Bella paced worriedly with a lot of things going on in her mind, what if something goes wrong? Daniel was still recovering and now he had endangered himself for his friend, she wished that she was the one there instead of him but Daniel had offered to do it before she could even say anything.
"You love him, don't you?" Brittany said as she observed how nervous and tensed her friend looked, she knew that because she felt the same way about Aaron
Bella glanced at Brittany, sighed, and sat next to her, "Yes, I do. I love him with the whole of my heart, you know; I wanted to divorce him when I found out that he lied to me about his identity but when I was kidnapped, I realized how much I love him and right now, all I can think of is that nothing should happen to him"
Brittany placed her head on Bella's shoulder and hugged her comfortingly, "I feel the same way about Aaron you know, I didn't know how much he meant to me until I received that call from you that he had been shot, my world turned on its axis and I knew that my life just would not be the same if anything happens to him....more so now that I found out that I am pregnant"
Bella jerked and stared at Brittany, "You are pregnant with Aaron's baby? Wow, congratulations" She paused when she saw the gloomy look on Brittany's face, "What's wrong?"
"I don't know how Aaron will feel about this baby, I mean, I don't even know if I want it"
"Of course you do, a child is a blessing"
"But..."
The door opened and the doctor came out, they both stopped their conversation and hurried toward the doctor
"Are you the relatives of the patients?" The doctor asked staring at them Bella quickly nodded
"We are the wives...my husband is Daniel Calvin...I mean Nikolai Klaus" Bella was unaware that she had automatically made the doctor believe that Brittany was the wife of Aaron but it didn't go unnoticed by Brittany
The doctor nodded, "they are both out of danger and are recovering safely in the ICU"
Both Bella and Brittany heaved a sigh of relief, "can we see them?"
"Of course, Mr Klaus is in ICU one," he said and turned to stare at Brittany, "Your husband is in ICU two"
Brittany felt a rush of warmth when he referred to Aaron as her husband and she didn't even correct him, it would be great to have him as her husband.
They both thanked the doctor and rushed towards the ICU.

*Brittany heaved as she stood in front of Aaron's ICU and slowly entered, he was sleeping and she took care not to wake him up as she sat beside him.
He looked so vulnerable in his sleep and her heart went out to him, tears streamed down her cheeks as she gently ruffled his hair
"You shouldn't cry" his voice came to her weakly and her gaze jerked to his face, he was staring at her softly and she smiled with tears flowing from her eyes
She wondered if she should tell him about her pregnancy
"Is something wrong?" He must have noticed her expression and she opened her mouth to tell him but she couldn't bring herself to,
"I...I love you" she said instead and he grew still, he didn't look so pleased about it either and her heart broke
"Brittany..." He started but she stopped him,
"No, don't say anything, please" she begged as tears of hurt flowed freely from her eyes, she don't want to hear him say anything for fear that he might outrightly reject her
"I should go, I shouldn't be here," she said and stood up
"Brittany..." He called again but she wasn't listening, she was already running towards the door
He doesn't love her, that one was obvious, no, she won't tell him about his child hence he might think she got pregnant on purpose just to tie him to her
She sobbed at the thought of her and her baby alone. Love sucks, why does she have to fall in love?
She didn't stop running until she flagged down a cab that would take her home.

Bella hugged Daniel as soon as she entered the ICU, "are you alright?"
"Of course, I am, how's Aaron"
"He is fine, Brittany is with him"
They both stared at each other, neither saying anything but each having a lot to say in their hearts
"I'm sorry..." They both said at the same time and paused
"I'm sorry that I didn't tell you I was Nikolai Klaus, please forgive me"
"Don't say anything, you mustn't stress yourself, I am not angry with you anymore, and thank you for saving my life. You've saved me countless times and I owe you my life"
"Does that mean that you won't leave?" He asked hopefully and she smiled
"Does this mean that you still need me in your life?"
"Of course I do, and even after the one-year contract expires, I wish to renew another contract with you, a forever kind of contract is what I want with you"
Tears misted Bella's eyes, "why would you want a forever contract with me? Before you take that step, there is something about my past you should know about" She swallowed as she thought about how to begin telling him about Jeremy
"I don't care about your past, I see it's painful for you to talk about it, you don't have to, I'm only just happy to Begin a new life with you
"But..." She began but he cut her off
"I love you, I love who you are now and that's it"
Bella stilled at his word, did he just say he loved her? She didn't insist anymore about telling him about Jeremy, if he didn't want to hear it, so be it.
"I love you too" she whispered, who cares about the past when she can start a new life and future with him.
If only she knew what this would cost her in the future, she would have insisted on telling him.
