THE DEVIL (GAEL)
BOOM
I hear a loud voice, a jolt that wakes me up from my sleep. I look around, I am in an unfamiliar place and then someone starts pulling me. I am being pushed to walk between the crowd. I don’t know where it is.
My mind was filled with whispers that I couldn’t understand.
A woman’s face appears in front of my mouth, her mouth keeps moving but I am not able to hear a single word of what she is speaking. My eyes feel heavy as I close them.
I feel like my body is swaying in the air, am I flying?
BOOM
I fall heavily to the ground, my bones crack and I feel pain but somehow I am able to stand. My surroundings are utterly quiet as I stagger towards the lake, I take some water in my hand and feel shocked when I see my face, I am a human.
As far as I remember, I was living above the clouds. How come I am on the land now and that too as a human?
I splash some water on my face and feel better. My ear still has that buzzing sound and suddenly I feel cold as if something was stabbed in my back.
I turn cautiously and see a woman on her knees, What the f**k?
I look at her shocked and horrified, she passes me a smile and then I hear her voice clearly, “I LOVE YOU.”
BOOM
She falls heavily to the ground, her face hits the ground and she flinches from the pain as she closes her eyes. I step forward to hold her and my eyes widen when I look at her back. Her back is filled with blood and she was stabbed by more than 10 small swords.
F**king Cruel.
I could see her flesh rip open and look around in panic, she needed help.
I bend down to check on her and she is unconscious, I check her breaths, those are shallows.
F**k, I am losing her.
One by one, I take out the sword and she flinches each time when I pull out one. Her blood smeared all over my hands and I seemed to lose my mind, my heart started to feel pain. I don't know why.
I keep staring at my hands that are colored in red and then I hear a low gasp from the girl’s mouth, “Gael.”
“Gael?”
BOOM
“Ahh…” I feel like someone has pulled me back with the force as the events of her life start to flash in my eyes.
Everything seems on fast forwards.
A girl enters a house with her friends, she falls in love, she is scared, she is burning, she survived but me.
BOOM
I open my eyes, I remember everything now.
“Ella.” I hold her in my arms as I caress her cheek, her eyes closed and she is gone. I start crying pathetically, What have I done to her? To my Ella?
If I hadn’t cursed her accidentally she wouldn't be lying in my arms dead today.
“Ella… Please wake up… Ella…”
I feel so unlucky when she was alive, I wasn’t there and when I come to life she is gone. Why can’t we both meet each other in the same life?
My tears smeared on her face as I pecked her whole face with my heart squeezing out my life.
“DEVILS DON’T CRY.”
I was lost in my grief when I heard a dark loud voice and knowing who this is, I looked up at him with deep hatred.
“You killed her,” I growl with Ella’s body in my arms.
“BECAUSE OF HER YOU BETRAYED ME, SO SHE NEEDS THE PUNISHMENT.” The Dark Lord says.
“I’ve never betrayed you, I have asked you for my life back. I just wanted to be with her, that’s all.” I yell furiously.
“BE WITH HER WITH OUR POWERS.” The Dark Lord scowls unhappily.
“I don’t want your powers, nothing. I just want my Ella back,” I sob as I hold my Ella tighter in my arms, her body is turning cold and blue now.
“YOU HAVE TO COME BACK TO US.” The Dark Lord commands and I refuse immediately, “No.”
I don’t care what the consequences would be of my disobedience, I don’t care I just want my Ella back or I should rather die with her.
Thinking of this, I pick up the sword that is covered with my Ella’s blood and then aim straight for my heart to end my life too.
“NO…” A shout comes and then a force tries to pull the weapon away from me, but I keep pressing it towards my heart with all my strength not giving up.
“I CAN BRING HER BACK.” The words sound during the chaos and I stop abruptly.
“Can Ella?” I look at the Dark Lord raising my brow in disbelief.
“IF YOU HAND ME OVER YOUR POWERS, ONLY THEN.” The Dark Lord’s words interrupt me and without thinking for a second I nod my head agreeing to his offer.
“I will give you everything, just bring my Ella back to life.”
He blinks his big red eyes and then suddenly Ella’s body gets lifted in the air by his powers as he starts chanting some words and soon a roll of wind covers Ella’s lifeless body making me lose her sight.
The wind stops rolling around her, giving me back her sight, and there I see her gasping and my eyes light up with joy.
“Ella.”
“AHH… AHH… THE POWERS.” I had just taken a step towards her when the Dark Lord reminded me.
I nod my head and then crossing my arms I start chanting the sacred mantras that allow the power to rise and then go to their new master.
“Ahhh…” I feel a heavy jolt as when the powers leave you, you are kind of abandoning them and they never like abandon as they leave the soul violently making it shattered into pieces but for Ella, I am willing to suffer anything.
I fell to my knees, heavily as all the powers left my soul, making me shattered.
THUD
“Am I free now?” I ask in a weak voice while staring firmly at the Dark Lord who has just consumed all my powers.
“YES, YOU ARE.” He says and then in a second, he vanishes from my sight and all the surroundings turn the same as before.
I see Ella lying on the ground and feeling panic. I rush to her and then shake her violently. No, The Dark Lord can’t betray me.
“Ella… Ella…”
COUGH… COUGH…
Ella coughs and then opens her eyes, “Ella.” I cry out as I hug her in my arms happily.
“You’re alive… You’re back.”
She looks disoriented and then she looks at me stunned, “Gael.”
“Yeah… It’s me.” I tell her and she hugs me tightly shedding tears in disbelief while I cry from the extreme overwhelming feeling of having her back in my arms alive.
“Ella, please Marry me.” I held her face and proposed to her from the depth of my heart. I don’t care if this is not the right moment If I don’t have a ring or any flower with me. I just don’t care, I want her to say Yes and be mine forever.
“Yes, I will.” She replies by making me kiss her deeply.
Finally, we both get our life back away from all the devils and powers.
