Chapter I'm disappointed in you

“Leah,” Karen cried, even more, when she saw Leah near them. She gasped when she saw how disappointed Leah was.

“Answer me, Karen! I want you to answer me. Are you the one who told Hannah to hide?” Leah shouted as her tears flowed down her cheeks. She tried to maintain her composure but she failed. She trusted Karen too much even though she was doubting her.

“N-No, I'm not part of them.” Karen quickly denied it. She wanted to tell the truth but she realized that everything that she will say we're all useless.

“If you aren't one of them, then why didn't you inform me about this? I thought you were treating me as your friend. I thought you aren't only my Beta but my sister aside from Almera.”

“I want to be honest with you two, but I'm scared because I know that you will get mad at me. Aside from that, I decided to act alone. I want to know their plans but I don't even know that they hired a werewolf here. Okay, I went back here after Amoux attacked this pack because my mother and my sister wanted me to put a disease inside you but I didn't do it.” Karen explained. She was hoping that the two believed in her because she didn't know what she was going to do if they thought that she was lying.

“They gave me a lot of diseases but I threw them somewhere else. I don't even know that they put a lot of eyes here. That's why they don't trust me anymore.” Karen added. Leah gasped after she heard everything. So it means Karen was the traitor to this pack?

“I don't have a choice but to obey them at first because I want to marry someone. But, whenever you treated me right, my conscience hit me. I don't want to do that because I don't even see a problem with you, and I'm willing to marry that man instead of poisoning you.”

Adam was taken aback by what he heard. He didn't know that Karen was about to marry someone. If he knew about that, he might not have marked her from the moment that he saw her.

But there's a hidden jealousy in his heart. He loved Karen too much, he wanted to be with her and build their family.

“So, what about your upcoming marriage?” Leah decided to believe whatever Karen had told her. She knew that she was telling the truth, and there was nothing wrong if she believed in her.

“It's still coming. That's why I'm hiding that I'm pregnant. My sister may have looked innocent, but she was not. She could kill someone without hesitation, that's what she tried to do with me.” Adam growled in jealousy after he heard that Karen continued her upcoming mate bond even though he was her mate.

“That's why I don't want you all to stress yourself because of me.”

Leah nodded. She was thinking about what she did to Karen's mother. But she realized what the Lycan had told her. She's the upcoming successor of the healers, and Anaya's mother felt threatened as long as she lived.

As long as she lived, she always had a big chance to change into someone.

“Okay, I believe in you. Maybe, we should talk about this in our pack house. I wanted to know everything. I don't want us all to die because the other paci wants to smash all away.” Leah walked towards her. She almost stepped back because she was scared that Leah might hurt her.

“You know that I won't kill someone without a valid reason, and I want you to remember that you have a child in your tummy.” Karen nodded. She glanced at Adam, who was avoiding his eyes.

“I will understand if you want to reject me today.”

“And, okay.” Adam coldly replied which made Karen widen her eyes in disbelief. She thought that Adam would be alright after he heard her explanation but he wanted to give her the silent treatment.

“Let's go back to our pack, and let's talk about the issue right now.” Karen sighed. She was heartbroken that because of what Adam found out, his love for her automatically changed.

“Are you sure that you wanted to bring her with us in your pack? What will happen once they have a plan against you?” Karen's eyes were moist and she caressed her tummy to relax.

She didn't even think that Adam would be like this. She was his mate and Adam needed to trust her to make their relationship stronger. She was thinking that if she did something wrong to her. All she thought about was his safety but it looks like Karen forgot about it.

“Adam, there's nothing wrong if I trust her. It will be her fault if she decides to betray me.” Leah replied. Karen bowed her head when she felt Leah walking away from her. She felt bad but she was thankful that Leah still gave her a chance.

“Adam, I'm disappointed in you. Why could Leah forgive someone easily? But you can't.” She asked. She wanted to know everything. She wanted to know if he still loved her but all of his actions haunted her secretly. She was the hidden successor of their pack, that's why she never experienced being shouted at by someone.

“Maybe, I hide everything from you but it's because you will react like this. If you don't want me anymore, I'll understand.” She added which made Adam glance at her. There was a hidden fire in his eyes, and he moved closer to her.

“Then what will you do next if I reject you? What about our baby?” Adam inquired. There's a hint of fear on his face.

“Maybe, I will continue my upcoming marriage to the man that they wanted me to be with. And, about the baby? I know that our baby will understand why we can't be together anymore.” Karen almost felt the bitterness on her tongue. She turned her back against him to prevent him from witnessing how hurt she was.
