George's POV.
"Cara?" I mumbled. My fist clenched voluntarily. "Trespasser."
She laughed, but Yul held my hand. So my heart races really fast. "Sorry, but I had to tell you." Tell me what? I wanted to cripple her knee and crumple her face. Right now.
She's still not losing her courage to persuade me with her games. Freak.
"Right, tell me." I'm confident. Yul is looking at me, totally bored. He wanted everything to stop right now, as well as me. All I want is to let this all pass by.
"I want to sleep with your husband," she confidently said, didn't mind what I told her earlier.
Yul and I gazed at one another, both furrowing our brows. Yul pulled me closer to him.
"Are you kidding me?" I asked. It's funny, I've got myself a hater when I'm not even trying— someone who thinks she could pass my rank to my husband's heart.
She shook her head. "I told you that I'm pregnant. We'll soon find out how. That's why I'm telling you this, I want to sleep with your husband. Let me surprise you when. Mind you, I wasn't asking for any permissions. I'm informing you."
Cara smiles devilishly, in a way she knows I hated the most. She turned her head away and elegantly walked away.
"Is she imagining that we're on a soap opera and she needed to act like she's the main character or something?" Cara's getting on my nerves.
Yul gently holds me closer as he cups my head, pressing his lips on it. "I don't care about her or anyone. All I care about right now is you and our messed up family, George."
I sighed. None of us talk after he speaks.
Our body moves away from one another.
A month has passed and we're still like this, living like we're some kind of a joke.
I don't know where my mind flies, why I couldn't accept him fully, at my own will.
Silence resounds, he knows I'm sure. I'm not ready for anything, not even for us. It's giving me a guilty feeling.
I know I shouldn't be, but to think that I'm enjoying myself and Hyeri's not as she lies in her bed already pains me. Argh...
Slowly, I walked to the door with Yul, where Hyeri's room lies. We went inside, and stare at her from afar.
"Should we do the operation?" he asked, once again. So many attempts have failed, and he's still trying to convince me. "Look, I know you're not convinced, but if we keep this up, we might end up putting her in her coffin at an early stage."
I slapped him.
Tears run down my cheeks. "I can't believe you thought of that!" I did it again on the other side. "What kind of father are you? Who do you think you are to decide for my daughter?!"
I was about to slap him again, but he caught it. "Stop... just stop! STOP! I wanted to ask you the same question, who do you think you are to decide?"
I'm shocked. His sudden change of behavior... I've seen this before, his exact facial expression is all I see now. How...
He knelt, and I can feel the tiredness in his voice as he speaks. "Do you think you're the only one who's hurting? But look, if we continue to feel this way and won't do something for our daughter, will she live as we weep? As we wait for the medication to do its job?"
"So are you saying I'm not capable of deciding for Hyeri?" I took a deep sigh.
"I'm saying we should both agree to the surgery!" He shouted.
"And what if it'll just cause her death?! The hospital won't be blamed because of the waiver!"
"So what, George? Is that all you care about? WHO TO BLAME?" It struck my heart. I felt a pang of guilt. Somehow... he was right.
I don't want Hyeri to die just like that without justice.
All of a sudden, he went berserk.
He pulled me out of Hyeri's room.
"LET ME GO!" He's hurting me, but he's not letting me go.
He put me inside his car and drove it somewhere.
"What the fuck, Yul?! Are you trying to kill me?" There's a handle on top of me, I used it as a support so I wouldn't feel like falling. "Damn it, Yul Matthew! You're insane!"
AAHHH! What is he doing to me?
He stopped in front of his house, our house before I flew to Japan.
He pulled me out and started to walk again inside that house. His family was there to welcome me but with remorse. Finally, he let me go when we reached his room.
"Piece of shit, what are you trying to do? You almost killed me back there!" I breathed since I couldn't while I was inside his car.
I looked around to stay away from his deathly stare, and that's when I saw pieces of paper lying around the ground.
"What are we doing here?" I asked. What's he trying to do? Does he really have to bring me all the way here? "Are we playing a guessing game?"
"Without your knowledge, I've asked several doctors for their opinions regarding Hyeri. They knew exactly that medication is only 5% successful rate, but the surgery is almost a hundred." He washed his face. "I compiled all of them here in my room because you wouldn't allow me to go home. Yes, that hospital wanted us to sign a waiver, but that's normal!"
"So you brought me here just to tell me all this shit?" I clenched my fist. "I'll go home."
He hugged me from behind. "George..." His voice is almost above a whisper. "Please don't make things hard for me."
Slowly, I removed his hands and walked away.
Maybe I was the problem. But I just can't.
Yul's POV.
"Two more drinks for Mr. Servano?" What a lovely drink.
"Thanks!" In one sip, I finish the drink. "MORE! How about you give me the whole bottle?"
"Stop," Flint took it away from me. "This is not you. Besides, you have work tomorrow."
I smirked. "Tch, Do I need to come when I'm the boss?"
"Yes, you do. Your business has to continue if you want to support Hyeri's surgery." Flint is a bit upset right now. I didn't ask him to come, it's just that, when I called for help, he insisted on coming.
James came too. In a blink of an eye, he gave me a punch.
I was shocked. "Dude, what's your problem?"
Flint helped me up. "James this isn't what I ask your presence for."
James shook his head. "I know," he said. "But I think our friend needs to lighten up his mind. Just because he married the most beautiful woman he met in his whole life, doesn't mean there's no end to it!"
"Psycho," I mumbled.
He picked me up. "Are you ruining your life? BECAUSE OF A MERE WOMAN?!"
I pushed him away. "DAMN, YOU! SHE'S NOT YOUR REGULAR WOMAN! SHE'S MY WOMAN!"
James continued to punch me as he gripped my collar. He punched me until I bled. But what is this feeling? I can't feel pain.
"I needed you to be yourself. Come back to your senses. Idiot," James whispered.
I closed my eyes. As I opened it once again, I saw a familiar woman.
"G-George?"
