CHAPTER 75

Rita read the email and Samuel's response over and over again. So he was not even going to consider why she did not want to do this? And what did he mean by ‘arrangements’? And true to his word, he did not reply anymore of her emails.

Was there not supposed to be some communication going on between them in this work arrangement? At the very least, letting her mention the things that might hinder her work.

Today, she did not have the strength to go to the bakery. After the fiasco yesterday, it seemed her energy had been completely sapped. All she wanted to do right now was lie down, watch T.V. or better yet just go back to sleep.

She did not get it, was she not supposed to able to be mostly rearing to go at this point? Then why did she feel like a wet bag of bread?

She rang for Bernard five minutes ago but he never arrived. Same thing with Alice. At first she thought they had not heard the bell but then she called their names and they did not answer. Something was off.

Rita got her wobbly legs off the bed and set them on the floor. She was not sure if she would get any further than the seat at the foot of the bed. She hauled the rest of herself up from the bed and took a small step to test her legs. They held. She took a second more bold step and her legs did not give out. Maybe she was less tired then she had actually thought she was.

She made it to the hallway and called for Alice and Bernard. Again neither of them answered. Rita was really getting worried now.

She was at the second to last room on the last floor and still no sign of them. Did they leave without telling her? Or–

Rita heard a sound from the last room and she kept silent. Maybe the silence was getting to her, then she heard it again. And it was coming from the last room below the stairs. Rita drew forward. Common sense would have told anyone else to turn around, find her phone and call security but Rita being Rita decided to let her curiosity drive her to check.

Rita palmed the door knob. The door was closed but not locked. Whoever was in there obviously thought that they were not going to get caught. They did not know she was onto them. Rita turned the door knob and burst into the room. And nearly threw herself out.

Bernard and Alice looked back at her, wide eyed and naked. Alice shrieked and jumped away from Bernard, their bodies separating with an audible squelch. Alice reached for the sheets, taking most of the sheets with her to cover herself. Bernard scrambled for the pillows.

Both of them being naked and obviously in the middle of sex was not what caught her main attention. It was the lightly bleeding bite mark on Alice's shoulder.

Alice stood in front of Rita and she looked absolutely mortified. Bernard looked like he wanted the ground to swallow him up and Rita wanted nothing more than to not be here right now.

“Sooo…” she began, the awkwardness of the situation and the tension still high.

“About your–”

Bernard was the first to speak up. His voice still as professional as over. “Madam, I'm so sorry you found us in such a compromising position.” he apologized. His hair falling into his eyes before he smoothened the loose strands back into place.

She found that hard to believe. What she knew he really meant was that he was sorry about her finding them out in the first place. So early in the damn morning. His black hair was still messy from where Alice must have run her hands through.

“Please don't tell anyone about what you saw.” he pleaded.

And there it was. The begging. The general please don't say anything so I won't get in trouble routine.

Unlike Bernard, Alice's voice quivered and there were tears in her eyes. “Please we are begging you.” Her uniform was creased and rumbled. Her curly brown hair in a slightly off and messy bun. Her lips were swollen and the bite mark was hidden by the uniform but still there nonetheless.

“Give me one reason why I shouldn't march out of this apartment and tell the hotel manager.” Rita asked, looking straight at Bernard. His guilty red eyes met her own but could not hold them. He looked down to the floor, gritting his teeth.

“Please.” Alice begged. Taking Rita's hands in hers.

Rita looked at those tears and the pleading eyes they fell from. “I need a reason why I should do that first.” she stated. She wanted to know if this was all consentual or forced. If she was clean or addicted.

Bernard stepped forward and grabbed one of Alice's hands. Alice jerked her head to look at his face.

Bernard looked into Rita's eyes then. Angry. Desperate. “We don't need to explain–”

“It's for my baby.” Alice blurted.

For a moment, Rita stopped, surprised by Alice's words. She furrowed her eyebrows. A baby? Bernard did not seem to be surprised.

“Do you really expect me to believe that?” she asked. Tilting her head to the side and looking sideways.

Alice tore her arm away from Bernard and sent it back to Rita. “Please just let us explain.” She begged. One minute passed and then two. The both of them stuck , Bernard prime and ready make a run for it.

Riat caved in. “Alright fine. You have three minutes. So make it good”

Black blood lay splattered against the walls, the viscous liquid dripping down the walls to pool on the floor and more continued to join as she kept hacking at his body. It had taken a full day but she was finally done.

Sakaer's body lay mutilated against the wall of her study wall. Impaled by one of the swords she had collected over the many millennia and stripped of flesh by her claws and teeth. Everywhere from her chin down to the front if her robe was stained with his blood.

She really did not want him to have been so stubborn but she had given him plenty of chances to quit while he had been ahead. That was what she got for turning humans and giving them any sort of power. She had been young, newly awakened and obsessed with creating her own horde. Sje had chosen less carefully and on only few criteria. The ones that managed to impress her, she deemed them worthy enough to be family. Clearly, that was not enough for some. Like all mortals, they wanted more. And slowly became fools for it.

Sakaer, as she had renamed him on the day of his rebirth, was strong, quick, with a head for efficient and painful deaths and enough energy to keep her pussy entertained for as long as she wanted. He was fun but she could not let him have what he wanted. Which was to be by her side, as an equal. An equal, could anyone imagine that?!

Being bound for all eternity to a weak demon who was only as good as the heads he rolled to their feet. He was a good servant. A good slave who was ready to drop everything and anything at her beck and call. It was all going smoothly until two years ago when he met the human woman he was so obsessed over. She had sent him away for a while, thought a short eight month break from Alvas would remove her from his system. But she was wrong. And the realization tasted bitter in her mouth.

Anyway, now he was dead. And all because of a stupid piece of human technology that contained something about that woman. Oh how the mighty hast fallen. Carmilla stepped away from the body and made for the door. All she wanted right now was to wash off the stench of Sakaer's weakness from her body and a mortal to bleed dry of blood and life.

But before she could make it to the door, something fell on top of her. And for the second time in her long existence Carmilla found herself with the urge to scream in fright
