Their heads whipped up to see Ash standing on the roof of the building. She looked surprised to have seen Zuriña appearance.
"You're not wearing a wig today. It's interesting though, how a pureblood is disguised as a human. Surely monsters should live as monsters, right?" She said and tilted her head. "But I don't get something. You're a pureblood but why are you trying to coexist with such puny humans?"
"That's true. I used to live like a human but thanks to you guys, I've lost the only family I held dear and my life fell apart. Infact, just what is my mistake?" She yelled and crows crowed as they flew past.
That wasn't a good sign, Kaiwan thought to himself.
"You've made a mistake... Your very existence is the mistake." Ash said and suddenly sand rose in the air.
What was she trying to do?
She stretched her hands towards them and the dust suddenly engulfed them, sending them into a fit of coughing.
He tried to walk towards her but the dust kept pushing him back. This was going to be a serious pain.
A shadow flew past him and he knew it was Ash. He gritted his teeth and sped towards Zuriña only to see that she was holding Ash by the neck.
"Tell her to come here."
He frowned. What did she mean?
"What?" Ash coughed out.
"Not you the fake. I'm talking about the real one." She said and threw her to the ground and the disguise wore off.
"Again?" Kaiwan asked.
"Stop stalling and come out quickly." Zuriña said and to his surprise, Ash jumped down from the roof.
He was still wondering if she was the real Ash when another Ash jumped down and soon, other disguises were jumping towards Zuriña.
"Satisfied?" One of them asked and Kaiwan wondered what she was aiming to do with so many vampires disguised as Ash.
"What I want is the real one, not a bunch of fakes, so your calling me out here is to show me these minions?"
"This is just the start." They chorused and Zuriña laughed.
"I see." She paused and massaged her neck with her hands. "But even if the dust gathers, it's still dust."
Their eyes all brightened up. "What did you say?"
Kaiwan's jaw dropped as Zuriña's blue eyes brightened for the first time.
This was going to be a serious battle.
"It's my turn to respond now, right?" She said and curled up her fist.
"Did you really think that I didn't much thought when I planned this?" She asked.
"What do you mean?"Kaiwan asked.
"Have a look."
A light shone on them and they turned to see it came from a projector. To his surprise, his house was displayed on it.
"Why is she showing me this?" He asked and his mind finally came around. Ash had summoned them there after making so many copies of herself...
"Don't tell me..." He was saying when the house suddenly went up in flames.
"No!"
"Detective." Zuriña called as he hurriedly slipped out his phone from his pocket to dial his sister, praying she was no longer in the house.
She answered on the third ring. "Kaiwan."
He heaved a sigh of relief. "Are you okay? You're no longer at my place, right?"
"I left minutes ago. Is something going on?" She asked.
"No, I just wanted to know if you arrived home safely."
"Alright."
"And don't come near the house for a while. I'll let you know later in details." He said and hung up.
"Woah, did you really think I'll let you guys pass just like that? How about this?"She asked and the scene of the projector changed to reveal Zuriña's siblings tied up, a bomb strapped to them.
"My God..."
Tears welled up in her eyes and she turned to yell. "Take those off them this instant...Take it off."
He hurried over to her. "Zuriña, you need to calm down."
"Those are the same bombs I used to blow up the detective's house and I'll also blow up your siblings after thirty minutes."
He was fast, but there was no how he could get there in half an hour. So that was why she had called them out.
He exhaled and he turned to Zuriña, whose cheeks were glistening with tears.
"You have the choice to save your siblings. That is to enter the password to disarm the bomb but the one who has the password is the real me..."
She was pretty clever of her but with Zuriña's power, she could just wipe them all out, but she needed to keep them alive.
"Zuriña, we still have enough time, so trust me. You need to stay calm on this...I know how strong you are, but I've learnt something while you dealt with Sahan and Lucian...They might be strong and trained well, but they're only worth a dozens of bullets for a pureblood..." He was saying when the disguises jumped towards them. So that was the plan, they were going catch her off guard.
He made to cover her but she pushed him away before he could, and the disguises leapt on her, forming a huge heap.
"Zuriña." He called as suddenly the heap exploded and Zuriña raked her fingers through her hair with a murderous glare.
"How dare you use that kinda attack against me? You shouldn't have touched what you touched."
An idea struck Kaiwan as he rose. "Provoke her." He turned to say into his earpiece.
"What?" She turned to ask.
"Just do it."
She paused and she turned to look at them. "Ash, didn't you tell me to live as a monster as I am a monster myself. Then how about you? Why are you hiding your identity as Julian and disguising yourself as your friend?"
"Didn't I tell you not to mention her name?" One yelled.
"Shut the fuck up."
"Why did you take her body away from her? Why are you hiding the fact that you're Julian Scott?"
"Shut up."
Kaiwan spotted the real Ariel and he zoomed over to grab her by the neck and pinned her against the wall.
"Found you."
She was surprised. "How did you..."
"How did I find out?... A piece of cake. You were the only sad Ash among the crowd." He said and the disguises disintegrated.
Zuriña walked over to them, a grateful look on her face.
"Shouldn't you tell me the password?"
Ash looked like she was going to talk but she suddenly scoffed. "Get lost."
He couldn't hit a girl, but Zuriña sensed that and hit Ash hard across the face before she pushed the detective aside.
"The detective might go easy on you, but that doesn't mean I will. What's the password?"
She smiled. "Kiss my ass."
"Sure, I will." She said and sent a thrust into her stomach and Ash spewed out blood, staining Zuriña's face.
She didn't seem to mind though, as she threw Ash against the floor and walked towards her.
"Look at yourself. This is your real face offstage. Is this the future you wanted for yourself?"
Ash coughed up blood and she continued.
"Let's end this. Are you doing this because you feel guilty? I don't want to get into a meaningless fight."
Ash scoffed. "Meaningless? I thought you were fighting to save your siblings."
Zuriña seemed dumbfounded."Alright, you asked for this." She said, curling her fist.
She threw punches into her face, and blood spewed out as she ruined Ash's face.
"Tell me the password...Tell me now."She yelled.
"Alright...On one condition."
"What's it?"
"Give me your heart."
