37. A Decisive Battle
Kaimaroth used her wings to halt her movement, she flapped them loudly charging downwards at Senita. "Grim pierce" She streaked towards the ground with blazing speed, before she could reach her, Senita phased into the ground, sinking into a dark mucky liquid.
Kaimaroth grimaced inwardly. "Dealing with these kinds of abilities is usually a pain in the ass..." She smirked. "If it were another God," She exclaimed loudly.
Kaimaroth’s ability, Reinforcement, allows her to increase the strength of inanimate objects.
Her technique further enhanced her ability such that it can affect reality.
She slammed her spear into the ground, cracking it open. "Underworld [Strength]
Technique: Umbral lockdown"
A purple shockwave spread around the battlefield, erecting a barrier that surrounded the dominion’s front gate.
Senita tried to phase through the ground but she couldn’t, a strange force blocked her.
She was really surprised as to what was happening. So allow me to explain. Senita’s ability allowed her to create gaps within inanimate objects using dark muck as a base. Unfortunately for her, Kaimaroth’s technique densened the ground about fifty times its usual density.
This inhibited Senita from creating gaps through the ground. Kaimaroth’s grin widened, who wouldn’t be happy to have practically halved their opponent’s threat level, well that should have been the case.
Multiple puddles of dark muck began to appear simultaneously within the barrier, at least one hundred and fifty to two hundred of them.
These strange dark puddles came from the goo-like substance that Senita released from her armour. Undead creatures such as zombies and skeletons came out from the puddles.
This was no longer a one Vs one battle, Kaimaroth was face to face with undead creatures enough to make a mini battalion.
Apart from the undead creatures, Senita was still very much a threat. "You have to be kidding me..." Kaimaroth muttered inwardly. "Is she a summoner of some type?" She asked herself, knowing full well she won’t receive an answer.
Senita wasn’t a summoner or a necromancer or anything of the sort. Kaimaroth will come to realise this crucial fact later on. The undead creatures charged at Kaimaroth in their huge numbers.
Kaimaroth wasn’t one to back down, she reinforced her spears, and anchored her feet to the ground. With full strength, she threw the four spears at the undead creatures.
How would four spears stop over one hundred and fifty to two hundred undead creatures? You ask. Well my dear spectators, the answer to your question will be quite shocking.
As the spears approached the undead creatures with blazing speed, a purple aura enveloped them as they fused into one. Just like a nuclear bomb, it exploded, destroying the dominion’s gate along with the undead creatures. A huge crater formed in the ground so deep that magma erupted from it.
What has Senita been doing all this time? A strike came from behind Kaimaroth, five claws bulged through her torso. Senita had played the most clever card an individual could ever use in a battle, she distracted Kaimaroth with the undead creatures and waited patiently like a lion hunting for prey, then struck when the conditions had been met to create the perfect situation.
Kaimaroth had just thrown her spears so she was completely defenceless, the undead creatures provided cover and the perfect distraction for her to get into position, and given the scale of the attack that Kaimaroth just delivered, it must have required a lot of spirit energy and focus.
Kaimaroth pulled back, distancing herself from Senita so that the claws would be removed from her torso, but that was exactly what Senita had anticipated. She reeled herself in with the claws just like a grappling hook, closing in on Kaimaroth before she could figure out her plan. Using her mace, she bashed Kaimaroth’s face, slamming her into the ground.
Senita is a corpse maiden, there are very few of them still in existence because of the GREAT PURGING that was carried out by the former Grand Summoner Levi Dux Forfield.
He destroyed the corpse maidens because they had amassed too much power which could pose a threat to his rule over Mistrium. Senita is one of the last remaining corpse maidens.
What made them dangerous was their diverse fighting style and insane spirit energy reserves. She had lived in hiding for over a hundred years, then Berry summoned her, she was his first summon and she got to experience him when he was still pure and untainted. The two got to enjoy each other’s company, he taught her many things; how to cook, defend herself, and most of all have fun.
