"Zuriña, wait..." Kaiwan screamed as he ran towards the scene, but she was too mad to listen as she jumped to attack him.
He made to launch an attack but she was faster than him. She jabbed his stomach, and he staggered back.
She flew towards him but he sent his fist after her which she dodged before smacking him on the face, almost exposing his identity.
She walked towards him and he made to launch another attack but she counterattacked his move, running her claws around his lower stomach.
Master yelped in pain as he held to his stomach and she wondered why someone as weak as him was a Master.
She walked over to grab him by the neck and sent her fists flying everywhere on his body.
"Let's see your face before you die." She said and reached out to tear off his mask.
The evening wind blew his hair to obstruct his face and she grabbed him by the collar as she pulled him up, exposing his face.
The man behind the mask trembled and she scoffed.
"You're the so called Master?"
"Zuriña..." Kaiwan called and the man stuck out his foot to kick her in the stomach, sending her crashing her back on a tree.
Kaiwan ran to her almost immediately, a worried look on his face. "Are you alright?"
It wasn't him.
"Mas... Master." She stuttered.
"Zuriña, I just realized something...That person..."
"No." She interrupted and he looked at her.
"What?"
"That person isn't Master." She revealed.
"That's right."
His body trembled on seeing her up close. The aura she had felt at the beginning was gone too. He was just one of Master's minion.
The man staggered as he rose. "My role here has finished."
A hiccup escaped the man's lips and they turned to see him, trembling like he was hypnotized. Kaiwan raised his arm to cover her and she was still puzzled when the man suddenly exploded.
Kaiwan grabbed her by the shoulders. "Zuriña, listen to me carefully. This was all a play."
"What?" She turned to him.
"I've been investigating, the people in this town, the town that looks like it was recovered. All of them are outsiders who have lived less the three years. They're not real residents of this place." He said.
No wonder the grandma didn't recognize her.
"Then the one who planned all these..."
"That's right...the real Master is...Yiannais Peterson. They had planned for you to come to this place." He said and her heart started racing.
"That's impossible." She said and turned to Yiannais' body, only to realize the disguised had faded off and the man turned out to be someone else.
Her legs were shaky and she held onto the tree for support. "Then that article..."
"It was just a coincidence. It was to lure you here."
The air around her seemed to cease and her legs seemed to give way under her. It was impossible.
"Zuriña? Zuriña?" Kaiwan called as he tried to reach for her.
"Today's plan went well." Yiannais said as he looked out through the window of his car, headed for his home.
Levi took his hand in both of his. "Are you alright, Yian?... I missed you. Have there been any signs of the pureblood? What are you going to do now? I will carry out your orders immediately, Master Yian."
He shook his head. "No. Let her be. She's going to be perfect on her own."
"Zuriña, say something."
What actually happened? Why did Yiannais do that? Why did he do that to her?
"This will be a good sensation." The words of Master repeated in her head.
"To enjoy tasty food, the necessary ingredients must also go through a process."
A megrim attacked her and the floor gave way under her. The world seemed to be spinning and the detective along with it. She could hear her heart in her ears as the megrim increased and she gnashed her teeth, trying to put out the pain.
Yiannais used to be so kind.
"I accidentally saw it when I walked in.The frame was about to fall." He had told her.
Why?
"I saw you today. I can stop being a pastor. I'm even willing to die "
"Zuriña, get a grip... Zuriña." Kaiwan yelled.
Why?
It all come crashing down to her.
She remembered.
The one who burned down her hometown.
The one who killed her mom and dad was
Yiannais.
She remembered everything.
The reason why her mom and dad died.
If only she hadn't told them to go back.
If only she hadn't taken her father and mother to that place back then.
If she had at at that moment...
