Chapter I want to be happy

“How is that possible? Did you mean that I'm turning into a Lycan?” Leah was dumbfounded by what she found out. She thought that Lycan Hector would be reckless, but it turned out that he was watching her.

Lycan Hector laughed when he heard Leah's shocking words. Of course, it's the Lycan who knew about that.

“I wish I could explain everything to you, but you're much stronger because of the pup you're carrying. Amoux will be happy that you're pregnant with his child.” Lycan Hector was pleased by the sudden announcement. He stopped himself from smirking.

“Okay, if you want me to do you a favor. You must do what I want you to do.” Leah muttered. She tapped the table and looked at the Lycan using her severe eyes.

”Oh, why should I do that?” The Lycan asked. He shook his head, and he thought that he was sure that Amoux would be mad at him again once he hid what he found out. He promised he would be a good father to him; he wanted to act and guide him as his father, not the Lycan King of the werewolves.

“Lycan, I won't sugarcoat everything that I wanted to say. At first, I thought that you were using Amoux to get my land. Second, I don't trust him enough; I want to see his true intentions.” Leah nodded, and she acted like she was thinking. She was overconfident that the Lycan wouldn't hurt her because he was in her pack.

“I want to see if he changed. You know how immature your son was. He may be a successor, but I'm the Alpha. Aside from that, I want him to ask for forgiveness from my pack for killing the three Alphas.”

“He needs to earn my member's respect and trust. I want him to face what he did. Is it alright for you?” Leah added.

Lycan Hector didn't react. He watched her intensely, and he coughed when he realized why Leah wanted Amoux to prove himself.

“Okay, so you want him to face the consequences of his actions? I'm not against what you said, and I understand, but I did something wrong, too. Amoux isn't the only one who did something nasty to you; me too.” Lycan felt terrible when he thought about Amoux. He was seeing Richelle to Leah, and he pitied him secretly.

He realized that Leah grew up with Richelle, and that's why she wanted to do what was right even though, in the end, someone important to her would face the consequences.

“Richelle isn't your mother, but you grew up with her. I understand why you wanted to do this. But I don't want to be a hypocrite to my son. I want to face the consequences of what I did too.”

“It's up to you. I will support you if you do that. I don't want you to think I'm forcing you to do this.” Leah uttered.

Almera scowled. She realized she wanted to give Leah privacy with the Lycan because they were talking about their personal information. She sighed; she just wanted to make sure about her safety.

“Great, let's talk about my plans. I know that you won't fall into their trap.” Lycan cleared his throat. He may have loathed Leah's father, but he didn't predict that his son would be mated to Leah.

“Daddy? W-What are you doing here?” Amoux stammered when he saw the Lycan go out to Leah's office. He was about to hide the food he had prepared for Leah because it was all burned.

“Did you cook?” Lycan didn't bother himself to answer his question. Instead, he moved closer and chuckled when he saw what Amoux cooked for Leah.

“O-Of course not; I don't even know how to cook!” Amoux denied. He blushed in embarrassment when Lycan Hector arched his brow. He sighed deeply when he realized that it was too useless to refuse it because the Lycan knew it in the first place. He tried to cook for Leah, and the cook was too tired to help him. He wanted to eat with her, and he brought a lot of courage to build his confidence.

He knew that there was a big chance that Leah would laugh at his ass, but at least he made her laugh.

“Okay, It's me who cooks this food.” He bowed his head when Lycan Hector chuckled at him again.

“Amoux, you shouldn't bring her food like that. Did you think he would accept you if you prepared her coal food?” Lycan was about to touch the fried food, but Amoux moved away and glared at him. He smirked when he saw Amoux's irritation but stopped when he remembered something.

“Daddy, have you forgotten that you did this to your mate?” Amoux grinned. Lycan Hector scratched his forehead in dismay. Aside from that, Amoux was his carbon copy; he couldn't believe that even in cooking skills, they were the same.

“We're different because I know how to cook now. You didn't know how to prepare a simple meal.” Lycan Hector wanted to save himself.

“Yeah, right. But Richelle laughed at your ass when she saw the food you prepared for her.” Amoux sneered.

