Alix laid in the back seat of her car sleeping peacefully, she had had to use a spell to calm her down and eventually put her to sleep. Throughout the ride from the crash site towards home, she could not help but ponder on what she had seen.
Her daughter now had fangs.
Fangs?!
Being a witch, she believed in the existence of creatures other than humans, but she would not have believed Jeremy to be a vampire. Or was he a werewolf?
No. She shook her head. Werewolves don't drink blood, werewolves had razor sharp teeth and not just two fangs that dropped from the upper teeth. Jeremy must be a vampire.
She reasoned it. If he was a vampire, then that might explain his inability to marry her, vampire families she knew of were strict about maintaining bloodline. Then if that was the case, that would mean Cheryl had to be a vampire as well.
She gasped at the sudden realization, the shock caused her to loose focus for a while and the car swerved. She quickly brought the car back to its lane and looked at Alix through the rearview mirror. She stirred a little but didn't wake.
Donna returned her focus back on the road.
Her daughter was part vampire. She tried to reason the degree of this discovery, what it would mean for both herself and her daughter. She had never raised a vampire child before, she wondered what she would do if her daughter ever developed a crazy hunger for blood. Human blood.
"Oh God Jeremy," she said softly as she glanced back at her daughter, "What have you done?"
She wondered if she should let Jeremy know of her existence. He was a vampire anyway, he would know best how to raise her so she would not get discovered. But then again, she didn't want Jeremy anywhere near her daughter, just as she didn't want Cheryl.
She fumed when Cheryl came to her mind and her grip on the steering wheel tightened. She recalled what the man who had kidnapped her daughter had said over the phone, he had called "Madam Xiu"
"Cheryl," she said in rage, you have crossed all limits today."
She stepped on the gas to go faster, she needed to drop Alix safe at home before doing what she had in mind to do.
"Donna! Baby!" Hey mother rushed to her as soon as Donna walked into the house, "I saw the news, you were on it, are you both okay?"
"No mum," she replied to her mother, transferring the still sleeping Alix from her to her mother, "I am definitely not okay."
"What happened love?"
Donna paced the living room, "It's Cheryl! She's behind all of this chaos!"
"Cheryl? Are you sure about this Donna?" Her mother asked in concern, "We don't want to mess with the Xiu family now."
"Boo - hoo mother!" Donna said out loud, "She has messed with me, and I will not sit back and do nothing!"
Her mother sighed, "so you will tell Jeremy about Alix then?"
She shook her head, "No mother, there are other ways."
"What ways?"
"Like beating some fear into her," Donna said and made for the door, ignoring her mother's pleas for her to come back. She would go to the Xiu residence, a place she had avoided for the last 6 years, she would find Cheryl, drag her out and beat her mercilessly.
She jumped into her car, started the engine and sped away.
The Xiu's residence, if she could recall correctly, sat just close to the city's edge. She had only been there on three occasions and although that had been a long time ago, she was quite surprised that she still knew how to get there.
She eased her car to an easy stop a short distance away from the Xiu's residence. From here she could see the gate which didn't exactly hide what was beyond it. She noticed there were no guards at the gate and she could not see any patrolling the area. She wondered if they were on a break of some sort or maybe they didn't see the need to be stationed here.
She got out of the car and walked towards the gate quite boldly as if she lived here.
The Xiu's residence was not as heavily guarded as she had hoped it would be, maybe it was because they knew no one would or could attack them, which was true, until now.
The gate was easy to manipulate, a simple spell and it opened. She walked into the compound determined, and headed straight for the main house. It was only when she got closer to the entrance door that she noticed the guards. Four of them.
"Who are you?" One asked as he approached her. She noticed the gun on his hostler but he wasn't reaching for it. She smirked. Guess he was underestimating her.
With a quick spell, she over powered him, bringing him down to the ground in pain, in a few seconds he would be unconscious.
The others came after her now, the three of them pulled out their guns and aimed at her. They weren't going to shoot her right away, she knew that, and that gave her ample time to cast another spell, one that affected all of them at the same time.
She walked over their unconscious bodies and pushed open the door using a spell whose force could have blown the doors away. She barged into the living space, terrifying the servants and yelling out Cheryl's name.
"Cheryl!" Donna screamed out as soon as she stormed into the house. She took no heed of the servants who also didn't even make a move towards her. She walked to the middle of the living room and screamed again, "Cheryl! Get out here now!"
She paced the living space in rage, her eyes continued to glow an omnious green and she kept moving her hands as if she was practicing to throw a spell. The action caused a few of the items in the living room to move, shattering some vases and clay pots.
