Leah found herself sitting on the wooden couch. She couldn't stop her eyes from roaming around. The ambiance of the room was too calming in her eyes. She hoped that her office was like this. Seeing all the vintage things made her eyes pop out.
“Oh, I'm sorry! I like collecting vintage things. Welcome to my office.” Fiona greeted. She sat in the chair beside Leah. She smiled at her when she noticed that Leah's eyes were her friend's eyes.
“Leah, I learned you wanted to remove Olivia from her position. I'm willing to help you out, but you're the Luna of the whole world of werewolves. You cannot prioritize our kind once you get the position.” Fiona clasped her hand. She was smiling at her.
Leah sighed deeply. That's one of her problems, of course; if she would remove Olivia from her position, she needed to replace her. She couldn't manage them properly since she had a baby she needed to take care of.
“Once, I beat Olivia. I will tell you that the healers would be alright because I will choose someone who can manage it. I found out in the book of my ancestors that our bloodline was the true leader of our kind, but they changed it since there was another bloodline who wanted to take over. I can guarantee that whoever I choose will be the great leader of our kind.” Leah severely said. She thought that Karen had more credentials for handling their kind. She was the eldest daughter of Olivia.
“Oh, Leah, but I want to help you, for I thought you're the one who would manage our kind. You will give us to someone we didn't know.” Fiona frowned. She was disappointed with what Leah was planning. She promised her friend that she would help her daughter, whatever it caused but she was disappointed that Leah didn't have other plans to lead all the healers.
“I am the one who will still manage it, but I want to make sure that everything that you all need will be sustained. I'm handling my three packs, and I assigned someone who can help me manage packs. I won't assign someone if I don't trust that person. I know that this person was more gifted than me.”
Fiona nodded her head. She tasted the tea that she had prepared for herself. She pursed her lips and thought about what Leah had told her.
“Then, who are you planning to replace Olivia? I don't think we could replace her too fast since she had a lot of loyal members here.” Fiona tapped her head. She glanced at Adam and Jonathan, who were watching them.
“Since there's a rule to get the throne. I want to fight with Olivia. And I will replace her eldest daughter.” Leah smirked, which made Adam widen his eyes in disbelief.
“Leah, I don't think that Karen would love the idea. She's the future Alpha of their pack.” Adam was too hesitant when he informed Leah about his mate. Leah chuckled.
“Adam, I thought you already knew your mate. She didn't like to fight as an Alpha; she enjoyed doing what the healers did. What do you think might be the reason that our grandmother chooses her to teach about potions and herbs? It's because she knew that Karen had more credentials to become the leader of this pack.”
“And, you are a great help to her because of your ability. Don't put her credibility inside the box; I know she is stronger than I am.”
“You should trust your wife. Did you even notice how happy she is? She's excellent, and I think this is the best plan for her.” Leah exclaimed. She crossed her arms and even hummed as if she thought something more adorable.
“So, you are planning to replace Olivia using her daughter. That's cool; you're a sadist, Leah. Did you think that her daughter would be happy to replace her mother? I don't think so. Olivia needs to die so your friend will replace her.” Fiona informed her. Leah stopped for a moment; she wondered if Karen would be like it; she knew that even though Anaya had done something terrible to Karen, she still loved them.
“But there's another rule,” Leah smirked. After they discussed their plan, they heard a loud knock on the door.
“Fiona Steward! Open this damn door, or we will break your door!” Leah stood up on the couch while Fiona had a severe expression. She didn't look like a lovely woman, and she seemed so powerful.
Fiona's men rushed towards them. They all formed a circle of all of the armed men who were trying to trespass on the house. Fiona sweetly smiled, but there were daggers in her eyes.
“Fiona, what are you doing? I don't want something bad—”
Adam touched her shoulders when she was about to follow Fiona. “Trust her. She isn't as simple as you seem. She's too powerful. If she decided to get the throne, she could easily snatch it, but she didn't have any plans.”
