A member went to Olivia's side and cut her palm. She groaned when a small drop of blood went out of her hand. She was sweating wet as she bit her lips to stop moaning.
“Olivia, we wanted to know if it's true that you teamed up with Lycan Hector's wife to kill Richelle.” Olivia panicked. She didn't know that was the first question that they would ask. She moaned when energy came into her palm; she didn't think she was doing this.
The blood came out into her palm, and it was black. Her eyes widened when Leah smirked. The council started gossiping about Richelle, Olivia's close cousin, and they pity her for trusting Olivia too much.
The woman came to Leah and slashed her palm. She didn't even react when a bloom went out into her hand. “Olivia, are you OK? I don't even know that they will ask you that question directly. It looks like the council wanted to find out about Richelle's death.” Leah smirked as she saw how Olivia was starting to glare at her. Why does she feel that everything was planned all along, and she was stupid to agree to what Leah wanted?
“Leah, is it true that you have good motives for our clan?” Leah felt the energy come out into her hand as the blood slowly dripped. It's red blood, and the members were amazed at how Leah was more concerned about their pack. They all know how ambitious Olivia and her family are.
“N-No! I told you all that Leah isn't concerned about our kind. All she thinks is to get all the healers and let her husband use all of us for their benefit!” Olivia yelled as the blood came out again, and they all saw it was black. She gritted her teeth after she saw how Leah smirked at her. She knew the council thought she was lying since the blood was black.
“How dare you fabricate everything, Leah! I don't kill her, and I don't have any evil plans for our kind.” The more Olivia was lying; the more blood came into her hand. It's always black, which made Anaya tremble in fear. She couldn't believe her mother was stupid for not noticing Leah's plans. She thought that she could win against Leah, but what happened was the opposite.
She gritted her teeth as she watched how her mother denied everything but the truth always came out. “Stop this nonsense. I don't think that this man was doing his job correctly!”
“You bitch, how dare you to accuse my man without any proof? Maybe, you're the one we need to do the blood test to. Arrest her!” Fiona screamed, which made the armed men quickly go to Anaya.
Anaya stepped back and tried to run away, but the men went to her. They put the rope that was soaked on wolfsbane. She almost cried when her skin felt the effect of the wolf's bane.
“Are you all dumb? I am the daughter of your leader! How dare you all obeyed to a bitch like her!” Anaya yelled as the men dragged her onto the seat and hung one of her hands.
Her eyes widened when the man grabbed her hand and slashed a little cut on her palm. She groaned in pain. “You will all regret this! You are all traitors. U know that you all planned this!”
“Did you try to kill Karen?” Leah asked. Anaya moaned in pain when she felt energy getting inside her, and the blood dripped was black.
“How could she try to kill Karen? I can't believe this!”
“She needs to get the death punishment!”
“She's nothing but a whore. I told you she tried to murder her sister, but you all didn't believe me.” Leah stood up and looked at every people in the meeting room.
“I want to get back the throne to my clan.” Leah severely said. Olivia began whispering what she had learned about Karen; she wanted to grab Anaya's hair too much because of what she had attempted to do.
“She's a Lycan! She couldn't snatch the leadership in my hands.” Olivia started crying as she finally realized that Leah had easily won against her. Her lips trembled when she saw how Anaya was getting investigated. She couldn't believe that Anaya had done it to her lovely daughter.
“Of course, I couldn't steal the leadership since I am the Lycan, But I am the one who will choose someone to replace you. Olivia, you should surrender yourself because I'm willing to give your seat to Karen.” Leah smiled. She stood up and took the knife before she cut her palm. The blood drips, and it's still red.
“I told you all that I'm telling you the truth. I want to fight with you in defense, but I'm thinking about Karen.” Leah rebutted.
“N-No! She's lying! I know that she had other plans for all of the healers here.” Anaya screamed out of her lungs, but the blood dripping from her was still black.
“You should stop lying, Anaya. Did you know that this process was too harmful? That's why they stopped doing this process since those who did this almost died. As long as you lie, the blood that will go out of your hands will be more.” Leah smirked, and they cut on her palm and quickly healed.
“Today, our acting leader for now is Leah Vuk. We will get our ceremony to our future leader. Karen will bring the leadership, and she's Olivia's eldest daughter.” Fiona announced. She stood up from her seat and winked at Leah.
