chapter fourteen

W I N T E R

After the vows and blessing of the marriage, we moved the after party to the Castro's.

I remember this place. This was the hall that changed my whole life.

My eyes wandered around but the decorations were different from the last time I was here. This time fresh white roses were mixed with red roses to decorate the hall. A banner hung at the entrance read, Just Married.

This was the place where Leonardo's father announced my engagement and since then crazy things happened.

I glanced over to my right where Leonardo was seated, he leaned back and had a bored expression on his face.

Why do I have to stay stuck to him?!

"Attention everyone," My fathers voice echoed through the halls while he hit his glass with a fork to draw everyone's attention.

"I'd like us to raise a toast to the newly married couple!" He exclaimed and everyone raised their glasses.

"To the lovebirds!" Everyone clicked their glasses with joy while Leonardo hit his with mine with a little bit too much emotion.

Why's he so mad?

The party progressed with some people presenting us gifts then a dance session. At this point I went to Rachel who was talking to a guy who seemed really familiar.

"Rach?" I called when I reached her table.

She broke into a smile, "Hey Mrs Castro," She teased.

"Stop." I rolled my eyes and took the seat next to her.

"Hey, congratulations." He greeted.

"Thanks." I twitched my lower lip.

"You look like you don't remember me," He squinted his eyes accusingly.

"I don't." I confirmed. "Do I know you?" I asked him.

"We met at the club the other time," He reminded me. "I'm Timothy." He reintroduced himself.

"Oh I remember!" I affirmed.

"I know I said you and Leo were gonna date but look at you both getting married in under a month." He snickered.

"Shut up." Rachel smacked his arm.

"What? But I did say they were gonna fall in love at some point right?" He recited.

"Can't you see she's sensitive about the topic? You only know business and nothing about humans!" Rachel snapped and I was taken aback.

"Rachel chill, it's not that deep." I lied in a bid to calm her down.

"I'm sorry babe," He apologized to Rachel.

"Don't touch me." She moved her hand away when he tried to touch her.

Okay, I'm starting to think this is less about me and more about them. What's the deal with both of them anyway? I remember Timothy mentioned that they were dating but Rachel denied it.

I left the table and decided to walk around the house, I spotted Leonardo talking to two women who looked quite young and watching them drive off.

When they were no longer in view, he turned towards the direction I was standing and locked eyes with me but his expression immediately changed.

"What?" He barked when he walked to meet me.

"I'm looking around, what's your problem?!" I hissed.

"This is going to be one very long days of my life." He sighed before going back inside.

Hours passed as I sat in the couple seat and used my phone. Layla, Leonardo's mother, my mother in law informed me it was time to leave to my new home.

My heart broke as I hugged my family and got into the Royce Rolls that would take me to my new house.

The car stopped in front of the main front door and the Leonardo immediately got down and walked inside.

Couldn't even help with my bags.

The chauffeur helped me open the door and I stood at the house main entrance, I gawked at the luxury.

From the high ceilings to the glass door leading to a wide foyer which had a very nice white rotating sculpture and overheading it was a white glass chandelier.

The neutral palette consisted of white, black and grey which highlighted the landscape to shine.

The chauffeur led me upstairs where the hallway had different doors and art pieces hung on the wall.

"This way ma'am." He directed and I went towards the room he opened.

The room was kind of small, the king sized bed was neatly arranged and like the living room, the dominant colors were grey and white.

A white drawer beside my bed where my bedside lamp stood, two white sofas and a glass center table. The side was the window which was built like a door that leads to a balcony where two chairs sat to give me a clear view of the swimming pool.

This house is beautiful, Mrs Castro has a good eye for luxury.

I immediately stopped exploring because I realized that there'll be a lot of time for that. I struggled to take off my wedding dress on my own but I won't ask him for anything.

I opened the door to the bathroom and my eyes scanned the whole place. A marble wall with a textured wallpaper on the wall that almost looks like stone and contrasts with the chromed details. Accent lightings and a white sunken tub.

Focus Winter!

I took a bath and scrubbed my face so much so it could remove all the layers of make up I had on. Slipped into something more comfortable then took out my phone.

Congratulatory messages, reporters and work were the only messages I had.

I laid on the bed and it bounced me up, I felt the bed and noticed it was a spring bed, my favorite type of bed.

Starting to be a fan of Mrs Castro.

My throat felt dry all of a sudden and I decided to get water from the kitchen. I jumped from my bed and made my way downstairs, the place was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

I pushed the door to the kitchen open and I saw Leonardo and a brunette hugging. Pushing me door was a bad idea because both their eyes fell on me.

I looked around for a jug where I could keep my water.

"The upper drawer." The girl announced.

She knows where the stuff in the house are.

"Why are you helping her?" Leonardo complained.

"Don't be like that Leo!" She scolded him.

She calls him Leo? Interesting.

I just grabbed my water and walked out of the kitchen back to my room.

My eyes darted to the ring resting on my fourth finger.

It hasn't even been twelve hours since we got married and he's already bringing women to the house?

He has no respect for me or this relationship. Of course I don't expect to fulfill his sexual urges, but if at all he wants to fulfill them he had enough money to book hotels not the house his mother gave to us.

I'll deal with him tomorrow.
