Amoux walked back and forth while he was looking at the clock in the middle of the pack house. He counted the time since Leah went to her office alone to talk to Alpha Brandon. He irritably took the glass of water that he got so he could calm his nerves.
“Hey! Are you here because of Leah?” Amoux's forehead creased when he heard Adam ask him. It looks like even though he lied, Adam still knew the truth. He realized that his father was right, some wolves could see someone's memory, and that's why he was sure that Adam was one of those gifted wolves.
“I think you know the reason why I'm here. I don't think I need to answer your question.” Amoux replied, which made Adam chuckle. He pursed his lips, and he glanced at him.
“Why are you here again, Amoux? Did you think that my cousin will accept you as her mate because you fucked each other? I want to be honest with you, I want Alpha Brandon for her. I don't want an immature and childish successor of the Lycan King to be her future half.”
“It's your choice, but you don't even have a voice if Leah wants to accept me.” Amoux blinked. He blankly looked at Adam, who was smirking at him.
“Did you think that my cousin won't listen to me? We're connected by blood, Amoux. Your family is the murderer of her parents. Did you think that she will easily forgive you all because you are her mate?”
“Maybe, you're relatives but I know that Leah wasn't like that. She's the most selfless woman I have ever known.”
“Yeah, and that's why you're taking advantage of her. I don't like you for my cousin, I'm thankful that she's carrying Alpha Brandon's child. I want you to see how she will be happy without you. I want you to witness her getting mated to Alpha Brandon.”
Amoux felt his heart split because of what Adam had told him. He couldn't take that anymore. He doesn't like to see Leah getting happy with some other man. He wanted Leah all by himself.
He realized that he couldn't live without Leah anymore. He blamed himself for not marking her from the very beginning.
“Are you regretting everything? Did you think they didn't do anything inside her office?” Adam smirked. He shook his head. “I'm thankful that she chose Alpha Brandon over you. We don't need your family to get connected with us.” He added.
“What's wrong with you? Did I do wrong to you?” Amoux gradually couldn't stop himself to get mad at Adam. He chose to get Leah even though she was pregnant by Alpha Brandon. It's alright for him, and he's too willing to accept her as his Luna.
“Because I don't want you, I don't want Sergio getting connected with my family. Leah is the future leader of our family. You are all users, and I know that you are all trying to use her for your benefit.” Adam answered. He glared at him as if he was too ready to murder him. He gnashed his teeth, and his eyes glowed in an instant.
“If you can have a second chance, why don't I have a right to get a second chance too?” Hurt was evident on his face. He gasped when he felt that his heart clenched but not in anger, but in disappointment to himself.
“You don't need a second chance because my cousin gave you multiple chances but you chose to hurt her. You don't have any right to ask why I'm mad at you because you're a jerk! You're a selfish, spoiled child of the Lycan!” Adam gritted his teeth when he said those words. He clenched his fist before he left him.
Amoux stared at Adam's back. He wanted to know why Adam seemed mad at him but it was useless. Maybe, Adam saw how he treated Leah when she was at the Nightwalker. Maybe, he saw how Leah tried to help him with whatever happened but he chose to treat her like a slut.
He wished to undo everything that he did to her.
He lowered his head. He bit his lips, and he wanted to talk to Leah if they have a label. Did he have a chance to get her? To enter her heart after what he did to her.
Amoux walked to Leah's office. When he twisted the doorknob, he was surprised when it wasn't locked. He felt happy because he thinks that Leah didn't lock the door. After all, she didn't want him to suspect that she was having an affair with Alpha Brandon.
But, he was shocked when he saw Alpha Brandon hugging her tightly. He felt that he was betrayed and he couldn't believe how hurt he was when he saw how Leah closed her eyes when Alpha Brandon embraced her. It seemed that they both did that whenever they were together.
“Amoux, what are you doing here?” Leah gazed at Alpha Brandon. His jaw teased when he saw the two staring at each other as if they were trying to communicate using their eyes.
“Amoux,” Alpha Brandon called him. He nodded at him before he lowered his head. He felt disappointed. He didn't think that it was too hurtful to be treated like what he was experiencing now. He treated Leah as his mistress and fucked her whenever he wanted. Maybe, Leah was hurt whenever he did that to her.
“Alpha Brandon.” He called his name. He thought that no one could take Leah away from him. She was his other half, the Moon Goddess gift as his mate.
“Do you need anything? I'm sorry, we're talking about something important.” Amoux felt that he was the third party, and maybe Leah was trying to get her revenge on him. Maybe, Adam is right. In the end, Leah will still choose Alpha Brandon as her mate, and he will end up losing her.
He wanted Leah to introduce him to Alpha Brandon as her mate but when he saw how Leah's eyes sparked when she glanced at Alpha Brandon, he was more hurt.
“I want to say that I will go back to our pack. My father told me that I needed to come with him to an engagement party. Do you want to go with me?” Amoux hoped that Leah would go with him. He wanted everyone to see how proud he was to have Leah by his side. He wanted everyone to see how lucky he was to get her, to be her mate.
