Keith's eyebrow rose with a smirk on his face, "Are you sure about that Laura? Think hard."
She chuckled, "That is, asides your secretary, and I know it cannot be her."
Keith's smile only widened like he was blushing and trying to hide it. Laura narrow her eyes at him and her frown deepened considerably, "It cannot be her, right Keith? She's not even a wolf!"
"Calm Laura," Keith said to her with a chuckle, "Calm."
Laura frowned and narrowed her eyes at Keith. “Is she more than just a secretary to you, Keith?”
He shrugged his shoulders at her but didn’t reply her question. He stood up from the bed and walked to a chair then sat in it with a sigh of relief. He leaned into it and tilted his head as far back as he could, interlocked his fingers and shut his eyes.
“You have an eye for her?” Laura frowned and stepped closer, then she gasped in realization, “You’re sleeping with her?!”
Keith opened his eyes, lifted his head and looked at her with a slight frown on his face, “I cannot relieve Donna of her job just because you say so, Laura. What power do you think you have over me?”
She gritted her teeth in frustration, "Fine, I may not have any power over you but I sure do have over James Donovan!"
Keith's frown deepened considerably, "And what does you having power over Donovan have to do with me Laura?"
His voice came out calm and rational, but he was anything but calm. He fixed a stern eyes on Laura who stood facing him determined.
"If Donna remains at Ortho Speare, I will make sure your business deal with James Donovan falls through!"
Keith leaned forward now and focused on Laura, he wasn't exactly angry, right now he just wanted to understand her, "What do you have against Donna?"
"She's the reason we've grown apart!" She fumed and her eyes stung with tears.
"No Laura," Keith shook his head calmly, "She's not, you're the reason we grew apart."
"You chose her side!" She yelled at him in pain, "You attacked me because of her!"
"Need I remind you that you attacked her first Laura," he frowned now, "I do not allow anyone hurt what is mine, you should know this all too well."
Laura scoffed and shrugged her shoulders, "She is yours? So what now? You love her? Is that it Keith?"
He sighed and leaned back, "Love is a really strong word, I protect what is mine."
"And am I not yours Keith?" She asked, choking back her tears.
"Don't I protect you?"
"No! You've pushed me away and denied me! And it's all because of her!"
His frown returned and he shut his eyes briefly, "You're looking to justify your actions, stop this now."
"And if I don't?! Will you throw me out?
"Yes!" He thundered, his sudden outburst caused her to shudder. He looked at her now with fiery eyes, "Yes I will throw you out, even though the windows for fuck's sake!"
"You've become someone else Keith and this started when she came," Laura said to him, still very much angry and daring, “But I tell you this Keith, if I cannot have you then I sure as hell will make sure no one else does! Most especially that man-snatching whore of a secretary you have decided to keep!”
Anger rose up in him and in a blur he was out of his chair and in front of Laura, pinning her by the neck against the wall. He growled at her, dropping his fangs as his eye changed color to a bright golden yellow.
“Keith!” Laura struggled against his grip, feeling his claws slowly piercing into her skin. “Let go, you’re hurting me!”
“If you lay a hand on Donna, let me tell you clearly right here and now, that there is not a place under the heavens and beneath the earth you can run to hide Laura. I will fish you out and tear you limb from limb, all the while keeping you alive so you will feel every atom of pain I give to you.”
"You're in love with her," she didn't ask him, didn't need to, it was a confirmation and he also didn't deny. The tears fell freely from her eyes now but the anger remained in her and she stared at him defiantly, "Then I will take the pain, as long as she seizes to be in your life!"
He snarled, "Do not test me Laura!"
She sniffed once and then remained quiet. Keith's hold on her neck was now beginning to hurt but she would not beg him. She shut her eyes.
He snapped his fangs at her one more time before shoving her away by the neck, sending her crashing to the floor, “Now leave my house and never show your dethroned face here ever again.”
Laura stayed a while on the floor, choking and trying to catch her breath. This was the second time he was hurting her because of that secretary of his. Slowly, she stood up from the floor.
"So you are choosing her over your business with Donovan?"
Keith growled and walked over to the chair, then sank into it, "My business with Donovan is fixed, and there is nothing you can do that will affect it."
"We will see about that!" Laura scoffed painfully, "I swear Keith, you will regret this decision, you will regret what you have done to me, I will make sure of that!"
Keith growled loudly at her and his eye colour changed. She could see his claws breaking out from his fingers and that sent a chill of fear down her spine. She fidgeted.
"Out of my house Laura! Before I am forced to do something nasty to you!"
Laura sniffed, stood and stomped her foot once, then she spun towards the door and walked out.
Keith remained in his chair, he could hear her stomping all the way downstairs, and then he heard the front door banged shut and hard. Keith swore that if it left a splinter, he would make her pay for the damages.