Lycan massaged his nape. He wondered why Amoux was too stubborn, but he later admitted that their attitude was all the same. He felt sad when he remembered that he and Amoux weren't close when he was a child. What was important to him at that time was to do his revenge on Leah's parents.

“Okay, stop humiliating me. Did you forget that I'm the Lycan?” He widened his eyes at Amoux as if he was trying to intimidate him.

“You aren't in our pack, so it means you're my father. What did you do to Leah's office? Did you tell her about what we talked about?” Amoux whispered. The Lycan sighed because they had a deal with each other. Leah wanted him to act as if he disliked her for getting pregnant by someone's child.

“I talked to her to get back on our pack as we planned, but there's a problem.” Lycan Hector flashed an irritation on his face. He understood why Leah wanted to see Amoux's intention.

“What's the problem? Did you two fight each other?” Amoux was almost out of breath when he asked the Lycan. He was too worried that Leah might kick him out of her pack.

“She told me that she's pregnant. And you're not the father. Are you sure that you want her now?” Lycan's forehead creased when Amoux didn't answer him.

“Amoux, she's pregnant by another man. I don't think it will be worth it if you continue to mate with her. I suggest you reject her; you can find a woman who wasn't carrying another man's child.” Lycan gnashed his teeth, and he breathed out.

“I accept her child. I don't want any woman aside from her. You didn't learn to love my mother, so how did you advise me like that?” Amoux frustratedly replied.

When Lycan asked Amoux, it was the time when Leah was about to come out into her office. Almera was behind her. She stopped when she heard Lycan Hector and felt her heartbeat race when Amoux answered his father with full of conviction.

“If that wasn't my child, it's alright for me. After all, it was Leah's child. I love her, and I'm willing to accept her and even her child. If I loved my mate, I would love her child, too. It's alright.” Amoux gasped and gritted his teeth. He was more annoyed when his father wanted him to stop what he was doing. He can't live without Leah by his side.

“You're telling me that because you aren't in that situation now. How will you feel if the baby looks like the father?” Lycan wanted Amoux to believe that he didn't wish for Leah after he found everything.

“Daddy, I don't care if it's Alpha Brandon's face. She's my mate, and I'm not perfect. I was the reason why she got pregnant with another man's child. I'm a scumbag.” Amoux admitted. He held the tray so right as if he was trying to get the courage to debate with his father.

“I can't believe you're willing to do everything about her. Are you crazy, Amoux? What will others think when they find out that you're not the father of her baby?”

“It's not my problem anymore. You shouldn't think about that because I will be the father. Please, I thought you were going to support me.”

Lycan shook his head. He wanted to tell Amoux it was his child, but he couldn't break Leah's trust.

“Okay, I won't say anything anymore. I don't want you to treat the child differently once you have a baby.” Lycan sighed in defeat. Deep inside, he was too proud of Amoux because his intention was pure.

“I can't believe that I heard all of what Amoux said. Lyca was the best actor.” Almera said, using the mind link. She even gasped in surprise, and she wanted to pinch Leah's waist in happiness.

“Are you happy that he still wanted to be with you even though you carried someone's child?” She added. She smirked when she saw Leah trying to hide her emotions.

“I want to be happy, but I can't stop myself from thinking that maybe, he was acting right now.” Leah was still in doubt about Amoux's intention for her. She was happy at first because Amoux still wanted her after that, but there was a part of her heart that didn't want to believe Amoux.

“What should you do next? And what about the disease?” Almera moved close to Leah, so she could peek at what Amoux and the Lycan were doing.

“We should ask Hannah. She was the one which we needed. But I want to find out who was helping her.” Leah had a feeling that Hannah wasn't alone. She knew that Hannah had a companion in her pack that's why she hadn't still come back to her pack.

“I can help you with that. I promised that I would find her companions here in this pack. But are you done checking yourself? Are you contaminated with that disease?”

“I still don't know, Almera. I will find this out, but first, I want you to talk with Adam. He's a great help to you in searching for the traitor.” Almera nodded her head. She wanted to ask more when they heard Amoux step.

They acted like they were about to leave Leah's office.

“Did you eat your food? I prepared something for you.” Amoux happily informed Leah, which made Almera frown when she saw burning food on the tray.
