ELLA :
I am momentarily deaf, I look at the smoke around us, what just happened? I am not able to hear anything, I look at Alex his mouth is moving and he quickly takes out something from his bag and throws it at me.
I look down and see the pair of man's clothes and a scissor, I turn and I could see Gael’s eyes open but he looks too weak, I cut the ties on his foot and then quickly help him to wear clothes. I help him to sit up, and someone holds my arm firmly.
I look through the smoke and I see Alex’s stern face, “Run, Ella…”
He shouts at top of his lungs and grabbing Gael’s arm I rush out, there was a pool of people running to the main door, and I quickly pull Gael with me, even though he was weak I was able to make him walk.
Once we are outside I look around and instead of following people, I turn and drag him towards the jungle behind the hospital.
“Gael… are you ok?” I make Gael sit under a huge tree and ask worriedly as I pat his face, he looks half-conscious. What is happening, and why he is not back yet fully?
He is not able to speak properly he just keeps staring at me and I feel helpless as I look around cluelessly not knowing where to go.
“Ella?” I hear a shout, someone is calling me, Alex, surely.
I leave Gael and take a few steps towards the voice and I find Alex, thankfully. I sigh in relief.
“Who was it..?” I ask, trembling from fear.
“Those are his friends,” Alex says while looking at Gael with disgust.
“You mean devils?” I ask him.
“Yes, or maybe some other creature… We don’t know.” He says exasperatedly and we hear a weird loud cry.
“What is it?” I whisper.
“Hide, Ella…” Alex pulls me to the tree and we hide under it.
Alex looks up and frowns, “It’s still daytime, I can’t fight with them. My powers grow at night in the dark, not under the daylight.” He tells me anxiously and I look at him frightened.
What are we gonna do, now?
“F**k…” Alex turns to me and presses me to the tree with his hand as he looks at the other side with his head tilting to the side.
“We need something to distract them… The sun is going to set soon and then I will be able to fight them.” Alex whispers to me.
“Do you have anything in mind?” Alex looks at me and asks.
I ponder for a moment and then thinking of something, I tell him, “There is something I can use.”
He looks at me blankly, “What?”
“My powers.” I tell him, “But…” I stop and then nervously I continue, “You have to hit me.”
“What?” Alex raises his brows and looks at me puzzled.
“Yes, hit me. I want you to hit me, hard.” I tell him firmly.
He looks at me for a moment in hesitation and then tilts his head to look at those evil creatures and then finally he exhales in exasperation, “F**k, I am sorry, Ella but we have no choice left.”
As soon as his words finish, he raises his hand, and out of a sudden, a slap landed on my right cheek.
PAAA
The slap was so hard that it makes my skin tingle but still I am not able to see the sparks on my hand. “Again,” I tell him through gritted teeth, and this time he slaps me harder than before.
PAAA
The intensity of the slap was so hard that I stagger back unknowingly and I close my eyes to feel the pain, blood rushing in my body like fire and I open my eyes feeling rage and anger.
I look down and my hands show the spark, I smirk, “Let’s f**k these creatures.”
I walk out and see an ugly creature in the air flying, as soon as he notices me he strikes me with his power and I easily dodge it, smirking I look at him, “That’s all?”
He gets angry and strikes me multiple times but every time I am able to save myself. When he looks tired I stand in front of him and smirk, “Now, My turn.”
I stretch my arms and strike him with double force, his ugly body turns into ashes from the heat coming out of me and his cries were heart-wrenching.
I smile proudly and just then more creatures start to come out and soon I am surrounded by them.
“What do you want?” I shout angrily.
“The Devil, we need him back.” One of them comes forward and answers me.
“What devil? I killed him that day in the mansion.” I lie flawlessly and waited for them to believe but no, the one who looks like their leader with ugly thorns on his head starts to laugh sarcastically.
“Humans… Humans… Humans… You think we are fool creatures, we don't carry brains but we are more intelligent than the useless humans who carry brains for no reason.” He mocks and his laughter was evil.
I try to stay calm and confident not showing them any fear at all.
“I know you have brought him back, hand him over, he belongs to us. The dark lord is waiting for his soul.” He says in a dangerous tone and I take a step back frightened.
The Dark lord… Is he the one who has sent them all?
I look at the sky it’s getting dark and then I look at all the evil creatures that have surrounded me they all are up in the air. I turn and start to walk away from them slowly, I hear all the evil creatures laughing in victory.
They think I am going to get Gael for them but no, I was just trying to lose the time so that the sky gets fully dark and I would get my companion for the fight.
As expected the sun sets down and the sky turns dark, I smirk and then turn, “It’s night, Morons.” I laugh and they all look at me quizzically.
“Alex,” I shout and soon a huge brown wolf runs out from the woods, I run with him and then command, “Jump.”
He jumps so high and then howls, I get on him and as he jumps I strike my powers at the two creatures, and then Alex pushes me to the leader I hold his horns and he yells in pain, “Ahh…” I break his one horn and then stab him in his heart with the broken horn in my hand.
He cries painfully as I force it into his heart while Alex fights with the other two.
“Tell your dark lord to come over and fight with me because as long as I am here. You can’t take away my Gael’s soul.” I tell him and then pull out the horn from his heart swiftly.
BOOM
He falls to the ground with a loud thud and everyone fighting around stops, frightened. They look at me with fear in their eyes as I look up at the sky and suddenly I feel a jolt in me, I am burning in fire and there is a thunderous sensation around me.
I am flying in the sky as I look down at the remaining two creatures left.
“Take away him and send my message to the dark lord,” I tell in a firm voice, and taking their leader they vanish into the air immediately.
I lower myself to the ground and sigh in relief, the light still sparking around me, and then I hear a voice, “Ella.”
Soon the power subsides and I rush towards the tree where I had hidden Gael, “What happen?” I ask Alex anxiously, he is back in human form.
“Something happens… When you get powerful, he too looks alive but as soon as your power starts to vanish he again goes back to being weak.” Alex informs me and I look at him, surprised.
“Really?” I look at Gael with hope shining in my eyes and then shake his arm slowly, “Gael, are you ok? Gael?” He didn’t speak anything but just stares at me.
I am happy that at least he is back and alive even though he has not said a single word to me.
“Let’s take him somewhere safe,” I tell Alex and he nods his head, he turns into a wolf again and I put Gael’s weak body on him, he carries him as he walks and I follow them behind.
I see a beautiful clean lake, and taking a leaf I try to take some water in it and then feed some to Gael. I hope after drinking or eating something he will be able to get better.
I caress his hair as I kiss his forehead, “I will protect you, no matter what.”
OWWOOOO
Suddenly, Alex howls making me startle, and I glare at him but I hear his other howl, I could sense something is wrong.
“What is it?” I tell him and then pat his head. He looks terrified, why?
He steps back and suddenly the winds start to blow heavily making me momentarily blind and out of sudden everything stops.
It seems like the time has stopped as I look straight and see a huge black color shadow lowering to the ground, I look at him with a firm gaze and as the creature's face comes into my view I flinch from the fear and then gasps.
“The Dark Lord…”