Jonathan nodded his head. This is why he didn't like the idea that he would come to Fiona's house.
“Oh, Luna, don't worry about my wife. She's in control. I know her.” Fiona's husband chuckled. His eyes were glowing gold, and his expression was too cold.
“If you know that she's more of a fighter than your mother, Leah. You don't need to be anxious; Olivia knew that she would lose once Fiona decided to enter this game.” The man added.
“Then, if Fiona could do that, why didn't she get the throne? Why didn't she decide to let Olivia out of her leadership? She's the only key that would help us.” Leah couldn't stop herself from asking. She didn't understand.
“It's because she didn't like to get the throne. Aside from that, we are happy mates here in our house. We want our pack to be okay. We don't have any plans to do what you wanted us to do. There's a rule, whoever needs to get the crown, then fight for it.”
Leah didn't say anything anymore. She felt that she was anxious because of her babies. She didn't like that they might get harmed.
Minutes passed, and Fiona went back into the room. She looked too sweet when she moved close to her husband.
“I told them that we would go to their place. Olivia was there, same with the elders.” Fiona informed her. Leah nodded.
“Leah, I want you to remember that you have a right to replace Olivia as long as you will make them see how capable you are. She knew that once you went there, there was a big chance that you would take the throne from her.” Fiona added.
“Jonathan, I want you to stay here. You don't need to go with me because I don't want them to know–”
“You won't need to worry about me. Tsk! I needed to return to Olivia so she might not doubt me.” Jonathan suggested, which made Leah stop. She knew that she had put a potion into him, but there was a part of her heart was doubting Jonathan
Jonathan was staring at her. He thought if Leah would let him, if she agreed, he would have her trust like she was telling him. If it's not, it implies that Leah was lying and she didn't want Adam to be unhappy about it.
“Okay, I want you to take care of yourself.” Jonathan was dumbfounded when Leah agreed. He sighed and started walking out.
“Why did you let him? What will happen if Jonathan reports everything to Olivia?” Adam was worried for Leah.
“I think I can trust your cousin. He had a lot of chances to kill me, but he never did that. I trust him like how I trust you, Adam.” Jonathan stopped when he heard what Leah had told Adam. He felt his heart clench after he listened to those words. He never heard it from anyone.
“Okay, how sure are you?” Adam inquired once again.
“I told you that if I can trust you, it means I can trust him, too. I know there's a reason why it's all happened, but if Jonathan isn't worth my trust, then I don't think grandma would let him stay here. So, it means Jonathan is safe to trust; he didn't even hurt our grandmother.” Jonathan sighed aggressively and breathed. He walked out as he kept telling himself that he shouldn't be softened because of what he heard.
Afterward, Leah stayed an hour at Fiona's house. They all went to the council; she even saw Anaya glaring at her.
“What is this bitch doing here in our land, mommy?” Anaya gritted her teeth. She was hoping that she could strangle Leah's neck because she was the reason why her plan didn't work.
“Why do you seem mad at me, Anaya? You should be thankful that you are hiding here. Your mother might be managing this pack, but I have a right to go here.” Leah scoffed. She smirked at her when Anaya's canines showed.
“After you steal everything from me, you still dare to go here. What would happen if I beheaded you here?” Leah laughed loudly and slowly let her canines show as her eyes glowed redder than Anaya's.
“Do it, Anaya. Once I get you again, I will ensure you won't escape me.” Leah growled, which made Anaya widen her eyes in fear and the other members.
“You're a Lycan, now. You know that we hated Lycans, right?” Anaya tried to remove the fear that she felt.
“Let's see if your mother can still get her crown.” Leah went into the council, and she saw an older woman.
“It's so lovely to see Vuk today. I can't believe you're a full Lycan in a short time, Leah.” The older man didn't have any expression on her face as she went closer to Leah.
“I am here to report what happened to the most unforgettable night when all of the healers were massacred. I have proof, and I found out that you have a way to see if someone might be lying or not.” Leah started. She crossed her arms and grinned at Olivia, who was trying to hide her panic.
