“No” Lucian ran towards Denise changing into his wolf to save her from Cabello but it was too late.
He had already sliced her neck with his claws and dropped her body to the ground.
Lucian watched in horror how Denise fell to the ground lifeless, he could feel his whole world crumple as he felt empty instantly but his heart was filled with pain. The pain of losing his mate.
“This is all your fault?” Cabello said seeing him, he felt bad about killing his own niece but he had no other choice, he had to liberate her than let her turn into a wolf.
“You killed her” Lucian muttered to himself as he dropped down to the ground suffocating in the pain of having his mate killed in front of him. He had been warned several times by the dreams he had but yet he wasn’t able to save her despite the warnings given to him. He felt useless and broken as he stared at her. What kind of mate was he that he couldn’t even save her.
“I wouldn’t have killed her if you hadn’t changed her, you are the reason for this. You are the reason why my niece is dead” Cabello cast the blame on him, he had no one else to punish for making Denise become a wolf and to make it all worst, she was mated to him and accepted to be a wolf despite her mother’s warning. He couldn’t let Lucian cut his cake and have it and that was why he had to take Denise away from him so that he could find a cure but still Lucian was able to make his way to their lives once again ruining things for him.
He hated him, he hated his guts, he hated the things he did to his niece and how he could never find a solution to it.
He moved closer to him with the knife in his hand to kill him at his weak and most vulnerable state which was what he was right now, kneeling down to the ground feeling regretful. Lucian was more hurt by Denise’s death than him because he was her mate and they had a special connection.
“My niece would still be alive if you hadn’t done this for her, you are the reason she is dead” he yelled at him as Lucian was unmoved kneeling on the ground holding his chest in pain.
He stabbed his shoulders but Lucian didn’t react,
“Fight back you piece of shit” he yelled at him as he kicked him.
He got on top of punching him as many times as he could then he picked up the knife to stab him in the heart.
“You caused all of this” he said raising the knife up to stab him when Lucian’s eyes changed to red filled with rage and anger.
“You killed my mate” he pushed with great force as he hit his body on a tree.
Lucian changed back to his wolf as he growled at him. Cabello got back on his feet with the aim to kill him with the knife. He ran towards him jumping in the air to stab him when Lucian dodged it and he fell to the ground. Cabello got back up again and he tried a sneak attack on him but Lucian kicked him again.
Cabello got so mad about losing that he changed into his Wolf to fight back.
Lucian rushed to him and bit his neck pinning him to the ground, Cabello pushed him off him but Lucian wouldn’t let him go as he rushed to him again.
He clawed his leg and growled at him.
Lucian went right underneath him throwing him in the air until he crashed to the ground. He had so much anger in him as he fought. He had just killed his mate and then he had the audacity to blame it on him.
Lucian was already feeling a sense of guilt for watching his mate die in front of him without being able to save her. He hated himself for that but first he had to avenge her death by killing Cabello.
He bit down on his neck and flipped him to the ground, he ran his claws into his body digging deep.
He wanted him to die for what he had done to him, he was the reason why his mate was dead and he couldn’t live with that fact.
He dragged him by the leg and smashed his body on the wall three times, Cabello was no match for his wolf as he was already weak after series of beating from him. He threw his wolf up then jumped on a tree going higher as he kicked him back down to the ground.
He then walked towards a weak Cabello full of rage, he slashed his neck as many times as he could for actually killing his mate. He gave him the same treatment slicing his neck with his claws as Cabello’s blood spilled in the ground.
He then dugged his claws into his body and brought out his heart then he stepped on it crushing it.
Cabello was now dead in front of him as he had avenged his mate for what he did to her, he looked up to the sky and let out a dark roar. He questioned the moon goddes for letting such a tragedy happen to him of all people. He wished Cabello had attacked him instead and not his mate then he wouldn’t be in so much pain as he was right now. He was broken beyond core and his heart was bleeding emotionally. He slowly changed back to his human form as he walked towards Denise holding her in his arms.
“Denise please” he pleaded for her not to leave him yet. They weren’t able to spend much time together and she was already taken from him. He felt devastated that he couldn’t breath properly. He was so broken just watching her not being able to respond to him.
He had so many dreams he wanted to achieve with his mate, he hadn’t been able to express how much he loved her yet before she was brutally taken away from him. When they first met, he felt his life was complete and he had finally found a source of living. Though she couldn’t recognize him as her mate because she was just human. He was still grateful that he was able to meet her, he promised to protect her and love her and then somehow express his love for her. As time when on he was faced with the cruel decision of changing her so that she could stay alive and be herself again. All that he had ever done was for her and he felt regretful that he was there when she took her last breath. She had gone to him to save her but he just wasn’t able to.
“I’m so sorry” he said as a drop of tear fell from his eyes in agony, he held her body so close to him praying that she would come back to him. He wished the moon goddess would give him just a chance for him to see her. Even if it was just for a little while.
“Please come back to me” he begged and closed his eyes leaning his head on hers, he wanted to scream out in agony but he could not as he held it back in.
A hand touched his cheeks and he immediately opened his eyes to meet Denise’s eyes open too, she was hardly breathing but it was enough for him.
“You are alive” he let out excited feeling like the moon goddess had answered his prayers in such a short period of time.
He looked so happy that the agony and pain he once felt immediately disappeared.
Her eyes which were once open were trying to close again,
“Please stay with me” he said taking her to the pack’s hospital to treat her.
Lucian wondered how she was alive after being slashed in the throat and he only had one explanation, the claw marks of Cabello didn’t go to deep to kill her. This was the first time he felt grateful for an accident, if Cabello had moved an inch further down then she would be dead by now and it would be a different story.
“Everything is going to me fine, just stay with Me” he pleaded with her to hold on and not passed on him. She wasn’t healing because her body was weak from being stabbed by silver, she needed a professional team to be able to make sure that she stayed alive. The pack’s hospital wasn’t far and he arrived there in no time.
