Chapter 69: Witch’s Potion

Yes, it was the best thing we could do. I was glad Constantine didn’t fuss about my using him. Though considering his pride, I was confused. I wanted to ask, but the server came with wine. So, I held my question.

When the server left, Constantine asked, “What are you thinking? You wrinkle your forehead.”

“Uh, Stan, why weren’t you mad that I used you to deceive Ethan?”

“For two reasons. First, whatever can hurt Ethan, I will support it. Second, you chose me. It means something.”

“What do you mean?”

He grinned while lifting the wine glass to his lips. “Can’t you guess?”

I didn’t know what Constantine thought, so I only shook my head. “I have no idea. What?”

“Simple, my darling.” He put the glass on the table, then circled his arm on my waist. He repetitively rubbed it. “Because I want you. When you choose me as your accomplice, it could only mean one thing. You have thought or considered me as your next lover.”

I groaned in my heart. It was what I was afraid of. “I’m sorry, but it’s not in my mind yet.”

“It is alright.”

Again, I was confused about how relaxed he handled this situation. Constantine smiled. “Whatever you said, it doesn’t matter. The most important thing is that you start including me. Soon, you will start thinking of me.” He kissed my cheek and whispered, “Then you will love me.”

I gasped, but he caught my neck and kissed my lips hard. “What are you doing?” But I couldn’t protest loudly since we were in a public place.

“Treating you as my woman.”

I let out a sigh. “Do you always kiss your women in public places?”

“Only when she is an extraordinary woman.”

“You are so good with words.”

“No, but I have set my mind from the first time I saw you. I won’t fail, especially since now you want to end things with Ethan. I can’t be more pleased.”

“Stan, even after ending everything with Ethan, I don’t think we will be into a relationship.”

“Never say never, darling. You don’t know the future.”

“It’s true, but I don’t think we are compatible. I’m only an ordinary librarian while you are royalty. We don’t live in the same world.”

“The same happens between Ethan and you. He is royalty, you know. Even he came from pure royal blood.”

“But I felt it inside my heart. There was a tug in my heart. I believe Ethan is my soulmate.”

“Really?” Constantine raised his eyebrows.

“Yes.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

He smirked. “Your way of thinking is weird.”

“Why?”

“You said you were sure Ethan was your soulmate. You felt it in your heart. However, you want to let him go.” He lifted his wine glass and sipped it again. “I can never understand the woman’s mind.”

“Because I love him. I should do this so he can be happy.”

“See? Your way of thinking is bizarre. Of course, if you love him, you should stay with him and never let him go. But maybe, you don’t love him as much as you think.”

I was too tired to argue. “Whatever you say. I won’t argue.”

Then the conversation suddenly stopped. Later, the restaurant visitors started looking forward.

“What happened?”

Constantine didn’t raise his head, but he smirked. “Your man has come. Follow me. Don’t resist me.” Then he grabbed my jaw and landed a kiss on my lips.

Later, he pulled me and sat me on his lap. Since most visitors glanced at Ethan, they ignored us. Constantine pushed my body, so our body was next to each other. Only our clothes are the distance between us. He touched my thigh and rubbed it, lifting the bottom part of my dress upward.

“Your skin is so soft. I love it.” He kissed my neck.

Then a fast movement stopped Constantine as Ethan grabbed my body and freed me from Constantine’s lap. Ethan immediately tidied my dress, touching my lips and neck with his fingers as if cleaning Constantine’s traces. “Let’s go to a field since you want to challenge me. Fine! I’ll give you what you want.”

Ethan grabbed my hand, and we walked outside to the parking lot. Then without talking, he opened the door.

I shook my head. “I won’t come with you.”

“I’m sure Constantine drugged you again or bewitched you.”

I shook my head. “No, you’re wrong! I go with him because I want to be with him.”

“Yes, you are bewitched, for sure. By a powerful witch if my guess is correct.”

Then Ethan startled me as he carried me, and with force, he pulled the seatbelt for me. Then he went to the vehicle and drove fast.

“Ethan, you must listen to me.”

“No, we don’t have time for talking. But, after I finish my business with Constantine, we’ll talk.”

Since I was worried about our safety, I said nothing and prayed all would be well. Finally, after an hour, we arrived at a field, far from Moon City. Mountains surrounded it. Then Ethan parked the car.

“Since you aren’t yourself now, I must lock you here. Later, I’ll try to free you from the witch’s potion.”

“Ethan, I’m not drugged. Ethan!”

However, Ethan had locked me inside though he let the window open a little so I could breathe. I was worried now, would Ethan and Constantine fight each other? I had seen how fierce and mean Constantine was. I was afraid for Ethan’s safety but didn’t want something terrible to happen to Constantine either since he only helped me.

I knocked on the door and screamed to call Ethan, but he ignored me. Instead, he stood straight with his face staring forward, a waiting position.
