"What's with your look?"
We ordered snacks and a fruit shake as a drink for the three of us. I really hate talking about with the past because I am getting myself shy!
"Nothing. I think you for got when we go to a friends party. That party is like this one. The only thing, we where drinking alcohols not this fruit shake."
After I sip on the shake, I watched my brother talking with a little girl. I never know if that woman is here and doing something that might dangerous for my brother.
"Hou can go with Calvin if you want. I'm goinf to stay here," sabi ko bago muling uminom sa fruit shake ko.
"Let him be a free child. I hate going somewhere when I'm with you."
Natutop ang dila ko dahil sa patutsada niya na namang linya.
"You know that you only have one week and five days, right?"
Hindi ko naman dapat na ipaalala pa sa kaniya ngunit sa tuwing nagsasabi siya ng mga matatamis na linyahan ay sumasakit lang ang dibdib ko. I really hate this guy for being sweet. Or maybe he remembered something on the past.
"Can we just not talk about countdown or something? Remeber that we were going to Boracay tomorrow."
Hindi ko alam kung saan siya humuhugot ng lakas para magpatuloy sa pansamantalang sitwasyon na ito. Ayokong maging selfish pero ayoko rin na pareho kaming masaktan. One thing I am sure, I love him. I don't want to leave him alone but I have not choice.
We are talking about good moments when my phone suddenly ring. It was from an unregistered number. I tried to answer but didn't talked.
"Do you really know that guy with you? I actually asked this to you when we met yesterday. What'd the score between you and that guy?"
My forehead creased because of the voice on the phone. I actually doubted first who was on that voice not until I remembered something.
"I am just near you. Don't worry, I am just here to make sure nothing will happen to our brother. “
Nanatili akong tahimik habang nagmamasid sa paligid. I can’t help it but to get worried.
“I want to give you a chance to know everything about him. Sister, I’ll keep you on the track-“
“Why?”
“What do you mean by ‘why?’”
“I don’t acknowledge you as my sister. Don’t you ever go near with my brother because I can’t keep calm.”
“You probably don’t know that I am older than you. Hindi ba dapat ay ginagawa ang tungkulin ng panganay?” pang iinis pang ani niya.
“Don’t bother me anymore,” after I said that I hang up the phone.
“Who was that?”
“It’s nothing.”
Sinubukan ko pang iikot ang sariling paningin bago tumingin kay Roge.
“I think we should start planning our trip to boracay.”
Nanatili akong nakatitig sa naglalarong si Calvin habang hinahantay ang susunod na sasabihin ni Roge. Nanatili pa rin akong kinakabahan dahil sa maaaring mangyare. Sa totoo lang ay wala akong pakialam kung sino siya ngunit hindi ako maaaring magpakampante.
“Then looked at me while talking. What plans do you want to talk about?”
Natigilan lang ako ng lumapit pa siya sa akin habang nagtatanong.
“I think we should go there for only a week and then we should headed home after.”
“I thought we will going to stay there for Two weeks and days?”
I got tired that day because of thoughts crossing my mind. Masyadong okyupado ang utak ko dahil sa biglaang pagtawag niya. We planned to schedule a flight that night.
“I am going back to Manila. Safe flight for the three of you.”
“Wow!”
“Looked ate! It’s a big gold fish!”
“Hey! Stop doing that! Baka mahulog ka sa tubig!”
We spend days together without knowing what will happened tomorrow.
“I told you this is not allowed.”
Nanatili pa rin akong nakakunot sa kaniya ng may kasabay pang paglunok.
“Can’t you sleep?”
This is our third night in boracay but then here we are again can sleep because of thoughts. I enjoyed staying here with him and my brother.
“How about you?”
Tahimik akong tumingin sa langit bago tumitig sa kaniya.
“This is the last day of my term as an attorney.”
Nakita ko ang gulat sa kaniyang mga mata habang seryoso pa rin akong nktitig sa kaniya.
“I didn’t chose this but maybe this is the consequences of what I did. “
He sounded speechless. Maybe he know what I’ve been doing outside. He know what hardwork I’ve made to became on attorney.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
Because I know you might got angry. I don’t want to tell him the reason and I hope he can understand it.
“Do you know why I want to became an attorney?”
“Is this still because of your mother?”
“No.”
Ipinagsalot ko pa ang dalawang kamay bago tumingin sa malayo.
“Because I know, I might do things out of my hand. I needed to know where ‘s my destination after this.”
I kept telling myself that everything would be done soon.
“Stop.”
He tried to save words from me.
“Don’t talk about it again.”
He tried to walkout but I grab his hand and looked at him.
“Don’t you dare came back for me after this. Keep your promise.”
“I told you to stop.”
Seryosong mukha lang ang ipinapakita niya sa akin bago tuluyan niyan tinanggal ang pagkakahawak ko sa braso niya at hinawakan iyon.
“I can’t.”
After that he left without saying anything. Parehong matigas ang ulo namin ngunit sa ganitong pagkakataon ay hindi ko maaaring ipahamak siya sa mga bagay na pinagsisisihan kong gawin.
I didn’t sleep that night dahil sa pag iisip kay Roge. Ayokong mapahamak siya ngunit ano nga ba ang dapat kong gawin upang pumayag siya sa gusto kong mangyare. After that day, he tried to avood my gaze. He keep his distance to me like we never spend our time together.
“Help!”
We are enjoying the heat of the sun when we heard voices around the beach..
