Adam felt his heart crash when he watched Karen walk away from him. He closed his eyes as he thought that he wouldn't need to chase after what she did to him. She's the daughter of his parent's culprit. He couldn't believe the Moon Goddess would give him a mate and play him.
“What are you doing, Adam? Chase her!” Leah screamed. Her eyes were bloodshot, and a tear came out from her eyes. She couldn't believe that Adam didn't do anything to stop Karen.
“Adam, what are you thinking? She may be their daughter, but it doesn't mean that it's her sin too! She didn't do anything wrong to you. She loves you.” Leah added. She wanted to smack her cousin's forehead in annoyance. She couldn't believe that he had let her go without even thinking if that was what he wanted.
She was about to follow Karen, but Adam grabbed her hand. She glared at him, but her expression softened when she saw his painful expression. She felt guilty for not thinking about his feelings and not comforting him like he was doing to her.
“I will follow her. I know that she will go straight to our house.” Adam walked, and she started walking too.
“How sure are you that she's going to your house? Adam, I know that you're hurt, and I don't want you to think that I'm invalidating your feelings. I understand why you're reacting like this, but what about her and your baby?” She felt worried that Karen might reject her mate. After all, she liked Karen as her cousin.
“Because her things were still in my house. You don't need to worry about us; I will do everything to be with her. I'm sorry if I acted like that; my parents were my most sensitive part in—”
“You shouldn't apologize to me. You should apologize to Karen. She's the one who needs your apology. Adam, I know it's too hard, and it's painful for you. But it would help if you didn't treat her like that because her parents were the killer of your parents.” Leah tapped his shoulder and didn't follow him when they returned to the pack.
Though she's watching Adam walking to their home, she hopes they will be fine after they talk.
“Adam, you know what you can do to Karen. Why don't you pleasure her? It's the best way to help a pregnant woman.” Leah suggested using the mind link. She saw how Adam was stunned and slowly raised his eyes as if he was informing her that he had received her message.
She saw Almera walking closer to her while Lycan Hector was still standing outside. Amoux was with his father, and they were talking about other things. They stopped when they finally reached them.
“What happened to them? Did your cousin find out about Karen?” Leah was shocked. She didn't know how she would react because she was surprised that the Lycan knew about Karen.
“I know her because of her parents. Don't worry; I know they were both fine.” Lycan Hector added. He glanced at Amoux, who didn't look at Leah because he was still ashamed of himself for cooking a burned meal, but Leah was shocked when he didn't even gaze at her.
“Lycan, how did you know about Karen?” Leah asked, even though her eyes were still on Amoux.
“I know her because our family was close. Aside from that, she was the one that Amoux needed to marry, but because she ran away to their pack, she was replaced by Anaya.” Leah didn't know how to react; she wanted to ask if it was Amoux that Karen needed to marry, but she didn't want them to think that she wanted everything to know!
“And I discovered that her parents want them to marry my best friend.” Lycan Hector changed his expression when he mentioned the word ‘best friend,’ and Leah saw it.
“Thank you, Lycan, for informing me about this. I will tell this to Adam.” Leah sighed.
“Not a problem. You know I liked Karen for Amoux because she's a fighter. That's why she's the successor of their pack. Her parents knew how capable she was of managing their group. Aside from that, she's kind. She helped others, and I hope your cousin won't let her go because he will lose like a hidden gem.” Lycan Hector crossed his arms and glanced at Amoux again.
Meanwhile, Adam stared at the door; he didn't know what he would do. He was nervous because this was the first time that they had fought. They always understand each other; they're both responsible, and that's why he was more worried. He didn't let Leah see how nervous he was. He secretly blamed himself for being an asshole to his mate.
He opened the door, and he was thankful that his brother wasn't home yet. He knew he was too busy in school, so he quickly went to their room. He saw Karen packing her things, and she kept crying so loudly.
Some of her clothes were wet, but Adam was too hurt to watch her sobbing.
“What are you doing?” Adam gritted his teeth. He wanted to stop her, but why his question was too dumb. He was packing her things, but still, he dared to ask her like that.
“I will move back to my original pack. I will communicate with you once I successfully give birth to our baby.” Karen sniffed. She took a napkin and wiped her tears. She turned her back to him and took some things from the closet.
“K-Karen,” Adam called her. He was hurt when he saw how hurt she was while packing her things. What should he do to be with her in the end? He later realized that he couldn't live without her.
“I'm sorry if my parents killed them. I told you at. First, I didn't know about it, but when I learned it from my father, you didn't know how shocked I was. I wanted to tell you everything, but I can't because I don't want you to get mad at me or reject me. I'm scared of how you will react once you discover everything.”
“But I understand your reaction because you're hurt, Adam. I understand you, but it fucking hurts.” Karen sobbed again while she picked her clothes in the closet. She folded it and put it inside her luggage.
“I'm blaming myself for being weak. When it comes to you, I'm scared to take a risk. I'm afraid to tell you everything, and I decided to stress myself out.” She added. She closed her luggage and put it down on the floor.
She remembered how they had met each other. Adam was new to their pack, and she was the one who was managing the adoption in the Red Moon pack. When she saw how attractive he was, especially his green eyes, she realized she was too smitten with him.
They both find each other, making love in the forest, and she's a virgin then. She gave herself to him because she knew that Adam was a good man, especially since he loved and cared for his brother.
Adam gave her a reason to continue her life since she was forced to marry someone. She promised she would fight for their love, but now, she doesn't know anymore. How could she battle if Adam doesn't want her anymore? She was too hurt, and aside from that, she was too emotional because of her pregnancy hormones.
Karen stopped as if waiting for him to defend himself and comforted her. She was waiting for his action, for she knew that Adam wouldn't be in front of her if he didn't have something to say to her.
But minutes passed, and Adam just lowered his head which made her disappointed. She thought that he would stop her from leaving him, and she felt that he still wanted her even though her parents were the true killer of his parents.
“Goodbye, Adam. Thank you for everything.” Her tone cracked, and her tears continued falling when she took the luggage. She went to the door, but she was surprised when Adam grabbed her hand. Her luggage fell, and she found herself on the bed while Adam was on top of her. She moaned when Adam claimed her lips and started giving her a lustful kiss that they both didn't do since they made love.
“A-Adam!” She shouted when she felt his hand come inside her clothes, and it started roaming to her body. Adam quickly spread her legs and ripped off her clothes. After ripping her clothes and undies, he moved back to her top and sucked her lips as if there was no tomorrow. Karen's tears slowly fell as she responded to his kiss, which made Adam stop. He quickly wiped her tears and kissed her eyes.
“I'm sorry for being an asshole,” Adam murmured. His hands began touching every part of her body. She moaned when she felt his readiness, which made her center moist. She bit her lips to prevent herself from moaning.
“I'm sorry, Karen. I'm sorry if I acted like that.” Adam pleaded. His hands were touching his folds, and he gnashed his teeth when he felt her wetness. “Shit! You're too wet!”
