Bella placed both hands in a pleading gesture as she stared at the manager, "Please, help me, Sir, this customer tried to take advantage of me"
The manager scoffed at her, "What advantage? You signed up for it, I asked if you could handle the job and you said yes"
Realization dawned on Bella, "n..n..no Sir, I didn't know...?"
"You didn't know? The manager cuts her off, "Well, too bad because you will have to keep your end of the bargain because Mr Meyer here is a valuable customer and I won't want to displease him"
The manager dragged her into the room, "Now, apologize to Mr Meyer and do as he wants"
"No, please, I'm married..."
"Well, you should have thought of that before coming here"
"I like this girl, she is the one I want and no one else" Mr. Meyer groaned from where he was still lying in pain on the ground, "I'll triple your payment, whatever you want, I'm ready to give to you"
"Did you hear that? Can your damn husband offer what he is willing to pay?" The manager asked
"I won't do what you asked of me, I cannot, please forgive me and let me go" Bella pleaded and made to move past the manager. She was roughly pushed back by the manager and he raised his hand as if to slap her
"I won't do that if I were you" a voice suddenly boom
"Daniel" Bella cried and without thinking she ran to him and straight into his arms, she felt so grateful to have him here
"And who the hell are you?" The manager asked furiously
"I'm her husband, someone you don't want to mess with"
"I didn't force her to be here, she came willingly"
"But you are evidently forcing her to do what she doesn't want to do"
"I'll get you for this" her manager fumed, pointing a finger at her, he quickly went to his customer and helped him to the bed
Daniel grabbed her hand and led her out from there.
Bella could see that he was furious, she saw a muscle twitch in his jaw and his eyes blazed, she regretted going against him but all she wanted was to get a job so that she could help out with the expenses.
Daniel didn't say anything to her as he flagged down a taxi, nor did he say anything on the ride home but she wouldn't be deceived by his quietness because his face showed a brewing storm and evidence of just how mad he was at her.

"What the hell were you thinking going to work in a place like that?" Daniel yelled as soon as they got home
"I... I'm s..sorry...I didn't know..."
"You didn't know? How old are you? A twenty-three year old Virgin?" He retaliated and Bella blanched at the face of his anger, "Don't tell me I married a slut"
"Don't talk to me like that" she cried, "all I wanted was a job to support the family"
"Well, I didn't ask for your support and I don't care about you but you are not allowed to cheat as long as we are married"
"I never planned on that. I was taken by surprise at the club, I honestly thought my duty was simply to serve drinks and that's all"
"Henceforth, you are not allowed to look for a job, if you want one so badly, I'll look for a respectable job for you"
"I don't need your help thank you, I can look for a decent job myself" she snapped and walked off but paused midway. She stared back at Daniel and walked toward him, her face looked sullen and filled with regrets
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have spoken to you that way and I should have listened to you earlier, please forgive me, and thank you for helping me back there"
Daniel was taken aback at her sudden change in temperament, he opened his mouth and closed it right back. This is one hell of a complicated woman.
He was grateful that he had decided to follow her to the club, he was at first puzzled when he didn't see her in the waiting arena, and when he had asked a bartender there, he had been told that she was sent upstairs to serve a customer, his instinct told him to go look for her and he obeyed his gut. He had been so pissed that he barely kept himself in check not to strangle that damn manager, he will make sure that the manager regrets every but of his actions.
His phone suddenly rang and the caller ID showed it was Aaron, he must be here with what he had asked for
"Go in and change, I'll be back in a jiffy," he told her and strode off before she could even reply.

"Thank you, Aaron, you are always efficient and the cell phone is not too expensive but will serve its purpose. Daniel paused and stared at Aaron, he had known him long enough to know that there was something else on his mind
"What's on your mind?" He asked and Aaron gave him some documents
"Here are some documents that need your signature boss, how long are you still going to be here?"
"Just a short while, I have to go to the company so I'll look for a way to move to the city without raising suspicion" Daniel replied as he signed the documents, "something tells me that's not what's really on your mind though" he raised his brow at Aaron and waited for him to spill.
Aaron hesitated a little bit before spilling out what he had found out
"Boss, I heard that your father...."
"Do not refer to that man as my father, you know the drill" he warned, cutting Aaron short
"Sorry, what I meant was that Nicholas Calvin will be celebrating the silver jubilee of his marriage on the twenty-fifth"
"I don't care about what he does and you know that" Daniel growled
"The celebration is merged with the fifteen year anniversary of J&C corporation, he is celebrating ten years of ownership of J&C corporation."
Daniel's heart grew cold at that news, "that company was for my mother" he spat bitterly. Since Calvin had taken that company from his mother and changed the name from Jenny's Fabrics to J&C, he hadn't held any celebration in the company's name. J&C stands for Joey and Calvin, he had named his mother's company after himself and his wife, and that filthy bastard will surely pay for what he did to his mother.
It seems that Nicholas is becoming emboldened to celebrate a company that was never his, claiming his mother had willed it to him, and which Daniel knows that it is not possible.
"What do you want to do boss?" Aaron asked
"I won't let him have that party in peace, I think it's time for the illegitimate son to show up. I am going to that party"
"But boss, it could be dangerous, I'll go with you"
"No Aaron but thank you for your offer. They should be the ones scared of me"
"Just be careful boss"
"Get someone to remove all my pictures from my house, I'll be coming back next week"
It's time that he gets back to his world, too much, "but first, I'll need you to get something done. I'll need you to take care of a particular manager of a bar, I'll send you the details"
Daniel stepped out of the car and watched as Aaron drove away, he turned to leave and ran smack into Bella.
