know how I understood why Richelle disliked it? Well, she had a book, and she wrote everything about you.” Lycan Hector nodded, but he felt unhappy when he remembered Richelle was too busy writing in her book. She even hides the book from him because she tells him that it's a major secret. She was happy whenever she wrote in her book while looking at him. It's a big book that she always brings wherever they go somewhere.
“Oh, that's the big book. I remembered how she hid the book whenever I tried to check what she wrote for me.” Lycan Hector was full of sadness in his tone. He tightly shut his eyes. He couldn't forget everything about Richelle because she was part of him. She was his other half.
Leah took the book and gently put it on the table. Lycan Hector was surprised when he saw the big book and Richelle owned it.
“I felt terrible when I read this book. But I don't have a choice because I need the answer about the disease.”
“Is it okay if I touch this book? I want to see this, but I don't know where they put this book.” When Richelle died, he tried to search for the book, but someone wanted to hide it from him.
“You can't read this book. You need my blood to make you read this book. You know this book was for a healer.” Lycan felt miserable that he didn't have a chance to read what Richelle wrote for him. He hesitated to ask Leah for help, and his pride prevented him from talking to her even more.
Leah took the needle to create a wound on her finger. She squeezed her finger, and when she saw blood coming out into her finger, she touched the book.
The book glowed, and the leaf logo brightened too. She opened the book for Lycan Hector, and she let him see the last page of the book. It was Lycan Hector whom Richelle drew.
Lycan Hector was too busy reading a book while sitting comfortably at the tree. She was surprised when she saw this; she didn't know that Richelle had this talent. Aside from healing someone using a leaf, she could draw too.
“You're on the last page. Do you see it?" Lycan Hector blinked, and he stopped himself from crying. He remembered this; this was the time when he was too busy to study everything for their pack because his parents wanted him to manage the group. Richelle helped him when he needed her, and he was confused about what Richelle was doing at that time because she was too severe and focused on writing the book. He felt mad that Richelle didn't have enough time with him, and he couldn't forget that they did that thing, and the forest was the witness to how they loved each other.
That's the best moment when he's with Richelle. The first time does, a lusty and passionate pleasure to each other.
“I read everything in this book. And I think you should take this because it's her letter to you. I know you loved her, and I trusted you with her possession.” Leah coughed when she felt her tone crack. She felt that Richelle would be happy once Lycan Hector took the book.
“But, please take care of this book. If you want me to use my blood, it's alright for me.”
“Why are you treating me like this? Have you forgotten I was one of the culprits when your parents died?”
“I won't forget that part, but I'm not claiming a thing that doesn't even mine, to begin with. This book isn't mine, it's Richelle owned, but it contains many letters for you, so could you read it?”
“I don't want to read how mad she was, especially when I did something wrong against your parents.”
“She didn't even curse you here in this book. I think she loved writing a poem for you. Take this. It's yours.”
“Are you sure that it's mine now? Because once I take this book, you can't take it back.”
“Of course, I'm sure, Lycan Hector.” Leah stopped smiling, but her eyes were moist when she noticed that Lycan Hector's hand was trembling when he touched the book. He even placed it on his chest, and there's a lot of deep emotion in his eyes.
He closed his eyes again while he was breathing too heavily. Leah avoided her eyes when she witnessed how emotional the Lycan was because of the book. She didn't want him to feel uncomfortable, so she shut her mouth and gave the Lycan time to think more.
“I went here because of Amoux. He wanted to be with you.” The Lycan whispered.
“He didn't remember everything. And, please don't think that I was the one who did bad to him because I didn't even do anything against him.”
“I know that you aren't doing anything to my son. If it's alright for you, I want you to be back in my pack.” Leah glanced at Almera after she heard those words. They both looked at each other because they thought that they might listen to them wrong.
“She's the Alpha of this pack. And we need her, too.” Almera quickly disagreed with Lycan's request. She pledged that she would do anything to protect her, and why would she agree to what he wished for?
“I want her to get back in my pack. I need her help to remove the traitor in my pack fully. I have plans.” The Lycan wasn't hesitant to tell everything to Leah after what she did for him.
“The Nightwalker needed their successor, and that's Amoux. He might be in danger once he goes back to our pack.” The Lycan informed them.
“Leah, I know that I did something wrong to you. And I'm willing to risk my life for my son. I promised that I won't do anything bad to you.” The Lycan embraced the book too tightly.
“I don't think we would believe your promise, Lycan Hector.” Almera's protectiveness toward Leah turned on, and she knew that once Leah accepted the Lycan's favor, she wouldn't rest because of her worry about her.
“I am pregnant,” Leah admitted. The Lycan almost went out to the chair after he heard that Amoux's mate was pregnant. He finally became a grandfather!
“Okay, congratulations.” The Lycan happily congratulated Leah, which shocked her. She thought the Lycan would ask her who her child's father was. But based on his reaction, she realized that the Lycan knew that Amoux was the father. She was disappointed.
“Why are you two looking at me like that? Did you think that I would believe in you once you told me that the baby wasn't Amoux's child? Oh, come on. My son is the future Lycan, and Leah was too different, not because of being an Alpha, but because the truth is she's carried a Lycan pup.” The Lycan shrugged his shoulders, and his expression was full of happiness. He felt excited to have a grandchild.
He couldn't change the time, and Amoux wasn't a child. He might need a child to have his peace.
“There's a difference if the woman was carrying a normal wolf. You're shining, and did you even glance at the mirror that your eyes changed? It's because you have my grandchild.” Lycan Hector smirked and felt proud that he didn't fall into Leah's trap.
“We didn't even know about that? Amoux knew that?” Leah couldn't stop herself from asking. She felt that Amoux acted like he believed it was Alpha Brandon's child.
“It's only the Lycan who knew about that. I don't think that my son knows about it because he didn't have a child, but he finally had one.”
“Oh my! What is happening?” Almera whispered before she stomped her feet.
“Leah, I won't be mad at you. I know that you're carrying my grandchild. When I first saw you, I was confused that your aura had changed. It's because they are shifting into a Lycan because of the baby that you are carrying.”
