After seeing Bella naked and having a beautiful dream about her, Almano wished to have those memories refreshed again in his mind.
As usual Alpha Coast was in his office working so he snuck up to his floor while no one noticed him to check up on Bella.
When he got there the door was closed and he felt disappointed about it. He thought about opening to be able to get a glimpse of her but he didn’t know if she was awake or asleep.
If she was awake then she would catch him immediately he pulled the door knob.
Almano stood there for a while thinking about what to do but he had no idea in his head, he was lucky last time that the door was slightly open but this time he wasn’t lucky at all, he thought maybe Bella was suspicious of last time that she was being watched and found no one yet she choosed to be extremely careful.
After standing for a little while with no solution to his undying urge of see Bella, Almano returned back frustrated.
He had got gotten down the stairs and was walking towards his room when he found Alpha Coast moving towards him.
If he had stayed a minute longer then he would have definitely been caught by Alpha Coast like those previous times.
“Good morning Alpha” he greeted as he walked past him.
“Stop” Alpha Coast ordered him and he halted in his steps immediately.
Alpha Coast was just reminded of what Bella said the previous day about being watched and the first suspect he had in his mind was him.
“Have you been to my floor before?” He asked him.
Almano knew he was suspecting him but that was not enough for him to confess about it.
“No Alpha” He replied keeping his head straight so that he wouldn’t look like he was lying to Coast. Being the Alpha, He was able to study the response of his members and he could tell easily when he was being lied to. Almano had to try his possible best to not break down or blow his cover in front of him otherwise he would be doomed.
Bella may be a woman of his desires but she belonged to someone else, she belonged to the Alpha standing in front of him.
“Are you sure?” Alpha Coast asked studying him slowly, there was no reaction from him. Either he was telling the truth or he had grown to be a very good liar, even his heartbeat was very still when he asked the question.
“Yes Alpha” Almano answered again and he sighed. He couldn’t hold him as the culprit when he didn’t have any proof neither was he caught In the act, all Alpha Coast had was his suspicions.
“Okay then, you may go” He ordered him and Almano walked forward.
“Wait” Alpha Coast called again and he retracted in his steps.
“You have been doing the in-house duties right?” He asked.
“Yes Alpha” Almano answered,
The in-house duties was what Almano signed up for, there were guards that patrolled the insides of the castle making sure that they were no break ins.
Coast nodded his head and smiled, after he caught Almano spying on Bella when she was training in the sparing room and having to see his face each day because he was on in-house duties, Coast decided he had no right to step his foot in the castle until he wanted to rest in his room which was the ground floor.
“From now on you will be working as the post guard, your duties will be guarding the entrance.
Is that understood” Coast ordered him, Atleast that would keep him confined to one place rather than having his try to spy on his mate without him finding out. Coast had thought long and hard about firing him from his job but Bella claimed it meant a whole lot to him so he backed down because of Bella but that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to put a leash on him.
“But Alpha?” Almano tried to object, he knew what Alpha Coast was doing and he didn’t want that. If he guarded by the entrance then he wouldn’t get the chance to see Bella again, it wasn’t long when he had a beautiful glimpse of her and he wanted to be able to get more.
“Do you want to object my order?” Alpha Coast asked him directly to see if he wanted to go against his words.
“No Alpha” he submitted to him because he knew he had no say and if he tried to go against him then Alpha Coast would suspect him even more and he might lose his job.
“Good, I will inform the chief guard about your change of duties, I hope you take that post more seriously and not try to roam the castle. This is the least I can do otherwise you would have been gone by now because of the things you had done. Consider this as a mild punishment for yours sins but don’t test me further” Alpha Coast gave his strict warning and then walked away immediately.
Almano was now furious for the change of duties he just had, he hated the guts of Alpha Coast for ruining his chance to able to see Bella every day. Now he would only be able to see her if she stepped out of the castle which was quite rare for her because everything she needed was in the castle and also if he met her then it would be a pure coincidence.
He clenched his fist in anger furious about the turn out of events, he was already trying to establish a good friendship with Bella but all that would be ruined before it even started.
“Ah there you are?” The chief guard came to him in a haste.
“Good morning Chief” he greeted him.
“Did you already speak to the Alpha” he was asked.
The chief guard had gotten the information about Almano’s transfer through the mind link and he rushed to make sure the documentation for his transfer was ready.
“Yes Chief” he answered.
“Good, come with me so that you could give your thumbprint, the post guard duties is more dangerous than you think and I need your signature that stated you would defend the pack irrespective of any attack and not try to flee for your life” the Chief said as he directed him towards the Stationery room for the paperwork.
“Why is the post guard more dangerous” Almano asked.
“Because each pack gets attacked on a weekly or monthly basis, the only reason our pack is free of that is because Alpha Coast is feared by all and only the bravest would dare to attack this pack. Since the castle is close to the woods and borders, we always get attacked first.
When that happens the post guard are the first to defend the pack before the others are alerted” The chief explained it to him.
Almano immediately saw it as a death post, did the Alpha gave him that post so that he could die whenever there was an attack. Thinking about it he got more pissed off.
“Almano, place your thumb here and sign this papers. This is for your family incase you ever end up dead” the Chief stared.
Almano hesitated for a while before he put his thumb in the ink and stamped the papers. Alpha Coast was damn right that he was punishing him, he was using the post of a post guard to punish him.
“Good, you are relocated to the border, we already have guards by the entrance of the castle, we don’t need more” the chief unexpectedly.
“What!” Almano exclaimed in shock, he never thought he would be transfer to protect the border which was the more dangerous and furthest away place from being close to Bella.
“You can get a change in shift from time to time, don’t worry. But your morning shift is by the border then in the evening you can guard the entrance of the castle” the Chief informed him.
Almano didn’t see the need to argue, it wasn’t up to the Chief but rather it was up to Alpha Coast to decide, he had no choice but to give in afterall he was skilled enough to fight off any attack but being away from Bella was what he was displeased with.
