ELLA :
“I thought you really loved me,” The first sentence came out from Gael’s mouth as he stood near the door, looking shocked and frozen.
“I do love you but … we are different,” I told him, feeling nervous, sad, and scared too.
“I can make you like me. You can be a devil, Ella.”He tried to convince me but I shook my head with a sad smile on my face.
“But I don’t want this, Gael. I want kids, I want family, I want us to get old and watch our grandkids playing around us. I want an ordinary boring life Gael, not this. Not what you are offering me.”
I told him and my chest tightened, remembering all the fairytales I had been thinking of since my childhood but look at me now, in love with a devil and is going to kill him and also end my life too with him.
Seems like my fairytale remained to be a dream to me that I could never turn true.
“I can be whatever you want but not ordinary, Ella.”He said in disagreement and I smiled in understanding, “I know, Gael. That is why please forgive me.”
And then I lit a matchstick and BOOM.
Before I was able to throw it on the bed, Gael pounced on me. I used my power with one hand and tried to light the match with another. It was very difficult for me to do but still, I tried my best.
Gael was furious and even when he was weak, he seemed much more powerful to me, I winced in pain as his power was trying to defeat me and my hand, it was getting numb.
I was losing everything, my nerves, my consciousness, my powers, and my love, Gael.
I knelt on the ground weakly, I knew I am going to get defeated by him soon, but my mind was blank of any option to stop him or to save Oliver from him.
Just then, I heard a loud roar and BOOM
“Ahh…”Gael groaned in pain as Oliver had kicked him hard and pinned him down on the floor.
With the last strength in my body, I lit the match stick and threw it on the bed.
BOOM
Within a second, the whole bed was covered with flames and Oliver then threw Gael onto the bed. When Gael’s heart-wrenching cry came, at that moment I came back to my senses.
“Gael…”I yelled, painfully. He was burning right in front of my eyes and my heart was getting so painful. I squealed in pain and rushed to hold him in my arms.
At least, this last time, we both could hug each other and die in each other’s arms. Even if my story didn’t get a prince as I had always imagined since my childhood, at least I got pure love. A love that was always found in fairytales but gladly I found mine in reality even when it was from a devil.
“Ella…”Before I was able to get close to Gael, Oliver held me tightly and stopped me from jumping.
“We should leave now.”He yelled and then pulled me outside but I kept resisting him. “No… No… Leave me, Oliver… I want to die with him.”
“No… You’re getting crazy Ella.”Oliver shouted in anger, staring at me with slight irritation and displeasure.
“I love him,” I breathed heavily and confessed.
Oliver’s jaw dropped when he heard my confession, “No.”A cry of disbelief came from his mouth and his grip loosened on my arm.
Taking this opportunity, I pulled my hand away from him and ran into the fire that was bursting into a blaze, without even caring the utter warmth coming from the fire, I rushed to it yelling Gael’s name.
“I will die with you, Gael.”
And I jumped into the fire not fearing death at all, but surprisingly I didn’t get burned. Instead, I was pushed away with a force and I looked shocked at that bright light that was pushing me away from the fire.
“You… have… to… live….”Gael said with difficulty while groaning in pain, his body that was in Olver’s form had now turned into his original black shadow and it was now lit into orange flames burning badly.
“No…”Just when I opened my mouth, something heavy hit my chest and I fell out of the room heavily, rolling down the stairs and then I lost my consciousness.
BOOM
I felt too hot, where am I? I was sweating profusely, what is it? Am I in an oven? Or someone has put me in a burning volcano? Why is it too hot near me?
I was trying to figure out when I suddenly felt my body swaying in the air and then a gust of wind hit my body, calming the burning of my body.
Oh, it felt so good, this wind and cold. It felt like a blessing, and then I felt something soft under me.
SPLASH
Someone splashed water on me and I trembled, my eyes opened rapidly and then widened my eyes looking at Oliver’s face, the more shocking part was what was behind Oliver.
There were huge flames coming out from the windows and the whole house was on fire. Remembering the past moment, I exclaimed, “Gael…”
“He’s gone. You’ve finished him.”Oliver held my shoulders and said with a hint of pride. He hugged me with joy but my heart wasn’t feeling any joy at all.
I stared at the house that was burning in fire, my eyes were empty even when I wanted to cry I wasn’t able to shed a single tear from my eye.
Before Oliver could pull me away and see my sad eyes, the noises and sirens of police cars and fire rescue teams filled the surroundings.
“They are here.”Oliver squealed in joy and then rushed to one of the police cars while I stood still at my place staring at the house that was turning into ashes slowly slowly.
I then looked down at my wedding gown that had turned all black and also was burned from some places. I closed my eyes with heavy guilt as I whispered, “THIS IS THE END OF US”
