Chapter 90: The Destined Young Witch

~ Ethan ~

We walked outside the castle, then I teleported us back to my villa.

I kissed Helena’s lips and said, “I am sorry.”

“For what?”

“I should protect you, but I wasn’t there for you.”

She shook her head. “No, don’t blame yourself. I have many things I want to tell you.”

“Oh?” But then, I remembered Freya. “You need to call your mother now. She must be worried.”

“Yes, you are right.” But then, Helena glanced at me. “Oh, my phone is still at the castle.”

I nodded. “I’ll ask Red to take it. Where is it?”

“The last time the maid brought it to me.”

“Okay.” Then I opened the mind link. ‘Red, are you still in the castle?”

‘Yes, Alpha. Why?’

‘Can you bring Helena’s phone back here—the villa?’

‘Sure!’

‘Thanks, Red.’

‘Anytime, Alpha.’

Then I stroked Helena’s hair. “Red will bring your phone here. I think you should use my phone to call your mother instead of waiting for Red. He may need a while. Freya was nearly hysterical when she called me.”

“Yes, please.” She nodded.

I picked up my phone and handed it over to Helena.

“Thank you.” She immediately called Freya. “Mom, I’m with Ethan. Yes, I have been saved. No need to worry now.” Helena was quiet for a while, then she smiled.”I love you, mom!” Later, she returned the phone to me. “My mom sent you a hug and thank you.”

I nodded. “I’m also glad—” Before I could finish my words, suddenly, from my mind link, Red contacted me. ‘Yes, Red?’

‘Our elders want to meet you. However, they said it is an emergency.’

‘I’ll go right now. Let’s meet in the pack.’ Then I closed the mind link. “Helena, I need to go back to the pack. There is an emergency.’

“I’ll go with you.”

“Are you sure?”

Helena nodded. “I once told you I needed time before I could meet with your pack. Now, I am ready.”

I thought for a moment. Maybe it was the right time. I could introduce Helena to the Elders and acknowledge her as the new Luna. Yes, no other time was better than now.

“Ready?”

“Yes, Ethan.”

I hugged her and then teleported us to the pack. The Elders gasped to see us show up immediately.

“Alpha, we heard that you killed Lord Constantine and his mistress, Victoria Lewis.”

“It’s a long story. So let’s sit first.”

We all sat in a circle. I took a deep breath and looked around.

“Before I tell the details of Constantine and Victoria’s death, allow me to introduce you all to our Luna. It is Helena Starr.” I smiled at Helena. “My love, please introduce yourself to the Elders.” I whispered in her ear, “Don’t worry about anything. They will like you.”

Helena glanced at me, then stood. She looked around, smiled, then bent her head a little. “Dear Elders, I am so glad to meet you all here. I am Helena Starr and the Luna of your pack—our pack.” She corrected her word while smiling.

Then the Elders started looking at each other. They connected to each other through the mind link, so it looked like they were silent from the outside. While on the contrary, they argued with each other in their minds.

“Dear Elders, I don’t know whether or not you have heard about the young witch who can break the curse of our Alpha.”

Now Helena truly got the Elders’ attention. I wondered what she would say.

“I have found her.”

Her words were like the switch that turned on the light since many Elders talked simultaneously. “Who is she?”

“Where is she?”

“We need her!”

Until I raised my hand. “One by one, please? Helena can’t answer you all if you ask her simultaneously.”

Helena grinned at me. “It is okay, Alpha. I can handle it.” She smiled around. “Who is she? Where is she?” Helena then nodded. “I’ll answer it now. The young witch is standing in front of you all now.”

A few Elders gasped, but the rest was silent. Some frowned since they doubted Helena’s words.

“Helena …”

Helena kept smiling. ‘Don’t worry! I know what I’m doing, Alpha.’

I smiled back at her. Who would have thought that she would suddenly open the mind link in the middle of the meeting with the Elders?

“Please continue, Luna,” I said, waiting for what she would say next.

“I’m sure some of you doubt me. That’s why I will do a little demonstration.”

Then the Elders nodded, agreeing with what Helena said. “Yes, please. Since we can’t believe only words.”

“Okay.” Then Helena took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Suddenly, fog surrounded her.

It reminded me of the fog at Crescent Island and Peak Mountain. The fog was getting thicker and surrounded Helena. Later, after a while, Helena’s body was lifted from the floor. She was flying!

Then what Ruby said at that time crossed my mind, “By the true love of a young, powerful witch. If you can find her and both of you love each other, it can break the curse and end it forever.”

When I paid attention to Helena again, she smiled and said, “It’s a bit dark here. Maybe we need to light some torches here.” Then the torches started lighting until ten torches were all burning brightly.

Ruby might have known that Helena was the witch she mentioned. Was it a coincidence that my mate would be the one who broke the curse?

Then Helena stood on both of her feet again on the floor. Later, the fog disappeared, and she looked around.

“I know I’m still young, and I’m not a she-wolf. But I love Ethan, and I think he loves me too.”

Elder Gregory then stood. “Bravo! What a good show!”

The rest of the Elders stood too and clapped their hands. When they returned to their seats, Elder Gregory still stood. “I think we can agree to acknowledge you as our Luna with one more condition.”

“Yes, Elder. What is it?” Helena asked.

“Easy. Since proof is greater than words and a show, you only need to mate with our Alpha and meet with us tomorrow. If you are still alive, then it’s true that you have broken the curse, save our Alpha and all of us.” Elder Gregory grimaced. “Do you accept my challenge?”

Helena nodded. “Thank you, Elder. I believe it is not a challenge but a joy that I will gladly fulfill.” She walked in front of me. “I think it’s time for us to return to our place and break the curse. Shall we go now, Alpha?”