“That bitch didn't deserve that! Karen isn't qualified for that position.” Anaya kept muttering as the blood continued to flow. It's still black, and it means that she was lying. The more she lied, the more the energy entered her hand and grew.
“Arrest them! I want you all to search for their companions.” Leah ordered, which made the guards obey her. Anaya growled, and her canines showed. She hurriedly removed her hands from the hang and glared at Leah.
“You bitch, did you think I would surrender because you won this time?” The council panicked when armed men went to them. They were all shocked when the hunters went in.
“Anaya! What are you waiting for? Let's go!” Anaya went to Olivia and freed her. Everyone was looking at all the hunters.
“Don't you dare move, Luna, or else I might shoot your babies? I don't care if they might die in my hands.” The man shouted, which made Leah tremble. I couldn't believe that the man in front of her was trying to blackmail her. She wanted to know the truth, so she glanced at Adam.
“Adam, did you find out if this man is telling me the truth?” Leah asked, using the mind link. She felt her heart thumping too fast. She was nervous and worried at the same time.
“I don't see anything.” Adam hesitantly answered. She gritted her teeth and watched the man grab Anaya and Olivia. She even saw how Olivia glimpsed at her before she came with the man.
When Olivia and Anaya aren't in the room anymore. The council panicked; they couldn't believe that Olivia and Anaya had betrayed their trust. They still remember how the hunter tried to massacre each of them, and they all made them think that it was the Lycan's fault.
“I need to go back to the Nightwalker! I need to see my children.” Leah was about to run when she stopped after someone grabbed her hand. The council was looking at her, and they were all worried for her babies too. She blinked as she stopped herself from crying.
“We will go with you. We will assign someone who can help you to chase them. You don't need to worry about everything, but we wanted to see Karen after this.” Leah nodded. She turned around and didn't move when she saw her grandmother staring intently at her.
“G-Grandmother, what are you doing here? I thought you had already left here.” The members and the council bowed when they saw Mrs. Vuk; they all treated her respectfully, and it's not changed.
“Auntie, are you alright?” Fiona went to Mrs. Vuk and hugged her.
“I want to see my grandchildren. They're finally completed, Jonathan; come here!” Jonathan was hesitant, but he embraced her. His lips trembled as he felt that his heart ached
“How did you know that I am your grandchild too?” Mrs. Vuk chuckled. She jokingly smacked his head.
“I was the one who helped your mother when she was giving birth to the both of you. And I know that you have a mark on your nape. It's a red leaf mark.” Jonathan touched his nape after Mrs. Vuk told him about his mark.
“How could a grandmother forget about her grandchildren, right?” Jonathan's lips trembled, and they hugged her tightly. Leah was smiling as she glanced at Fiona, who was too busy taking care of her husband.
“We need to get back to the Nightwalker. They all attacked your place; they took advantage of the fact that you are here.” Mrs. Vuk announced, which made them anxious.
The council decided to help Leah in the war that Olivia was trying to do. They assigned every warrior that they could trust so they could locate Olivia too fast.
“Wait, I don't want them to notice us because of our smell. We should do a potion so we can hide our scent first.” Leah suggested, and they immediately obeyed her. She walked back and forth as she secretly prayed to the Moon Goddess to protect her children and her mate. She trusted Lycan Hector that he would defend her children.
“Do you have an update on the packs?” Leah inquired; Adam shook his head. “We need to go for now. I will wait for you; I must ensure my pack is safe.”
Leah went out to the healer's pack with the guards, Jonathan and Adam. They all decided to shift so they could return to their pack quickly.
“Adam, you should go to the pack. I'm the only one that I need to check the Nightwalker. Jonathan, please, help Adam.” Leah growled and went to the Nightwalker pack. She felt her adrenaline rushing her even more, and she stopped when she saw that the Nightwalker looked fine.
“Luna, we thought you won't be back here. I will say to Lycan Amoux that you're here.” Leah nodded her head, but she secretly checked everything. She knew something was wrong with their pack, but where were Amoux and Lycan Hector? What about her babies?
