The next day, Bella was all healed up so she decided to make breakfast for herself and Coast.
She made waffles when the door opened and Almano walked in.
“Good morning Luna, I can see you are all healed today” he commented taking his seat.
Once Bella heard his voice and turned towards him, she was so mad that she held the pan tightly. She remembered everything Coast had told her yesterday about Almano plotting the attack she had and she was damn mad but didn’t want to show it yet until it was proven.
“Morning Almano, how are you?” She asked back with a fake smile.
Almano looked down to her legs and noticed she had no scars or injuries, she was all healed up.
“Oh, I wanted to thank you for saving my life last time. Thank you so much Almano” she stated but there was a hint of sarcasm in her tone yet he didn’t notice it because he thought she was sincerely thanking him and had no idea about how she got attacked.
“There is no problem Luna, I am just glad that I was able to save you, I wished I could have done more” he said reminding himself of how he had her in his arms and how alive he felt at that moment.
“Well you did enough and I am thankful for that” she replied hastily putting the waffles in a plate.
“Can I have some, I am literally starving” he requested holding his stomach as a sign.
“Why don’t you just go to hell with your lying ass” Bella wanted to voice out but she held it back in, it was better to catch him in the act than accuse him blindly. Almano might deny the fact that he was the one behind the attack making her look stupid.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t make enough to spare. I will ask for something to be prepared for you” Bella said with a slight frown on her face.
Almano was a bit startled by her rejection, after he had saved her last time, he already pictured then getting along better, he couldn’t help but feel that she was acting cold to him. The last time he had asked for breakfast, she willingly gave him without objection, what must have changed now?, he asked himself.
“It is almost time for my next shift, I just thought you could squeeze out a bit for me but it is okay though” he muttered trying to play the pity card on her, if she cared about him then she would be able to give him some food.
The response Bella gave him was more shocking than he expected,
“I am glad you understand, when you are done with your next shift by then the food would be ready for you” she stated.
Bella could feel that he refused eating during the time guards were eating just so that he could barge in on her and act like she owed him when she didn’t.
Almano watched her walk out the door and he became mad,
“What is wrong with her today?” He thought to himself.
‘Could she have figured out what really happened to her already?’ He thought. Maybe Bella already knew that he was behind the attack and that was why she was acting cold to him and refused to share with him.
“That’s not possible, there was no mishap with the plans” he answered himself knowing that his plan worked so perfectly well and Bella wouldn’t be able to guess such.
Almano could bet it had something to do with the Alpha, when he had Bella in his arms, he could see how jealous he was and maybe he must have warned Bella to stay away from him.
That was not how things were supposed to work for him, after he saved her life, he had expected them to grow much closer together rather than be apart. Now he was more certain that she was distancing herself from him.
He picked up a chair and smashed it to the wall, another plan of his had just been ruined by Alpha Coast, at first he stopped him from having Bella so close to him so that he could feel her warmth and now he must have warned her to stay away from him too. He had dreams last night that Bella would be quite welcoming to him when she sees him after all he was the one who saved her life when her mate Coast couldn’t. He had expected a big gesture from her but Alpha Coast had ruined all that.
“He just getting on my last nerves, how long will he be there to ruin my plan” He uttered in a dark tone frustrated about the time he had used to get everything together. It wasn’t nice for him to have to hurt Bella just so that be could play the hero but he did it anyways so that Bella could see him as someone who could do his best to protect her even if it meant laying down his life for her. He wanted to be seen as that man to Bella but Coast had ruined all that for in just a few hours after the attack.
“You will pay for this Coast” he muttered and left the kitchen to start his next shift by the border.

At another pack just by the border was Denise fully healed and had gotten her strength back.
She was sitting out in the front porch when Lucian joined her as they stared at the sun setting.
“Denise, I think it is time we returned back to the pack” he informed her. They had lived their best life there away from everyone else just them together. Lucian was glad about the times they spent together but he knew they had to return back to the pack.
“So soon, I thought we were going to stay here much longer, I don’t want to go back yet. It is so peaceful here” she complained to him. Living with Lucian helped her forget about everything that went on in her life. Being with Lucian gave her comfort and security making her forget all about her past.
“We can’t stay here much longer, you know I am the Gamma of my pack and I have responsibilities too. Alpha Coast just pardoned because I was chasing after you, my mate but now that everything is settled. I think it is time that we go back home, I have been away for three weeks now” he stated his reasons for wanting to return to the Red moon pack. His life may have been peaceful and perfect with her but he knew he had to go back, he had already overstayed and he only did that because Denise had not fully recovered from the emotional pain of being betrayed by her family. Now that she was okay, he wanted to return back with her.
“It’s not like I don’t want to go back but I just want us to stay here a little longer, maybe just add a week more” she replied with puppy eyes looking at him.
“Denise” he tried to object but she closed him up with a kiss.
“Just one more week and I promise that I would make it worth it for you” she whispered in his ears and he knew exactly what she meant.
“Okay fine, just one more week and then we will go back okay” he said and she was excited that she could get him to change his mind.
She hugged him tightly thanking him for giving her more time to be there.
“You won’t regret it” she muttered.
“I know” he answered back with a smile seeing her happy too. Her happiness was his happiness so if she wanted to stay a little while then he would grant her that wish as far as it would make her extremely happy about it.
She leaned her head on his shoulders as they stared back at the sunset quietly which was a beautiful scene to them.
