"What do you mean you can't find her? How can she just disappear into thin air?" I thundered, making everyone whimper. I don't care if my wolf is coming out, I need to find my mate!
"Richard, please calm down. We will get to the bottom of this. Let us go back to the pack house." Ian tried to reassure me, but I was already way past calm.
"I am not leaving here until I see my mate! So don't try to tell me to leave." Then I turned to Gamgam. "I heard someone follow her home. Who is that?"
I was aware that she was friends with one of the warriors who teaches at the pack school, and I also heard they go to work together, and leave together. I have been ignoring it since it was just a harmless friendship. I didn't want to seem overly possessive. No matter how Hermes always nags me about that. She is her own person and is free to make her own choices. But if he is the one who hurt Isabella, I shall kill him.
"He is my grandson. His name is Harry. He works at the pack school."
"Harry!" I boomed into the link. "Meet me at the hospital immediately." No one can ever just take their Luna and go Scot-free.
"Yes Alpha." He replied before the connection broke. I looked at my wristwatch; he should be here in less than two minutes.
I spotted him immediately at the door. I ran to him and jacked him up in the air. "Where the hell is my mate?"
"What? I have no idea, Alpha. She has already gone home." I threw him on the floor with force as he wasn't giving me the answers I needed. He fell with a thud, bruising his elbows.
"Where the hell is my mate, Harry? If you don't begin to talk, I will tear you limb to limb till I get my answer."
He must have seen Hermes come out, because his eyes widened and he moved back, shifting away from me. "I have no idea, Alpha. We didn't go home together."
"What do you mean you have no idea? You always go home together. Don't think I didn't notice that you had been eyeing my mate. I ignore it because I believe you will be reasonable, but I think you have forgotten who I am and what I am capable of. I think you need a reminder. I will enjoy killing you." I said menacely as I licked my lips. My canines were already out, sharp and pointy.
"I am not lying, Alpha. We didn't go home together." He put his hands in his pockets and removed his phone. He scrolled through it hurriedly, sweat pooling at his face, till he got to what he wanted, and he showed me. "Here it is."
I took the phone from him, and it was a conversation between them. He had told her they wouldn't be able to go home together today because he had extra practice with the student. She said she would go alone, and that was by 3:30 pm.
I glared at him and threw the phone at him. "No one is leaving here till I find Isabella." I turned to my Beta. "Lock all the doors and windows. Anyone who tries to escape should be killed." I growled out, as he hurried out to carry out the assignment.
Then I turned to Gamgam and said, "Bring me the records of all the workers in this hospital, from the nurses down to the cleaners."
Then I passed a message to the pack through the mind link. "Anyone that is working in the hospital should be here immediately, or else the person would be deemed a rogue and treated as one."
I waited with Ian till everyone had assembled before me. Clearing my throat, I began. "There is a serious issue going on, and I am determined to get to the bottom of this. My mate who works here has been missing. Does anyone know about her whereabout?" The place was quiet, no one wanted to talk.
I decided to leave it be. I know how to catch the culprit. I decided to start with a roll call, anyone who isn't here will be held responsible. I saw my mother from the corner of my eyes coming towards me, and she stood beside me.
I started the roll call from the omegas, they were the cleaners, and moved upward. One by one, they answered their names, and if they were clear, we stood on the other side.
"Anna Stevens?" That was my ex. I had forgotten she was working in the pack. I hope she wasn’t giving my mate trouble. She was a feisty, clingy thing. Our breakup was messy, I had to use my Alpha voice on her and command her to leave me alone.
Now that I have a mate, I keep wondering why and how I dated some of my ex-girlfriends. I should have just waited for my mate. I had thought I could overcome my dad's death by sleeping around "Anna?" I repeated it again. I looked up and scanned the faces of the crowd, looking for her but she wasn't in the crowd.
Where was she? How dare she ignore my call? Or was it because there was some history between us, because I won't tolerate that? "Where the hell is Anna?" Everyone kept looking at me. "I said, where in the hell is Anna, or are you all deaf?"
"She told me she wasn't feeling too well, so she went home on time." A shaky voice spoke out from the crowd.
"When was that?!" I bellowed at the omega, my anger already rising.
"I d-don't k-know Alpha. But it was in the afternoon."
"Anna!" I barked into the link, but it was blocked by a very strong wall. "Anna!" but still no response. That means she must be outside the range.
"Harry, gather up the best warriors and meet me at Anna’s house."
"Yes Alpha." He ran out to carry out my bidding. Anna was going to be in so much trouble. One, for disobeying my orders. And if I find out that she took my mate, she will be going to the Moon Goddess today.
"No one is permitted to leave here until I give the words. And if you all know what is good for you, you will start contacting Anna now and tell her to drag herself here no matter what condition she is in."
"Yes Alpha." I hurried out, with Ian and Ava hot on my heels, and I ran all the way to her, where Harry was already there with five warriors. Her doors were locked, but a mere door couldn’t hold me. I kicked the doors with a lot of force that it removed from its hinges.
I have never liked Anna's room. It was painted in white and all her furniture's were white. It wasn't child friendly. Her room looked untouched, as if she hadn’t slept there for a while. She was very particular about her taste. "Search everywhere. Don’t leave any stone unturned."
"Yes alpha."
They began to ransack everywhere, while I began to look for clues. I staggered as I felt a staggering pain on my sides. Bella! They are hurting her!
I began to scatter her things like a crazed man, looking for any clue I could find. She was going to be in a lot of trouble, and if she took Isabella she will die.
I went to her closet and started her throwing her clothes to the floor until my hands hit a something hard. It was a small wooden box that was locked. I crushed it with my legs, and it opened. There were papers filled with her writing and I saw some drugs. I brought the drugs close to my nose and sniffed them, but I couldn’t perceive anything.
I took out the paper and started reading. But I couldn't understand it as it was filled with a lot of medical jargons. But from what I deduce, she was working on a new drug. I confiscated the item, in hopes that I would give my mom or Gamgam to interpret.
I went to the hospital to meet them, so they could tell me what the drugs were for. While Harry and his men stayed back looking for clues.
I sat on the chair waiting for them to decipher it, apparently, she has written everything in code, so no one will know. They were in the lab now, testing the drugs while I waited.
I sent words to all the neighboring pack that my mate was missing, and gave them her description. I even added Anna's description because I felt she was somewhat related to this. And they had all promised they would help me.
I couldn't hold it any longer so I shifted and ran outside, in pursuit of my mate. Her scent ended just at the entrance of the hospital and after that it stopped. There was no way how scent would have cut like that except something happened.
I ran towards the woods, my paws flying looking the dirt soil as I pursued, even though I didn't know where to go. I ran towards all the path we had, trying to find her scent. But I couldn't find her.
I found my legs taking me to the waterfall where we had our first date and I laid down. I howled a sorrowful sound to the moon. When we had finally got closer, this happened.
I kept on howling my frustration and anger, until my body couldn't bare it again, and I fell asleep.
"Alpha!" A voice woke me out of my slumber. I stood up and shook my fur.
"What is it?"
"We have finally deciphered it. But you need to come immediately, it is bad." She didn't need to say it twice, I was already running to the hospital.