“I have some plans that I need to do, Amoux. Aside from that, Anaya is with you. I don't want to see her.” Amoux was stunned. He forgot about Anaya because he was too focused on Leah. He didn't even think that Anaya would be with him once he went to the engagement party.
“I don't think that Anaya will be with me.” He sincerely answered. If Anaya won't come with him, did Leah want to come with him? He wanted her so badly. And he felt scared that Alpha Brandon and Leah might do something intimate behind his back. He never lost his confidence but seeing Leah happy with Alpha Brandon, he thought that Leah didn't want him anymore.
She wanted him to pleasure her. Although he agreed to her rules, he didn't think that in the end, he would be hurt.
“She will go with you. All of the pack knew that you both were going to marry. You should come with her. Obey your father.” Leah seriously suggested. He gritted his teeth in annoyance. Why did Leah push him to Anaya? Did she not love him anymore? Did she love Alpha Brandon more than him?
“Leah, I don't understand why you're pushing me. Is it because of him? I'm your mate, right?” He inquired. Leah was taken aback when she heard his question. She tried to act like she didn't know where Amoux would go.
“Yeah, You are my mate. And, I want you to be with Anaya. I thought you told me that you're willing to do whatever I want. Why are you disobeying me now, Amoux? Do you want me to make you remember who's the master here?” Leah saw how Alpha Brandon arched his brow, his lips twitched as if he found their setup too fascinating.
“Master?” Alpha Brandon uttered. He looked at Amoux who was glaring at him. He was too excited to see how Amoux would react once he went to his engagement party.
“Shut up, Alpha Brandon. Don't you dare make fun of me, or else, I will kick your balls?” Leah warned him. Alpha Brandon laughed so loud. He recalled that Leah being feisty was too seductive in his eyes.
“Leah, you don't need to be like that. I thought you liked me.” Alpha Brandon played with her. He knew that she told him that he was the father of her child. He moved closer which made Leah not move. He caressed her belly bump and smiled at Amoux.
“Don't be mad at me, honey. Our baby might be sad right now. I found out that once the mother is stressed, it means the baby is stressed too. So, you should avoid it.” Alpha Brandon sweetly whispered to her. She was shocked when Alpha Brandon started to act like the true father of her baby
“I don't even know about that,” Leah said but she was shocked when she heard the loud bang of the door. She didn't see Amoux because he angrily walked out of her office.
“What happened? I thought he wanted to talk to me.” Leah muttered in disbelief which made Alpha Brandon laugh again. He shook his head and he felt pity for Amoux because Leah is too numb to realize that Amoux is jealous because of him.
“I think he's jealous because of me. Leah, I know that he's your mate, and I think Amoux changed a lot.” Alpha Brandon stated.
“It's too impossible that he's jealous because of you. Maybe he was too excited to see Anaya in their pack.”
“I'm a man, Leah. If I saw my lover getting too sweet to another man, I would be jealous too.”
“You're different from Amoux. He always thinks about himself. He dislikes that a woman steps on his ego.”
“If he didn't like that you step on his ego, maybe, you should step on his balls.” Leah grinned when Alpha Brandon tried to joke with her. But, she was nervous that maybe Amoux was envious.
“I hope your second mate will crush your freaking balls.”
“Hey! Don't say that! I want to have a child. Maybe, if you weren't pregnant when we did that, I would be the father, too!”
“I don't think so. There's a lot of chance of getting pregnant if it's your mate. You have a connection.”
“Wait, are you sure about that? Okay, I'm excited to see if it's true or not. I want to be a daddy because my age always adds up.”
“Yeah, Lycan Hector told me that. There are a lot of possibilities if it's your mate. I don't understand why Amoux believed whatever I told him. Maybe he's dumb to think that I'm pregnant by you.”
“Leah, you're mated to him. I hope that I will see you getting his mark, once we see each other again.”
“And, I hope that your second mate will have your mark too. But if you fail, I want you to know that Anaya is available for you.” Leah smirked which made Alpha Brandon scowl because her joke wasn't too funny at will.
Amoux furiously shouted when he ran towards his pack. He couldn't believe that Leah let Alpha Brandon touch their belly. He will be the father of her baby, and he will do everything to make him mine again.
He rushed toward his pack when he saw his father was too busy preparing something. He turned his gaze and walked close to him.
“Daddy, I wanted to know whose engagement party I was going to attend. I don't want Leah to be alone in her pack.” Amoux sighed. He felt irritated but he needed to trust Leah.
“You don't need to think about her for now because I'm sure that she will go to the party.” Amoux was dumbfounded by what his father had told him. His heart clenched when he thought of something impossible. Why did Leah not tell him that she had plans to go to the party?
“I don't even know that she will attend there too. Okay, who is going to marry?” He asked. He felt nervous but he tried to remove it.
“Are you sure that you want to know? I think it's better if you go there without even asking anything.” Lycan Hector was about to turn his back when he called him again.
“I want to know who it is. Don't tell me that you changed your mind, and you prepare my engagement party with Anaya.”
“It's Alpha Brandon. He's getting married.” Amoux's eyes formed into tears when he found out that it was Alpha Brandon.
