“Back off,” Alex commanded me, his powerful Alpha aura suffocating me as I tried to fight his command. His aura shouldn’t have affected me, he wasn’t an Alpha yet unless…
His golden aura confirmed my doubts and I realized that Harold had fucking stepped down from his position and had made his son the Alpha King privately which should have been a public ceremony.
My head was lowering, submitting to him but I fought back his command, grabbing him by the throat which caused me severe pain in my body as he was my King now. Well, hell with that bullshit. There was no way I would accept that piece of shit as my King.
I shifted back to my human form to challenge him for the duel. “I, Klaus Nelson, Alpha of the Black Moonstone pack, challenge you-” Before I could finish, Amber came between us, freeing herself from his father’s hold.
“No, Klaus. You wouldn’t be able to win against the Alpha King. You’re not the Lycan King yet,” Amber said while raising her hands and summoning her powers before casting a spell that created a swirling aura around his wrists and feet so he couldn’t fight.
She then snapped her fingers and I was dressed in a white button-down and blue denim the next second. After I was dressed and not naked anymore, she looked at me with her red eyes.
“I don’t care about the titles and powers. I don’t even want to be the fucking Lycan King just to kill this asshole,” I growled.
“The powers don’t work that way, Klaus. Control your anger and emotions. Freya needs Todd,” Amber tilted her head toward Scarlett who seemed to be in a trance. Todd growled thunderously after hearing Freya’s name which surprised me. He never cared about any woman except our mate.
I looked around myself and watched everyone fighting. My Dad was now fighting against Amber’s Dad as well and our grandfathers and the warriors had joined the war as well. The wedding ceremony was turned into a war.
“Stay away, Amber,” I told her coldly and pounced on that bastard, taking him to the ground with me and before he could react, I ripped his throat out. I didn’t know from where I was getting this power but I could feel the strange powers surging within me which helped me to kill him though he was the King and I was the Alpha of the most low-ranked pack.
Alex’s eyes widened and his expressions made it clear that he was in so much pain before his head dropped to the ground, and his body was lying on the ground lifelessly. A painful shriek escaped through Amber but I didn’t dare to look at her. She had helped me so much but I had killed her brother, she must feel regret to heal me.
‘Alex had killed your brother in the past life and he was Samuel’s son who was in love with my Freya. He had separated me and Freya in the past life and Scarlett and you in this life so he was destined to be killed by me,’ Todd told me, explaining everything and it all started making sense why Alex hated me since the beginning even when we were kids. Todd never liked him, he hated him as well and had hit him in childhood while playing.
My wolf had been seeking revenge for so long, he was finally feeling satiated after killing that bastard.
A ferocious growl made my head turn to the north from where I saw Harold fuming in anger and leaping in the air to reach me.
Todd had an insane rage that wanted to destroy everything and kill anyone who would dare to come our way. His protectiveness for Scarlett was ten times stronger and all he wanted to do was fucking kill anyone who would come between our mate and us.
My wolf wasn’t under my control anymore and the second Harold attacked him, he grabbed his wolf’s neck and broke it before ripping his heart out with his claws. Stepping on Harold and Alex’s lifeless bodies, Todd ruthlessly trotted ahead toward Letty.
The lightning struck in the sky, making the wolves howl and stop fighting. I could see them struggling to move their body but a strange power held them in their places and they couldn’t move at all.
I looked at Amber who was holding her hands up front, pushing all her powers to probably pause them in their places. She had changed completely, I hadn’t expect to be kind to our pack or me anymore.
I wished she could be where she was loved, there was a strong belief that she was neither welcomed nor loved among the werewolves. I could sense that she was a strong witch. She will get all the love and respect in her coven. I hoped that she would get to be there and meet her mother as soon as possible.
“It’s the reincarnation of Freya. The girl who killed herself after not being able to tolerate the pain of her mate’s death,” Scarlett’s animalistic voice echoed as if answering my question and a shiver ran down my spine.
‘Freya, my love,’ Todd said via the mind-link and it reminded me of the dream I had when I shifted for the first time where a young man was being killed by someone and a woman’s sharp shriek had made me feel so uneasy.
She had taken Todd’s name so I assumed that Freya was Todd- my wolf’s mate, and as Asher had told me that we had some ties of our past birth intertwined with us, all of this started making sense.
‘Is Freya that woman from my dream?’ I asked my wolf.
‘Yes and the man who killed me was Samuel. It’s time for the paycheck.’ Todd grumbled.
“Freya,” Samuel’s whisper drew my attention. I could smell fear and terror in the air.
“I’m more powerful than you today, Samuel,” my mate’s voice was dripping power and hatred. The fucker crawled backward in fear, knowing very well that there was no one who could protect him from Letty.
“Don’t kill me. Please. I will leave this place and go to the human town to live with them. I don’t want the throne,” he begged after shifting back to his human form.
“Do you remember me begging you not to kill my mate, Samuel? The roles are reversed today and you will pay for all of your sins,” Letty’s powerful voice which could scare the shit out of anyone filled my heart with pride.
I stood beside my mate in my wolf form. Todd licked Letty’s Lycan’s face and she whimpered in joy though she was burning in the flames of anger and vengeance.
‘Todd, my love,’ her voice rang through the link.
‘You came for me, Freya,’ Todd replied before I could respond. The fucking nosy wolf.
I never knew that I could feel fucking jealous of my own fucking wolf. I didn’t feel anything for Freya but I guessed that she was Scarlett’s Lycan so I couldn’t help but feel as if I was in love with her because she was a part of my Letty and I loved every part of my mate.
‘Of course, baby. Let’s kill this fucker now,’ she spat venomously.
“No, please, no,” Samuel begged in a broken voice, raising his hands to shield his face from us.
Letty put her claw on his throat, strangling him while Todd put his claws in his chest, ripping his flesh apart. His shriek was a satisfying sound for my ears as Todd did his nasty deed. My mate put all her strength that his neck broke apart from his face and his face flew one feet away from us while Todd pulled his heart out and grabbed it in his claws before eating it.
His nastiness was freaking me out. I was feeling nauseous to my stomach though it was normal for wolves. After all, they were the animals and animals ate raw meat. Letty’s Lycan also joined the feast and they both ate his heart hungrily.
The crowd erupted in cheers and bowed to her.
"Hail to the Lycan King and Queen," the crows erupted, their voices a cacophony of respect and reverence. I looked around myself and found every wolf bowing their head with one hand on their hearts while kneeling to us respectfully.
The moon hung high in the night sky, casting a silvery glow over the forest clearing. I couldn’t wait for Letty to shift back into her human form so I could have her in my arms and kiss her till we both were panting for the air.
‘Let’s go to the pond,’ I suggest to my mate.
‘Can’t you wait till the people rise to their feet?’ She giggles, teasing me.
How could she be kind to these people who had insulted and tortured her when she was here as their trainer?
She truly deserved to become the Queen because no other she-wolf or female lycan could possibly do that. My mate was forgiving to those who had hurt her but not to those who had hurt those whom she loved.
Scarlett howled in her animal form and commanded every wolf and lycan present there to get back on their feet, she would be back soon with her mate.
We reached there but I had felt someone following us so I turned to look and found Amber following us silently.
“I will get you both dressed because we’re running short on time. I have no ill intention, Klaus,” Amber said before I could ask her anything. “Scarlett’s mother… we need to save her.”
