Chapter Benefit

Damon's POV.

"Where are we going, daddy?” Emma enquired as I buckled her up in the back seat.

Lucia had left to work an hour ago and warned me to take good care of the kids. She gave a set of rules I needed to keep if I were to take them out. No ice cream, no candies and no more toys. She kissed the kids and then me before leaving and I was smiling like a love sick puppy.

"I'm planning something for your mum and I need your help.” I kissed Emma's head before shutting the door. I looked at her through the window, she was smiling widely at me. I walked around the car and sat in the passenger seat as Paul ignited the engine of the car. I buckled myself and Paul started to drive. I turned to look at the kids once in a while and they both were playing something with their hands and counting numbers. I smiled and looked away from them.

"Sir?" Paul called, grabbing my attention.

"Yes?" I turned to look at him.

"If you don't mind, can I ask when we are heading back to London?” He asked.

The thought of going back to London without Lucia was heart drenching and I didn't know what to do until this morning. I wanted her back in my home with our kids. I wanted to have that happy family that I've always wanted with her.

"Let's hope it will be soon." I smiled lightly and he furrowed his brows. And if he had any more questions in mind, he didn't ask. My phone vibrated in my pocket and I shifted slightly and pulled it out. Zayn's name flashed on the screen and I answered the call.

"Zayn! How are you?" I greeted him.

"Mate. I am good. How about you?" He asked and I replied with a ‘good’. "I'm sorry to say this mate but you need to come back to London." He said and my heart sank into my stomach. "The Deal with Adams has been on hold for so long and they are saying we only have until two days' time to discuss and decide what to do." He explained.

"Damn it." I cursed in-between clenched teeth. "What are our benefits from this Deal?" I asked him.

“Well... For starters we get three million. It's beneficial for expanding your business in India and Sri lanka." He said, taking a few pauses in between. I can imagine him sitting at his desk and looking through his emails and talking to me on the phone. "And I think we should sign it." He suggested.

“Okay. Mail me the documents and I will scan them, sign and send them back to you." I said. There's no way I'm leaving here without my family. Not even for a day.

"If I could have done that, I wouldn't have called you.” He said. "We need to sign it in their presence and you have to come to London.” He stressed the word. "I know well enough that you don't want to return to London without her and the kids, but this is important, and it's just for a day. You can go back after the meeting." He cajoled.

"Fine. I'll be there by noon. I'll start in the morning." I sighed heavily. He gave me an okay and then hung up after we said goodbye to each other.

"We are going to London in the morning and coming back after the meeting is done. Inform the Pilot, and ask Gaston to be here by tonight.” I said to Paul.

"Sir." He nodded and pulled In front of the mall. I got out and so did Paul. Once the kids were unbuckled, I asked Paul to park the car and meet us at Tiffany's. I grabbed the kids' hands and walked inside with them.

"Daddy, What are we doing in the mall?" Evan groaned. "I hate 'em." He pouted and I can't help but chuckle. He's so like me. Even though I hate malls and shopping, which man doesn't? But I had to do this for Lucia.

Sighs! What love does to a man!

"Because, we are going to buy your mum some stuff. I'm going to take her out." I pulled them inside and they both giggled loudly and I smiled.

These kids!

Lucia's POV

Sitting in the driver seat, I started to drive my car home.

I unlocked the door and walked inside. Julietta and Stavros were sitting on the couch as I walked in. Julietta smiled at me.

"Hi, darling. How was work?" She asked.

"It was good, thanks." I smiled at her and she nodded.

"Lunch is ready, Damon and the kids went out.” She reported to me and I smiled at her.

“Thank you, Julietta. And yes, Damon told me about taking the kids out." I smiled at her. "I'm going to change." I informed her and she nodded at me. I turned around and walked upstairs and into my bedroom. I pulled out my phone and put a call across through Damon.

He picked up after the second ring. "Missing me already?" He teased me.

"I was missing the kids actually." I said with a smile on my face.

"Ouch! that hurt." I could imagine him pouting and I chuckled softly. "What are you doing?" He asked.

"I just came home.” I answered as I pulled my overcoat off my arms.

"Home? This early?" He asked and I nodded. I realized that he couldn't see me through the phone so I said it aloud.

"Um yes. My boss had a meeting. I had nothing to do so he asked me to take the rest of the day off." I explained. "Where are you guys? When are you coming home?" I bombarded.

"We are at the mall and they are currently having Pizza."

"No ice cream." I warned again and he chuckled.

"Yes, ma'am." He said, laughing lightly. "Okay, we'll be there in an hour. I'll see you then. Bye."

"Bye." I said and hung up. By the time I dropped the call, I had a big smile on my face thinking about my own little family. My phone rang again and it was Damon. I answered it. "Damon?"

"I'm sorry, I forgot to say something." He said. "I love you."

I couldn't help my smile when those words reached my ears. My cheeks heated up. How can someone make you blush this hard over an ordinary phone call? "I love you, too."