She quickly fell for Berry, I mean which girl wouldn’t fall for a guy that took good care of her, he was kind, sweet, caring, and anytime they challenged Conquest taverns he would always protect her. She fell deeply for him, so deep that when he changed overnight after claiming to have heard a certain voice that showed him his purpose for living, she still stood by his side.
She didn’t care whether he burnt Asteria down, as long as she stood by his side it didn’t matter to her.
She had made up her mind to follow him to the depths of oblivion. Everything she does, she does it for him, her sweet, sweet master Berry.
"Ahhh, Berry....." She caressed her lips, cheeks getting red. Kaimaroth lay before her almost lifeless. She began to move her fingers slightly as she came to—
Bam..
Senita slammed her mace into Kaimaroth, smashing her into the ground. She did it over and over again until Kaimaroth was about 30 feet underground.
"Big sis Kaimaroth" the voice of her little twin sister Asmaroth replied in her head.
Boom....
Her spirit energy surged, blowing away the entire earth that buried her, a landslide began to occur. "What’s happening, isn’t she supposed to be dead?" Senita thought to herself, trying not to be swallowed by the landslide.
"I leave her alone for a minute and she goes ahead to break Our Celestium Pact. I ought to give that little spoilt brat a beating"
Kaimaroth walked out from underneath the rubble, uttering those words with a warm smile on her face. She called her little sister spoilt even though she’s the one that spoiled her rotten.
When the twin sisters were but little nymphs, to put it simply they were at the very bottom rank of the underworld demons.
Asmaroth would get bullied by higher class demons who wanted to have sex with her or just keep her as a toy, Kaimaroth always protected her even if it meant getting beaten into a bloody pulp, she didn’t care. After all, she was the major admirer of her little sister, to top it off she was suffering from a severe case of sibling complex.
She was totally obsessed with her little sister and often overprotective of her, be it a cerberus, scavenger or a gigantic rose tree.
Even after they were recognised as the daughters of the beginning entity that created the underworld, Eria, Kaimaroth still remained overprotective of Asmaroth. She drew her greatest strength from her little sister and the thought of her sister crying over her dead body really pissed her off.
Kaimaroth streaked towards Senita, before Senita could react, she had already sliced off her arm. Senita attacked with her claws to gain some space but it didn’t work, Kaimaroth moved swiftly behind her and severed her other arm.
The now armless Senita fought back using her feet but frankly that couldn’t be enough. "I mustn’t let Lord Berry down. I must fulfill his wish" Senita said angrily, that was the first time throughout the entire battle that her words contained emotion.
"Enough!" Kaimaroth’s voice echoed loudly.
She held one spear with four of her arms, placing it in the middle of her eyes.
She vanished in the next instant, Senita felt as if she was falling. When she tried to use her hands she didn’t feel anything, she looked upwards and saw that her head had been detached from her body.
"Underworld [Strength] Technique: Requiscent overflow" Kaimaroth’s hands moved so fast that her arms became blurry, she sliced Senita’s head and body into unrecognisable pieces.
"You were indeed a strong foe" She smiled warmly. "It is my honour to have bested you in combat" She said chivalrously.
Space distorted behind Kaimaroth, pale white hands reached out and grabbed her by the neck. "Big sis Kaimaroth.... please forgive me!" Asmaroth said as crocodile tears rolled down her cheeks.
Smack...
Kaimaroth elbowed her little sister in the stomach. "Don’t think that trick of yours will sa—" She looked at Asmaroth’s saddened face and her heart melted instantly.
"Kackkkk... my beautiful little sister how can I stay mad at you..." She hugged Asmaroth so tightly that she could barely breathe.
"Hehehe, big sis Kaimaroth is super predictable" Asmaroth grinned inwardly.
The war of red was finally reaching a close with the dominion now secured and the other domains had seem to have gotten their footing back. All that remained was to defeat Berry.
Frankly Revet wasn’t having an easy time doing that. Over at Berry’s domain, Revet lay by a broken rock, beaten and battered, he lay inside a puddle of his own blood.
"Don’t tell me this is all you have got" Berry said sarcastically as he loomed over Revet.
"How could he be this strong?" Revet grunted inwardly.
