Chapter Omar

*Abi POV*

Omario storms out, leaving me fuming. He does not get to be angry when he sent his stupid friend and ex to terrorise my friends and had her scent all over him.

“I will lead by myself, I don’t need him!”

“You do. You would literally die if he were to walk out for good,” my stupid wolf responds.

“Shut up, Nina!”

“You are jealous and it makes you nasty.”

I ignore Nina and open the documents he give me. My whole ‘I don’t need him’ attitude completely shutters.

He spent the whole day calculating just how much is needed to compensate my friends. Each one has the number of years, approximated hours of work they put in and the amount they are owed. It’s a thick document with over ten thousand names. I choke when I see the last pages. He made adjustments to the castle’s expenditures, cut down officials salaries and has already paid everyone without collapsing bankrupting the kingdom.

My heart sinks at the reception I gave him. There is just no way he would have send Floyd and Olivia to terrorise my friends if he was already processing their compensations.

I am racing through the passage when I meet an excited Teresa.

“His Highness paid us. He paid all of us. We are rich!”

“I know,” I say with a sigh while she continues telling me about all the things they can now afford.

“I’m sorry, Teresa but I have to go.”

Teresa is still going on about affording her own big house to raise her children in by the time I get into our chambers.

Omario is laying on the bed topless when I walk in.

I completely freeze, not knowing where to start.

“Are you just going to stand there like a statue?” he asks with a neutral tone that makes me more nervous.

“I..I.. read the document. Thank you and I’m sorry.”

Silence

“Omar, please. I’m really sorry. I can’t lead without you.”

“Why didn’t you just ask me before going all crazy, Abigail?”

“You had her scent all over you,”I say softly.

He narrows his eyes and laughs at me.

“It’s not funny!”

“You are really hot when jealous,” he teases.

“I’m not…”

“Yes, she is and missing you like crazy,” Nina interjects.

“Do you think I had time to go cheat on you, Abigail?”

I shake my head frantically.

“Are you ever going to trust me, Abigail?”

I swallow my saliva. He sounds too serious when he uses my full name.

“You are not telling me why her scent was all over you.”

“I fucked her. All day long. Are you happy now?”

I gasp, a sharp pain piercing through my heart and tears streaming down my cheeks.

He curses under his breath and jumps off the bed.

“Abi, Babe, I am just messing with you.”

I am weeping by the time he pulls me into his arms. How can he joke about something like that?

“She ran into my arms when Terrence and I got back. You apparently terrified of her. I gave you my word to be faithful to you always. Why don’t you believe that?” His tender tone makes me more emotional.

“I’m not smart or educated like her and you value her input.”

He pulls back and looks at me.

“What? Are you hearing yourself? Do you think I’m that superficial? When on earth would you have gotten educated when you were slaving here your whole life?”

“So…”

“I had not spoken to Olivia since the day we broke up. I did not ask Floyd to bring her here and nor do I want her opinion on anything.”

I nod my head already beating myself up for believing Floyd and Olivia and jumping into conclusions without getting his side of the story.

“What do you have to say for yourself?”he asks and I have nothing.

“She was jealous and it clouded her judgement. She is sorry,”Nina jumps in but Omario does not let her off either.

“And you? What reason did you have for burning our study?”

“Aaa..Eeer…I hate your beta and your ex,” Nina stammers with a squeaky voice.

“Does that give you a right to destroy millions of dollars worth of property while we are trying to save money to compensate everyone?”

“I am sorry. I will just kill them and spare the property next time.”

Omario shakes his head. He is actually softer with Nina than he is with me.

“It won’t happen again,” I say, already wishing I was dealing with Titan. He would have forgiven me already by now.

“It better not or Titan and I will starve you two, forever,” he threatens.

“Forever? You can’t be serious!” Nina cries. I can’t believe having no sex with our mate gets her did flustered.

“Omar, please. We are sorry, okay?”

He raises his eyebrows, mischievously. “Omar?”

I can’t help but blush. I have been trying to find a nickname that his ex never used. “It means eloquent, wealthy spear.”

He chuckles. “You are a jealous wreck, Abigail, but I love it. I guess you want that ‘wealthy spear’ inside you now?”

My whole face is now burning up and I can’t mask my moan when he buries his head on my neck and kisses me.

Two months later, the kingdom is the best it’s ever been, socially, financially and every other sector is flourishing. People absolutely love us. Our kingdom is also in great spirits because we have baby boomers. It’s celebrations everywhere and rightfully so. The kingdom that once only had five pups born in a year is now expecting over hundreds. We believed that the kingdom’s infertility was the result of the mutation, but it was wrong mates. The pregnancies we are seeing now are a result of the haze, when the mate bond became so strong no one could ignore and everyone finally got to be with their rightful mates.

After Flode’s deception, the pregnancy is now the measure everyone is using to be certain that they are with the right mates.

As the Luna, I find myself under so much scrutiny. They don’t say it, but every eye lingers around my tiny waist. I get asked by everyone how I am feeling every damn morning. Each one wants to be the first to spot a symptom of morning sickness, but I have none. Then, there are those, who are brave enough to hint that a kingdom with no heir is a poor and lost one.
