Chapter Brother

Deanara Samaniego’s POV

“Gray?” I raised my brow.

I was shocked to see him. I thought he was at home or at his office. How did he even know that I was here?

“What are you doing here?” I added.

“What are you doing here?” He fired back. He was pissed and from his eyes I could sense that he was trying to calm himself.

“I thought you were at work. So, what now?” He scoffed. “Working now means sex with a guy?” He bluntly said.

“What are you - oh!” I bit my lower lip and chuckled a bit.

“No. No!” I held his hand. “It’s a misunderstanding.”

“A misunderstanding?” He rolled his eyes as he turned to my brother. “Please, tell me you’re not cheating me because I am dying to kill the man behind you.” He said through gritted teeth.

“I am not cheating.”

“So, this is Gray?” My brother said in amusement. “Oh. I didn’t know your boyfriend belongs to the lists of youngest billionaires. You can check the magazines for that.”

“Really?” I turned to my brother before turning to Gray. I liked teasing him a little bit although his veins are already popping out. “You owned an airline, right?” I asked.

“You’re mine.” He said. “We are clear with that, so I have every right to kill this ---” I kissed him.

“Shut up!” I laughed. “He’s my brother.”

“Brother?” He frowned. “You are an only child. Don’t lie. You already lied to me about going to work, and then you are--”

“I said I am an only child, but it doesn’t mean I don’t have an adopted brother.” I told him and smiled, yet he still isn’t convinced.

“He called you my love,” Gray bit his lower lip and jealousy was written all over his face. “And, can you explain this?” He pulled out his phone and showed me a picture of me kissed by Mikee.

“Where did you get that?” My jaw dropped. It was taken a while ago when I met Mikee at the lobby.

Mikee looked closely at the phone and from the angle you could see that we kissed on the lips, but we didn’t. It was just a friendly kiss, a greeting. Why is it a big deal here?

“Wait, did you hire someone to follow me?”

“Vivian sent it to me.” He replied.

“Oh!” I nodded and was a bit disappointed. “And, you believe that I am cheating on you?”

“What else when I am clearly standing in front of you and this guy…” He closed his fist as he stared at my brother.

Now, Mikee was amused and even laughing.

“What? You’re laughing because you got caught?”

“Gray…” I calmed him. “I am not cheating on you. And, I didn’t kiss him on the lips. It’s a kiss on the cheeks. A greeting. You clearly understood I came from a culture where kisses are a sign of greetings and goodbyes.” I explained.

He is still not convinced.

“You lied to me.” Gray’s voice broke. “How am I supposed to believe you now?”

“I didn’t lie.”

“You told me you are on your work, doing some work, whatever, redesigning, but come you are here in this hotel?”

“How did you even get in here?” My brother asked. “You cannot just walk on this floor without a VIP card.” He added.

“It’s Vivian.” I answered and since he didn’t say a thing, it must be true. So, Vivian is here, in our hotel, and saw us. Now, she is trying to ruin us.

Well, it’s my fault. I lied to him. I should have expected this.

“Remind me to ban Vivian from this place,” I told my brother before looking at Gray.

“I did not lie. I am working here. This is my office. We owned this hotel. I didn’t lie. He is my brother.”

My brother left us for a moment as Gray just stared blankly at me. I could see how tears were already forming in his eyes and he was trying to stop himself from getting mad at him. I appreciated how he still continued to listen to me, despite him wanting to punch my brother. And, I know, he believes in me.

“I’ll show you my passport.” My brother opened his passport and faced it in front of Gray. “See that name? Michael Samaniego. Oh. Should I sent to you the adoption papers?”

Gray’s expression slowly lightened. “You really are siblings? Well, yeah, whatever it is.”

“Yeah.” Mikee tapped Gray’s shoulder. “So, if you had punched me the moment you came in. I’ll not let you near my sister ever again. Good thing, you listened to her first before using your fist. I liked that attitude.”

I proudly smiled at my brother as I went to held Gray in his arms.

“Michael Sameniego,” I called my brother. “This is my boyfriend Isaac Gray Holster Elizalde.”

My brother held out his hand. At first, there was hesitation in Gray’s eyes that eventually faded upon realizing how dumb he is.

“Sorry. It’s just, I love your sister so much and I cannot afford to lose her.” Gray bowed a little. “Should I buy you a drink?” He offered.

My brother smiled at me and nodded.

“We can do that. There’s a bar in this hotel.”

“Now, you are close?” I crossed my arms. “And, I am just nobody?”

They both chuckled.

“Allow me to get to know your brother because it’s the least thing you could do because you lied to me.”

I raised my hands in defeat.

“Okay. Copy. What else can I do?” I pouted. “I will just have to start sketching for the plan.”

“But, wait, you owned this hotel?” He raised his brow. “I didn’t know that.”

“I didn’t even know you owned an airline.” I fired back. “But, it doesn’t matter, right?”

“Of course, I love you because you are you.”

“Ugh! This is getting cheesy!” My brother said as Gray kissed me. “Should I get out of this room?”

We both chuckled.

“What else are you not telling me?” He asked. “Please, tell me before someone else ruins us again.”

“You will be meeting my parents soon.” I told him. “You should get ready.”

“Oh…” He brushed his hair and panicked. “What should I do? How am I supposed to deal with them?”

I shrugged.

“Just be you.”

“And, be with me.” Mikee clung his arms in Gray’s shoulder like they were brothers. “Let’s see if you deserve my sister. After all, I wanted to arrange a date with you.”

“Dude! Please, tell me. Do you like me?” Gray joked.

“I think we are meant to be.” My brother replied as he laughed.

“How about you both cook me Paella?” I urged. “I am hungry.”

“Right! Let’s see who cooks the best Paella. She told me you cooked for her, so how about we bet right now?”

“Call. What’s the prize or is it a punishment?” Gray agreed.

“She told me you have a huge car collection. Give me one.”

“And, what if I win?” Gray titled his head.

“Name your prize.”

Gray stared closely at me with a smile on his face.

I raised my brow, waiting for his words, until he looked at my brother again.

“Allow me to marry your sister.”
