Ebeneezer sighed but didn't take his eyes off the curtains, "William Declan was a man more capable of running the Aberus than I was," he suddenly said, switching topics. This confused Jeremy and he just stared at his father, wondering what had gotten into him.
"He was to be handed the authority then," Ebeneezer continued, "The power over the Aberus had always rested in the Xiu family but at that time, I was considered to be incompetent. You can try to imagine how disappointed my father was in me, generations of the Xiu family ruling was about to end because of me."
Jeremy took a couple of steps back to sit on the bed as it seemed this talk was going to be long, and it already pricked his interest so he sat and listened as his father went on.
"William Declan had a weakness, a devotion to his wife which I didn't have. Let's consider that my strength," he said with a chuckle and Jeremy frowned. How was that funny?
"The coronation of a sort was to be held here, in the meeting place right underneath this house. It caused my father's unbeating heart to ache and I could imagine it, seeing him hand over power to someone else instead of his own blood after ruling for decades. It hurt me too, so I had to do what needed to be done."
Jeremy watched his father and leaned in forward. He had a solemn look on his face and it was obvious that his mind was not entirely in the room, it was somewhere in the past as he recalled his memories and what had happened that day.
"My father had noticed my calm demeanor and my smirk when the uproar began, the elders felt insulted by William's choice and in their anger, they declared him unfit. Power remained in the Xiu family and my father no longer saw me as a disappointment." He ended with a smile on his face.
"What was it that needed to be done?" Jeremy asked his father, he had not said what exactly it was that he did.
"William almost lost his wife that night," he sighed, his smile fading away fast, "Almost. But he did loose the child she was carrying. He'd chosen to be with her than come for the meeting held in his name, the elders found it insulting."
Jeremy was shocked, "You had something to do with it?"
"I'm a hard man," he said, admitting to it, "If things won't go my way, I bend it into compliance, that was what my father taught me."
He stopped talking and faced Jeremy now, an easy smile coming to his face, "And I'm glad you learnt that from me."
"I would never take a life..." Jeremy was saying but his father cut him off.
"You would not, I know that. But you're like me, I can see that, and somehow I know you do to, you're trying to deny it."
Jeremy shook his head, "I'm nothing like you."
"Signing me out of my own company, that was a bold move, but how do you think I wouldn't know what you were doing?"
Jeremy frowned, "There was no way you'd know."
Ebeneezer chuckled, "The company isn't the only thing that's mine, the people in there are too, sometimes loyalty doesn't switch so fast."
Jeremy didn't believe, "If you knew I was planning on taking the company away from you, why'd you let me?"
"Because I'm an old cripple and you're my son," he smiled, "and I liked your approach, it reminded me of myself."
"So you just let me?"
"It would have been yours anyway, you just sped up the timing."
Jeremy nodded and stood up, he walked towards the door and then turned around to face his father who now had good attention back on the curtain, "I hope I don't end up like you, alone. That's what I'm fighting for."
He shut the door behind and headed for his room, all the while thinking about what his father had revealed to him.
He pushed the door to his room open and was at first angry to see Cheryl on his bed, but when he caught a glimpse of her wrist in the shackles he smirked and then stepped in.
She was asleep and had her face towards him. He walked up to the bed quietly, his eyes fixed on her face, occasionally roaming over her bare upper body.
As he stared at her, he unbuttoned his suit and shirt, and pulled it off his body before getting into bed on top of her. Cheryl stirred and her eyes fluttered open. She remained quiet as she stared at Jeremy who stared back at her with a soft gaze.
His eyes moved to her neck as his hand came to wrap behind her neck, his thumb caressed her skin where puncture marks from his fangs had formed and he smiled, leaned down and kissed it softly.
Cheryl didn't move, her eyes shut in anticipation of Jeremy biting into her, but he didn't. Instead he kissed her neck and sucked on it, she felt his kisses grow and then his other free had came to rest on her boobs and he massaged softly.
Cheryl, now wide eyed, remained unmoving. She didn't know what he was up to now and it brought fear into her. His kisses and sucking continued and he gropped her boob more ferociously now, she was trying so hard not to make a sound, afraid that it would cause him to snap out of whatever trance he was in now.
She didn't want him to snap out of it, she wanted him to go on, so she folded her lips together and shut her eyes tightly, but when his hands slid down her stomach to in-between her thighs, stroking her bud, she could not trap the moan that followed as her body jerked to his touch. He parted her legs and positioned himself in-between.
She froze instantly, but Jeremy didn't seem to notice, or was it that he didn't mind? His kisses came lower until he had a nipple in his mouth and a finger deep inside of her. Cheryl gasped and her back arched.
He touched her more hungrily now, causing her to moan and whimper in pleasure. He groaned and sucked more desperately and aggressively, Cheryl enjoyed every second of it.
He reached for his trousers without taking his mouth away from her nipple, undid the belt, button and zip, and then pulled it halfway down along with his briefs. His kisses came back to her neck and he slid into her with a groan.
Cheryl pulled against the shackles, wishing her hands were free so she could touch him, but she knew she would not be forgetting this night in a hurry.