“Okay, please tell him to go here. I want to tell him the good news. And where's Amara and Jaxon?” Leah acted like she was naturally delicate, but she wasn't. She didn't know what she would do next if she found out that her beloved children had died.
“They're with Lycan Hector. He's inside his room and playing with them.” The man replied. Leah glanced at him, and she frowned slightly. She didn't notice earlier that the guard had a mask. What's the use of the show?
She sneezed as she smelled bullet powder, which made her realize that the guard was one of the hunters. She could smell the gunpowder and a slight of wolfsbane on it.
“I'm cold. I want to see Amoux. He promised me that he would cook something delicious for me. You know that Amoux can cook, right?” Leah asked. The guard nodded, which made her expression severe. She forced herself to smile, and she noticed that there was a small amount of blood on the floor.
“Leah! Amoux was here, but they got the twins, and Lycan Hector died protecting them.” Leah blinked when she heard Adam's words. Her heart was crushed when she learned Lycan Hector died protecting her children. “They shot him dead; Amoux is in the hospital. They tried to enter the pack, but they failed.” Adam added.
“Are you fucking with me? Tell me that you're lying! How could Lycan Hector die because of my children?”
“He died at peace. He muttered Richelle's name before he died. I saw that it was William who shot him. His brother.” Leah felt her knees tremble. She couldn't believe William could kill his brother for the throne's sake.
“Leah, please answer me. We will go there.” Adam's tone was full of worry, she noticed that his breathing was too heavy, and maybe they would run to go to the Nightwalker for her.
“Luna, he told me to come to his office.” The guard was about to touch her shoulder, but she glared at him. Her canines showed, which made the guard step back. “I am the Luna of this pack; how dare you disrespect me?”
“I-I'm sorry, Luna.” The guard bowed his head, and she began stepping up the stairs. Leah felt that she was lost; she didn't know what she would do next. She didn't know who the man was that the guard mentioned.
“It's alright, and I'm sorry if I shouted at you. I'm stressed and want to sleep for now.” She mumbled when the guard moved behind her. He was following her until she stepped in front of Amoux's office. She sighed.
“You should come inside; stop making him wait, Luna.” The guard smirked, cocked his head, and looked at her with arrogance.
“You're a guard, so you know you should open the door for me, right?” Leah still decided to act. She even tells Adam that she will wait for them and she will make sure that she will be safe.
The guard sighed. Annoyance was evident on his face, but he slowly twisted the door knob. He opened the door and even sarcastically pointed in their direction for her. Leah's lips were in a straight line.
She was trying her best to calm herself down, for she knew that she needed to see the man who acted as Amoux. She went into the room while bowing her head. She felt that her heart was almost running out inside her ribcage.
What if the man killed her on the spot? What if the man had other plans for her family?
She wanted to see who the man was, but when she looked up, she saw the man was looking out the window. Leah swallowed; she knew who it was; she knew his back and face.
Even though she knew that he had decided to betray them, she felt disappointed about what he did to her family.
“Damon.” She mumbled his name, which made Damon turn around, and there was an evil smirk on his lips. He was wearing an Amoux suit, and his hairstyle was like his, too.
She stepped back, but she stopped when the guard was still behind her. Damon smirked and even acted like he was Amoux.
“My Luna, I didn't even know that you would get back here too early. Do you enjoy going to the healer's pack?” Damon walked towards her and held her chin. He smelled her and caressed the mark on her neck. “This smirk would be replaced by my signature, Leah. You should choose wisely; you should be thankful that I loved you too much, and I'm willing to give you a chance.”
Leah's eyes widened when she saw that Damon decided to sniff her neck. He even moaned as if he was trying to lure her.
“Damon,” She whispered his name. She felt that her heart had crashed and that it was Damon. She thought that it was his father.
“That's it, baby. Uttered my name, and I will give you everything. I can provide you with everything you want, and I want to be with you.” Damon inhaled her scent, and he felt he would be crazy if Leah ended up with Amoux. He didn't like that the woman he longed for was with his cousin.
“What did you do, Damon? Why are you doing this? I don't understand why you broke my trust!” Leah stammered as her eyes started to water. She gulped when Damon slightly raised her chin.
“You made me like this, Leah. You opened this fucking obsession inside me. This is all your fault; why did they all die?” Damon shouted and grabbed her hair.
