Keenan.
Rage surged through my body as I made my way up the front stairs and into the house. I made sure to bang the door shut but the 'bang' didn't do anything to justify the anger I was feeling. I was mad. The bitter feeling in my throat was so strong I could taste it.
I walked up to my room and slumped on the bed fisting, unfisting, clenching and unclenching my jaw to stop myself from doing anything rash but the exercise was doing nothing to keep my anger down.
"Babe," Isadora drawled, slowly rising from where she was sitting and reading a book. "Remember the lessons. Breathe in and out, gently and slowly."
"Don't Isadora," I stood up and started pacing. "Don't you dare tell me to call down because I have every right to be angry. To be mad even." I stopped pacing and faced her, " that stupid bitch that called herself Aurora thinks she can come back after ten years, ten whole years and spoil everything I have worked for.
Isadora dropped the book she was reading on the hair and inched closer to me, her face hardening instantly. "What did she do this time?"
"The wedding! She made Tiffany call off the wedding. I overheard her telling the queen that she can no longer go ahead with it." I answered the question boldly written on her face."
"And you think Aurora is responsible for it?”
“Who else would it be if not her? Tiffany was approved for Ethan by the queen and they were already planning a wedding. It is only a rekindle between Aurora and Ethan that would make her call the wedding off.”
“So after everything, that stupid sister of mine had the guts to get back together with Ethan. How cheap and shameless can she be? Just she wait and watch me expose their silly little affair.” Isadora made to walk out the door but I grabbed her wrist and pulled her back.
“Do you not think, Isadora? Aurora has the whole pack at the tip of her fingers right now, do you think anybody would listen to you? Nobody would slander her in fear of not getting the cure.”
“But she is having an affair with the Alpha who is engaged to someone else.”
“Yes, but this is not the time to say anything against her. Plus, the whole pack would start saying bad things about us without knowing that we are trying to help them. Aurora is not supposed to sit on that throne as Luna, the throne is mine and I get to choose whomever is to sit next to me.”
“Me. I get to sit next to you.” I threw Isadora a look and went to occupy the seat she stood from. “We need to do something about Ethan and Aurora before they become official. I can't have Aurora next to Ethan, it would make my work more difficult.”
I waited for Isadora to go on and think of a plan but she stood there, her eyes fixed on me and waiting for me to come up with something. I wasn't surprised though, she never thinks and when she does, it was always useless thoughts.
“This is the perfect time to strike. According to my informant, Ethan is currently occupied kissing that doctor's ass and playing assistant doctor to notice anything going on around him. That little minion of his is the person running things now.”
“The Queen?”
My brows creased as I looked up at Isadora. “No, Sam. Heavens, you really do not think.”
“Right, Sam.” She perched at the edge of the bed and faced me, “ Sam can be strong headed but he isn't that much of a threat, he can easily be eliminated and I don't know what you might be thinking, but I'm suggesting we kidnap and kill the both of them. Ethan and Aurora.” She continued when she saw my questioning look. “That unused land we have at the outskirts of the pack. We can kill them and dump their bodies there.”
My brows remained creased as I stared Isadora down. She reasoned like a sane person one percent of the time, other times, she came up with the most ridiculous and most absurd thoughts. “First of all, I submit the revenue of my land every month and that was what I was going to do at the palace today before I overheard Tiffany, that land is not unused. And secondly, let's say we kidnap, kill and dump them there as you suggested, don't you think that the whole pack would come looking our way seeing that we've had a kind standing animosity?”
“Oh, I didn't think that.”
“Of course you didn't.” I muttered with a roll of my eyes. “Don't worry, I will think of something. As usual.” I stood up from the couch and made to leave the room when my phone pinged with a message. I pulled it out and my shoulders tensed when I saw notification with the royal email.
“What's that? Who texted you?”
“The royal house.” I walked back to where I was formally seated and clicked on the email and read;
Dearest distinguished guest,
To congratulate the Doctor, Aurora and to celebrate the survival of our pack, you are invited to a celebratory dinner tomorrow night at the palace at seven hundred hours. Feel free to bring a plus one and come celebrate with us.
RSVP to this invite if you would attend.
“Wow.” I blew out a rush of breath, my cheeks widening with smiles.
“Are you sure the email was meant for you? I mean, I thought they would cancel us after the last dinner we had.”
“Cancel us? They can't. My family has served the royal house for generations, they can't just cancel us.”
“Would you attend then?”
I huffed out an angry breath, “of course I would attend, Isadora. The opportunity just presented itself and I am going to utilize it. So prepare, we are going for dinner tomorrow at the palace. We are going to congratulate Aurora for saving our pack, as the future Alpha and Luna, it is only right we do so.”
“I still don't believe she just found the cure to the plague all of a sudden. I suspect something very fishy happened.”
My face lit up immediately and I walked up to Isadora, grabbed her face and planted a kiss on her forehead.
“For the first time today, you have said something that made sense. Yes, there is something fishy about her finding the cure all of a sudden, something I bet Ethan doesn't know about. But tomorrow, my sweet dear, we will come to learn all about that. All about how she made her big discovery.”
