“What do you mean you have no idea where it is?!” he boomed. The hate he felt for her had never been risen to such heights.

“I am sorry cousin. Was that flash drive important to you?” she asked, again feigning innocence. “I had no idea.”

“Stop bullshitting me Carmilla! You know exactly where it is. You would not let something like that get out of your sight without your knowledge or consent!”

Carmilla smiled a taunting wicked smile. That for once in the entire time he had known her actually reached her eyes. “My my, I believe this is the first time in seven hundred years that I have managed to get such a raise out of you.”

Sakaer realized his mistake all too late. Now she knew just how to pick at him.

“It is refreshing. And to think it is all because of a weak little human.” The unspoken threat was clear in her voice.

He bared his fangs. “Keep quiet you bitch!” he shouted. He picked up a wooden armchair beside him and hurled it at her. The armchair came rushing towards her and she did not so much as move an inch. The armchair made contact with her and shattered to pieces and splinters against her body. Like glass against a rock. She emerged unscathed.

Carmilla calmly stood up as if nothing had happened, dusting debris off her person and looking like she did not have a care in the world. Her red robe was partially ruined, ripped and torn in places and her hair had fallen free from the restrictive bun she had put it in. “Attacking your own mistress? Oh cousin, first sloppy, then easily played and now attacking your betters? That human has really done a number on you, hasn't she?” she stated.

In a blink of an eye she was not behind the desk anymore, she had moved faster than even he could see and his eyes darted around the room but they could not find her. The shadows lending her aid to hide. “Come out here and face me!” he thundered.

“Have you fucked her yet?” Her voice came from the shadows. Taunting. He could not let himself listen to her. She just wanted to get inside his head. Confuse him. She chuckled. “What am I saying? Of course you have.” Spite dripping from her words.

Sakaer's eyes peered into the darkness from where her voice had come from but when she spoke her voice came from the other side of the room. “You must have really enjoyed it if you want to leave a being like me for a mere mortal.” she remarked.

Then her voice came from all sides of the room. “Does she even know who you are? What you are?” she asked. The sound of the collection of her voices, each one an exact mirror copy of the original, talking in unison made his head spin.

“Does she even know your name? Your real name. Tell me?” she asked. Her tone quickly replaced by fake curiosity because she knew the answer to her question all too well.

Carmilla went on. “Do you think she will love you once she comes to know everything?” She whispered, her voice silken and charged. More concentrated. “Do you think she would willingly stay with you?”

She would. He told himself. She would understand. She would see how precious she was to him. And she would stay.

Carmilla whispered. “We both knew she will not.”

And in that hollow moment, he saw his lily turn her back to him and run, screaming and crying.

“Whatever happens to her has no real consequence to you and same goes for her.” Carmilla explained. She was at his back now, wrapping her arms around his chest and clinging to him with her sharpened black claws. The lethal needle-like points puncturing his skin through the layers of his clothes while he stood frozen and went down a tunnel of proposed sadness and pity.

She rested her chin on his shoulder. “Most importantly, she will not last. You know this. At some point in time all mortals must expire. So why concern with them at all except for fun and food.”

His lily was not just fun and or food. She was someone who he truly wanted to make a life with. Someone who knew joy and would not look at him as nothing but a tool, a puppet or a pawn in their game.

He struggled against her grip. “Let go of me!” he demanded. His growl carried throughout the room, taunting him as much she as did.

She went on like she had not heard him, winding her spell even tighter and harder. “Besides, she already has a list of men who want her. And you know you as far as she is concerned, you are not on that list. That is why you are trying so hard to get her attention.”

That was not true! Somewhere on that list was his name. He knew it. It was in the way she smiled at him and the way her hear galloped like a horse when he said the smallest things. He felt Carmilla's hand hook on his jeans. “Stop it!” he demanded looking at her from the corner of his eye.

Again she ignored him and his struggles. “If it is attention you seek, then I can give you all the attention you want and more.” she stated. Her hand dipped into his jeans.

No!

She grabbed him and started pumping.

He had to think fast before he succumbed.

“You are just trying to keep me from going out there to find the flash drive.” he hissed. “This has nothing to do with your jealousy or my wants and needs, does it?”

Her rubbing grew faster. More urgent. Much more.

“It is just you trying to get everything you want all at the same fucking time!” he roared.

The furious look on her face said all he needed to hear. He tore her off of him, grabbed the arm on his chest and threw her across the room. Her back connecting with the stone wall before she flipped mid air and landed on her feet. The force of his throw still sending her skidding against the wooden floor.

He remembered how Carmilla had come to him more than a thousand years ago. Claiming she loved him and wanted to do so for all eternity. He had not believed her at first but over time he began to and that had his downfall. The monent everything had been taken from him. And now he had found happiness, she wanted to pull the fucking leash on his neck.

He charged at her and she met him head on, eyes blazing just like his. It was obvious who had more strength but a millennia's worth of hurt, bitterness and rage could do wonders.

He had chosen to be with the creature that was her. And when it came time to introduce him to her world, instead of lover and consort she had given him the title of cousin. Cousin!

Carmilla broke them apart from their locked fists and punched him square in the chest. Sakaer flew towards the other side of the room and a sword pierced through his stomach. Black blood bleed from the four inch would but there was no pain. If this sword had been blessed like in the old days, that would be a totally different story. Carmilla flashed in front of him and drove him more onto the sword. More blood spilled from his mouth.

“It seems you have started running wild. Surrender to your Mistress Sakaer.” she commanded. Her hand his chest inching his body down towards the swords hilt.

The hatred in his eyes burned with a silvery defiant fury. “Never.” he wheezed. Baring his fangs even then as he was trapped and face with the same death he had delivered for countless years.

“The only reason you are still alive is because of your usefulness but it looks like you are choosing to no longer be useful.” she analyzed. The claws on her free hand erupted and she raised it ready to slash him to pieces. “Since that is your wish allow me to grant it for you.” she chimed. Her red eyes sparkling with the promise of watching the life drain from his eyes. The promise of a kill.