“I know that all of you discovered that I am the Luna, now.---”
“This is why we don't like you as our future leader now. Leah, I know you're an ambitious bitch; you steal everything from my daughter.” Olivia gnashed her teeth as she almost yelled.
“Olivia, keep disrespecting me, and I fuccking swear that I will hang your body at the entrance to his pack. You might be the acting leader now, but I'm higher than you. Have you forgotten that? Based on the rules my ancestors gave me, your bloodline was just an acting leader of our kind; no one in my family couldn't do their part as the leader of this pack. The first leader of my ancestors sealed it!” Leah opened the green leaf book, which made the council gasp. They knew about the book that Leah was holding onto.
“This is why you're a substitute because you killed those capable of handling this pack. To all of the elders here, we found out that Olivia did something dirty, planning against me, and to all of you. You all know that Richelle would take everything, but Olivia did something terrible. She made a deal with Luna the Nightwalker to kill all the family members qualified to take the crown!”
“My ancestors wrote that you could see in our blood if someone was lying. I can do that, and I want to request that Olivia might do it. If she were innocent, then I wouldn't take everything to her.” Leah breathed after she told everything. This was her last key!
Olivia chuckled. She looked at one of the older women, who was smirking at Leah. “Alright, I'm willing to do that. You know that one healer could do that, right?” Olivia felt that she got a victory.
“And, who is that? I don't trust if you know that healer. It looks like she could help you to fabricate the truth.” The council started whispering, and they all glanced at the older woman who had scowled at her face.
“Are you accusing me of not telling the truth?” The older woman growled in anger. Leah walked towards her without fear in her eyes.
“Did I mention you? I don't even remember that I said your name since I don't even know you.” Leah uttered. She raised her head as she glanced at Jonathan.
“Why don't we ask for the man's help here? What about you?” Leah pointed out Jonathan, who was expressionless, which made Olivia tremble in excitement. She finally knows that she will win over Leah. She knew how to trick the process of the blood test. She wasn't in her place if she didn't know about it.
“Oh, right? Are you sure that you wanted Jonathan to do the work?” Olivia inquired as she stood in her seat while Anaya glared at Leah.
“You should be thankful that Karen still loves you as her mother because if it's not because of her, I would rather kill you than use this method.” Leah bluntly stated, which made Olivia stunned for a moment.
“I treated your daughter as my friend, so even though I want to kill you using my hands, I won't do that. Did you know that Anaya tried to kill your favorite daughter? That's why she left in your pack because once she got back to your pack, Anaya swore that she would kill her parents.” Olivia blinked. She couldn't process what Leah was telling her. Does Leah was trying to distract her about the truth?
“You're trying to slander my daughter. It's Karen's choice; stop blabbering, Leah. You should prepare your ass because I know I'll win against you.” The other members took the chair and hung their hands.
Adam was still praying for the Moon Goddess to help Leah. He was thankful that Leah had changed her mind about killing Olivia.
“To all of the healers who will be here, we will do the blood test that we will always do if someone might lie.” One of the council announced. She glimpsed at Leah and hoped that she would win against Olivia. She sighed and looked at Fiona, who was smiling at her sweetly.
“And, to make sure that no one can fabricate the truth! I'll ask another man to help us. He was known as a man who was too honest.” Fiona's husband stands up, which makes Olivia's eyes widen while Leah's eyes spark.
“Are you sure that he isn't on Leah's side? She's Fiona's husband.” Olivia shuddered. She glared at the man in front of her.
“You don't need to worry about it because Jonathan will assist Leah.”
Olivia tried to complain, but when he noticed that the council didn't even think about what she was trying to say, she stopped. She gnashed her teeth; her only chance was Jonathan.
“Okay, let's start.” The older woman rolled the leaf, and she stopped when Olivia's name was on the leaf.
“Olivia,” The older woman wasn't sure if Olivia could win against Leah. She sighed as she tried to calm herself down.
