“Daddy, how—” Amoux couldn't finish his words, for he didn't know what he would ask. He couldn't believe that his father had teamed up with Leah. Aside from that, he was trying to stop him from having a relationship with Leah because she was pregnant with another man.
“Amoux, I know you have many questions in your mind, but I need Leah to heal me fully.” Lycan Hector groaned when he tried to sit on the bed.
“But—” Leah didn't let him finish his word again when she moved to Lycan and placed her hand on him. She was smiling, and the light was slowly coming into her body.
Seconds passed, and Leah stopped and helped his father when he tried to stand up. Amoux couldn't believe that Leah and Lycan Hector were fine. They aren't mad at each other, and they help each other like a team.
“Thank you, Alpha Leah. I never thought that you have such a remarkable ability.” Lycan Hector chuckled like a teenage boy when he even glanced at Leah. Amoux scoffed; he couldn't believe he was seeing his father like that.
“It's a pleasure to help the Lycan King, Lycan Hector.” Leah acted like she was bowing her head which made the Lycan giggle again.
“Daddy, are you trying to hit my mate? She's mine!” Amoux roared; he grabbed Leah's waist and possessively hugged her. He smirked at his father when Lycan Hector arched his brow at him.
“You don't even mark her, son. You're so possessive; Leah might think it's unhealthy to have a relationship with you.” Lycan Hector kidded, which made Amoux widen his eyes in disbelief.
“She marked me, daddy. You didn't know that she kept me.” Amoux proudly said to his father. He even caressed Leah's baby bump, for he was too excited for her baby.
“You're so proud that she marked you, but you haven't kept her yet. You should mark her immediately. Did you know that many Alphas are waiting for your mate?” Leah acted like she was coughing when she heard Lycan's words.
“Is that true, Leah? How dare they wait for you? I'm your mate, and I'm your other half.” Amoux gritted his teeth. He moved to his father and embraced him, which made the Lycan's eyes expand in surprise.
“I thought that you would leave me, daddy. I don't care about the throne anymore, but I want you always by my side.” Amoux mumbled.
“I don't even know that my son was too clingy. Amoux, I'm not young anymore, and I want you to be happy before I die.” Amoux shook his head like a kid. He didn't like to hear those words coming out of his father's mouth.
“I don't want it to happen.”
“If it's my fate, we don't have a right to complain, Amoux.”
“Daddy, are you trying to tell me that you will leave me again too soon?”
“I'm not an immortal, son. Aside from that, I want to see their reactions. I will give you privacy with your mate, please. Don't you dare do that thing inside my room?” Leah chuckled, and they both looked at Lycan, who was walking out of the room.
“Almera, Lycan Hector was going out to the Nightwalker. I want you to help him and report to me about Anaya.” Leah quickly informed Almera using the mind link.
“Do I need to bring Karen with me? Or, I will bring my mate?” Almera replied.
“Don't bring her with you. Ask for Kairo's assistance so he can go with you. I need the details because I still think that there's a big chance that they will run away, especially Karen's mother.”
“Alright, I will tell you everything. And, I agree, I don't want to see Karen getting sad because of her family.”
“That's what I am thinking. And please tell Alpha Brandon that Amoux was inviting him to the upcoming mating ceremony. I want him to be surprised that I'm alive.” Almera laughed at her response; she even told me how excited she was to see Alpha Brandon's reaction.
“Leah,” Amoux called her name when he saw how preoccupied Leah was. He pursed his lips and held her waist again. “Are you talking to Almera using the mind link?”
“Yeah, I'm asking for her to assist your father. I know he wanted to see your mother and his best friend.” Amoux nodded at her. He wanted to ask for more information, but he was too hesitant.
“Did you all plan this when my father went to your pack? I thought that I'd lose him since we had different plans. I can't believe that he chose your plan over mine.” Amoux's mouth twitched.
“I told him not to tell you about our plan in exchange that I will get back in your pack for you. Our original plan was he would make me come back here, and I would stay here even though Anaya was here. But it changed when your mother pushed him to the cliff.” Leah explained.
“I don't want to get hurt that you wanted to hide everything from me, Leah.” Amoux acted like he was unhappy, but the truth was he was too glad that his father accepted Leah as his mate.
“You're so reckless whenever you do something, so to make sure that our plans would be successful, I forbid your father to tell you what our plans were. I don't want them to be suspicious that you're acting too strange.”
Amoux touched her belly; he smiled and even placed his ear on her skin. Why does he feel too glad whenever he sees and touches Leah's baby bump? He knew that he wasn't the father of her child, but why did he think he was?
He was surprised when he felt that it was moving. His eyes were moist, and he turned his back to wire his upcoming tears.
“Amoux, I want to tell you something. I will understand if you get mad at me in the end, okay?” Leah touched his chest, so he swallowed when he saw how beautiful she was.
“Why was your skin glowing? You're too blooming. Are you in love with someone other than me?” Leah shook her head in disbelief.
“I'm blooming because of the baby in my tummy. Lycan Hector told me that it's an effect when you're carrying a Lycan child.” Leah was trying to give him a hint, but Amoux didn't even notice it. She frowned when it looked like Amoux didn't hear everything she said.
“Okay, I understand what you're going to say. Well, it looks like you are more attractive, and I'm afraid that your suitors might think that you're single.” Leah bit her lips when Amoux told her that. She couldn't believe that Amouxa always spaced out; how did she tell everything if he won't understand without direct words, it's an effect for carrying a Lycan child, so it's natural that I'm shining, Amoux.” Leah tried again to tell him everything, but Amoux was too busy scratching his back. She felt irritated, and she felt that Amoux didn't care about their baby. Why does she think she wants to hit him, so he will slowly realize that she is carrying his child?
“I'm sorry, I felt something itchy on my back! Ahh– it's good!” Amoux groaned when he continually scratched his back. Leah's jaw clenched, and she felt that she wanted him more.
“Okay, enjoy scratching your freaking back, Amoux.” she sarcastically uttered. She turned her back to him and was about to leave him when Amoux grabbed her hand.
“Wait, I don't understand why you're mad at me. Okay, I'm sorry; please, can you repeat what you told me.” Leah shut her eyes and tried to calm herself. She didn't want to get irritated even more because of him.
“I'm shining because I'm carrying a Lycan pup.” Leah watched Amoux nod his head.
“Okay, you're shining because your baby is a Lycan.” Leah felt disappointed, but when she saw how Amoux was stunned, she expressed her laugh.
“Wait, is this a joke? Are you playing with me, Leah? Are you telling me that it's my child?” Amoux's voice cracked when he moved closer to her baby bump. His hands trembled when he slowly touched her belly. He cried joyfully and even planted a soft kiss on her stomach.
“You're pregnant, and I'm the father of your child! I will be a father! Oh, baby! I love you so much, and I love your mommy, too.” He spoke as he kissed the bump again.
“Leah, I told you that even though it's not my child, I will treat your baby as mine. I'm true to my words because if I love you, I should love your baby, too.”
“Amoux, you're the father of my baby. I told you it was Alpha Brandon because I wanted to see if you genuinely changed.” Amoux bit his lips, and cried even more.
