Chapter 44.Escaping the Mirror Dimension (Part One)

44.Escaping the Mirror Dimension (Part One)

"The Grand Overseer has ordered all of you to capture and restrain the recruits. Any that refuse to comply should be put down immediately." The vice overseer swung her hand. "Disciples..."

"May the ’Great One’ refine you." They all chanted, beating their hands against their chests. "May the ’Great One’ refine you all." She walked away, her hair fluttering in the wind.

Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!

The Disciples spread around the vast expanse of the mirror dimension. Marching forth like soldiers entering into a battlefield. Staffs held high, cloaks and masks intact.

"Why are they coming towards us like that?" A piece of bread fell from the hands of a shocked recruit. They watched from the window as the disciples stormed into their quarters.

"Is there a pro—"

Bam!

A fireball was shot into the wall, cutting off the male recruit mid speech. "All of you will have to come with us, now," a disciple commanded.

"Why should we follow you for no reason?" A female recruit stepped forward.

"Yh, why should we?" The other recruits nodded their heads in agreement.

Bam!

The female recruit’s head fell onto the floor. Blood splashed all over the room, painting the walls red. "Argghhhhhhhhhh!" A female recruit screamed, hands trembling with fear. Her voice carried through the mirror dimension.

"Let me correct you. We aren’t asking." The male disciple cleaned the blood off his sword. "It’s a fucking order."

"Now fall in line." Another disciple commanded.

"This is really bad." Uriel viewed through the window via her astral projection. "Guys we need to move quickly, this has become a hassle." Uriel ended her astral projection.

"Hihihihi, so what’s the plan?" Vampika frivolously bit her nails. "Ahhh I almost forgot, thanks for that earlier Vroh... You really saved me back there." It was Vroh who teleported Uriel away before Kalmar’s attack could hit, though she was more than capable of saving her own skin.

"No worries, we are all a team. And I’m pretty sure you would have handled it either way." He rubbed his temples.

"Emmm, about that plan..." Delta turned to Hina. At this point everybody was facing Hina. "Argh, why are you all looking at me like that?" She licked her tongue. "Fine..." She hissed.

"Here’s an overview of the plan. The rest I will explain along the way." Hina exhaled deeply. "Firstly we have to save as many recruits as we can. It is most likely, from what Uriel said earlier, that Berry failed and they are currently short on souls. So if we foil their backup plan, it will delay the ritual for a while." She flexed her fingers.

"Now, the final part of the plan. We need to find a way out. This part is very easy, we destroy the source of the barrier and then Vroh teleports everyone back to Arstrea." She turned towards Vroh. "I believe you can do it."

"Sure no problem!" Vroh nodded his head. "So we split into two teams. Team rescue and team portal." Hina explained meticulously.

Team escape included three members with the highest combative techniques, which were Vampika, Delta and Uriel. While Vroh and Hina made up team portal. The reason was pretty obvious: Vroh was responsible for creating the portal and with the help of Hina they would defeat any disciples stationed by the barrier erector.

"I can’t believe we trusted them." A disciple sighed. "It’s not just you, all of us here were fooled." Another disciple nodded in agreement. They were currently locked up in a cellar which was congested by their huge numbers.

Bam! Slam!

Delta knocked out the two guards stationed at the front of the cellar in one go.

Boom!

Vampika blew up the cellar door. "Hihihihi, you guys can come with us."

"Is this all of you?" Uriel asked. "No." A rude female recruit shouted. "They took some of them elsewhere." A frightened recruit answered.

"Ahhh, this is bad." Delta rubbed her temples.

"We should save who we can. We can’t afford an all-out fight, not now." Uriel frowned.

"I agree. We can’t risk our lives and the lives of the other recruits." Vampika nodded in agreement.

"Aren’t we supposed to be worried about those guys on top of the roof?" Delta flexed her claws.

Three disciples clad in red cloaks stood on top of the roof. "It seems the rats the General Overseer mentioned have finally decided to show their faces." The disciple at the front mumbled.

"Uriel." Vampika tilted her head slightly, crimson eyes burning with bloodlust.

"I’m on it." Uriel created a green smoke around the recruits. It encompassed them, the smoke returned back to a pouch by the side of her hips. All the recruits disappeared.

"It seems you have some tricks up your sleeves." The disciple on the left muttered.

They didn’t disappear; she just suspended them in a sleep-like state and put them into her stardust pouch for safekeeping so they wouldn’t be hurt during the battle.

"Guys we can go all out now." She cracked her neck.

Clash...

A disciple lunged forward at Uriel with a crimson black sword, she blocked the attack with a wall of green stardust. "I will have to take you out first." He pressed harder against the stardust wall. "Argh, men are so tasteless." The wall burst, pushing him backwards. "As usual." She flexed her wrist.

"Grahhhh, Grahhhh." Delta groaned, showcasing her wolf-like teeth. "What an unsightly animal, I am 02 and I will give you the privilege, not that you deserve it, of killing you fabulously." She brought out a dagger.

"I am 03." He adjusted his specs. "Be gra—"

Vampika gripped him from behind. She opened her mouth wide, sharp teeth extended. "Let’s see if your blood is any good." 03 flash stepped backwards, avoiding her bite.

"That was close," he thought.

"Hihihihi, this is going to be fun." She licked the blood on her fingers.

"Tch, she managed to cut me." 03 frowned.

Vroh and Hina headed towards the tower where the barrier erector was stationed. Two disciples with a distinct air around them stood in front of the tower. "You have finally arrived." The disciple on the left muttered. "Took them long enough!" The other disciple slammed their hands together, unleashing a heavy gust.

"We welcome you to your burial ground." They lowered their heads slightly.
