45.Escaping the Mirror Dimension (Part Two)
Clash....
Delta pressed her claws against the dagger of 02. "Grahh, grahhh." 02 was pushed backwards by the force of Delta’s attack. She slid backwards. "House of Tangis technique: Razor Curve." She zig-zagged to the position of Delta. She lunged her blade forward at Delta’s neck. "Hmph!" She gripped the dagger with her teeth.
"House of Tangis, you say!" Delta’s eyes widened, her spirit energy flared. "Grahhhhher!" She threw 02 into a wall. "I will never forgive you bastards for what you did to my pack." She clutched her fist, eyes filled with fury.
One hundred years ago, in the black continent of Mistrium, during the annual subjugation mission, the nobles of the House of Tangis, known for their swift assassination techniques, and the Wolven Sect, specifically the Triad pack, who were hailed for their strength and destructive techniques, were assigned by the Supreme King of Mistrium to exterminate the fiends lurking in Hougen, a dreadful forest located in the dark continent.
The mission didn’t go as planned. The fiends were stronger than usual, so the Triad pack were heavily wounded. Little did they know that it was all a setup. The House of Tangis made use of an artifact to boost the strength of the fiends. When the Triad pack were heavily weakened, they took advantage of the opportunity to brutally murder all of them.
The reason they did it was because of greed; they wanted to keep all the spoils of battle for themselves. Little did they know that some members of the Triad pack still remained. Ever since she found out, Delta has held a huge grudge against every member of the House of Tangis.
This was the perfect moment for her to take revenge for her fallen pack. And she was hell-bent on killing 02. "Triad technique—" She zipped through the air, moving so fast that only large claw marks were visible to the eyes. "Rok Rush." Heavy thrusts came at 02 from every direction—below, above, and from side to side.
02 was tossed around like a punching bag, but she wasn’t ready to give up just yet. "Hahahaha, you seek revenge for your pack." Her spirit energy erupted, unleashing a gust that pushed Delta back. Her hair rose, floating upwards. "Pathetic." The ground began to crack.
Foosh----
She appeared before Delta, placing a hand on her chest before Delta could dodge. She was stabbed through the chest with a six-inch-long, crimson-red, eerie-looking dagger. "House of Tangis technique: Damnation Thrust." Her voice carried through the air.
Delta pulled back as quickly as she could. "You fucking—" She coughed up blood. Her gaze fell onto the smirking 02. She held on to her chest, blood dripping profusely.
Badump..
A stinging pain eroded her entire being. It was as if she was being punctured by a million needles. Drops of blood started to fall from her eyes. "What is—" She fell to her knees. 02 placed a finger into her mouth, licking the blood off her fingers. "It’s poison, my feline friend." Each member of the House of Tangis was born with an ability relating to poison.
So their technique itself was centered around infusing poison into dagger-like weapons at full speed, of course. And 02’s ability allows her to inject neurotoxins into her opponents; the dosages differ depending on the opponent, the strength of the technique, and the weapon used.
The effect of the poison is pretty lethal; it damages the neurons and brain cells of her opponents, rendering them numb and unable to move a single muscle.
Though most die before the poison completely takes effect. "Still relying on cheap tricks, I see." Delta smirked. "Has the House of Tangis fallen so low that a member has joined the famed Nuxeon cult? Pathetic." She rose shakily to her feet. 02 grimaced.
"Huh?!" She took a step forward, eyes filled with anger. "What did you just say?" Her voice carried.
"You heard me right." Delta licked her lips.
Bam!
02 thrust forward at full speed, slamming directly into Delta. Delta blocked the attack with her fists. "A low-class vermin like you couldn’t possibly understand!" She pressed harder against Delta’s fist.
About twenty years ago, the members of the House of Tangis were cursed by the Witch of Harken Peak. Their techniques began to decline. Some members, like the Grand Duke, began to develop illnesses that had no cure. They were currently on the brink of extinction.
That’s when the Grand Overseer of the Nuxeon cult, Kalmar, approached them with a solution in exchange for their complete devotion and loyalty to the Nuxeon cult.
They had no other choice; they had been abandoned by everyone. This was their last thread of survival. Kalmar preyed on their desperation, and they had no choice but to give in. The law of karma had finally caught up with them for their past atrocities, but they refused to pay the price.
"Don’t give me that bullshit!" Delta pushed 02 backwards. "Whatever you got, you hundred percent deserved it." She bent her waist and drove her claws into the ground.
"This is for my pack, for my brothers and sisters that you bastards slaughtered." Her spirit energy flared, releasing a heavy gust. "Triad technique—" She vanished.
"Where did she go?" 02 turned her head around. She gripped her dagger tightly. A blow came from behind, thrusting her into a building. Before her body could hit the wall, she pivoted, lunging forward. "House of Tangis, final technique." She moved with blazing speed, cutting through the air. "Hexagon Eclipse." Multiple slashes covered the battlefield.
She attacked indiscriminately, not caring where she was hitting. "Hahahahaha." She flexed her wrists. "There’s no way she could have survived that; even if she did, the poison would kill her instantly," she thought.
The dust dispersed. "You have to be kidding me." She fell to her knees at the sight of Delta. She was unscratched. Not just that—she held a gigantic broadsword that kept on getting bigger.
THOOOM THOOOM THOOOM THOOOM
She brought down the broadsword swiftly.
Bam!
She slammed it onto 02, smashing her into unrecognizable pieces. "Heavy Slab."
"Hihihihi, Delta is super ruthless." Vampika giggled. "Shouldn’t you be more focused on the battle in front of you?" 03 lunged forward. "Forgive me, but this battle has gotten boring." She yawned.
"Then it’s your lo—" Before his sword could reach Vampika’s neck, he fell to the ground. Red, needle-like spikes covered his entire body.
