Rupert's POV.
I was at the rooftop with beta Mason when I saw Gamma Lauren driving in with my mate, my eyes fixed on the figure that is dressed like the goddess, People say the goddess comes in wolf form but I never did agree with each day watching Iris, I might be shifting ground and eating my words, Iris is really a goddess.
"Stop blushing, Soon she will be all yours and I know the claiming ball will not end before you lock her in your room?"
"Mason, I am not going to do that, and why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be with your pregnant mate?"
"She knows that I am your beta, and today is the day, you are supposed to claim your mate, I should be by your side."
"Oh now, as the alpha of this pack, I am letting you off the hook. You should go to Ariana, I don't want my cousin to feel her mate doesn't care about her and if I need anything, I have beta Drake and Campbell." He tittered as I mentioned Campbell. "What is funny?"
"Campbell who is busy with Cathy, the fact that you send her to Alpha Iris pack, doesn't mean that they will always be available. The young man and woman are way too busy to have time for you."
"Still you have no use, my mate is here, I just want to go to her. So shoo." Beta Mason smiled at my reaction.
"Aren't you going to tell Iris that Celina is pregnant for you?" I look at him. "You two aren't supposed to be hiding stuff from each other."
"I am not hiding stuff for her, no one is pregnant for me, Celina's baby is not mine." He stared at me. "Yes, what Celina didn't know is that she might have drugged me and had her way with me that doesn't mean if my pup is growing in someone I couldn't feel it, I could smell her but I didn't smell my blood in her, all my wolf could smell was Russell, which means if she is pregnant the pup in her tummy is for Russell or someone else"
"Then why didn't you spill already? Instead of asking me to conduct a paternity test on her?" I tap Beta Mason's shoulder.
"Sometimes, you let some stupid fellow enjoy their stupidity." My face was plastered with a smile.
"I bet, I should let you go, I could see that you can't wait to be with the woman after your heart."
"Why wouldn't I? Let me enjoy what you have been enjoying all this time, a faithful mate." Mason smiled at my words. "I will go on now, I am sure, Iris is on her way to the fifth floor, and I don't want to keep her waiting."
Beta Mason smiled at my words, as we both walked down the rooftop, with each step I took, I felt I was coming closer to her, and very soon, I would claim the female after my heart, when I got to the fifth floor, my heart throbbed.
"Go easy on yourself, your heart might fall off before you meet her." Beta Mason teased me, I don't think so, I don't think it's anxiety that is killing me, something is off, My hands shaking, I couldn't even pull the door, and my gaze I couldn't move it to beta Mason.
"Alpha Rupert, what is going on with you, is everything alright?" Beta Mason asked.
"What is this pain in my heart?" Vernon growled in my head, his movement was violent and I couldn't bear the pain, the pain hit me more. I hope this is not about Iris, if this pain is from Iris, I will rip anyone that is causing her pain.
"Alpha Rupert..." I paid no attention to beta Mason, I turned, racing through the stairs, leaving the door ajar, my Iris wasn't there, she was far from here, I run down her scent hit me on the fourth floor, my wolf whimpered and eyes glued to a door by my left, I rush to that angle, pulling the door, the room was dark, my hand went to the switch, the first stuff that met my eyes were blood, I squat touching the blood moving it to my nose. It's Iris's blood.
"Iris..." I called rushing into the bathroom, no one was there, and my Iris was nowhere to be found. "Iris!!!" I screamed but my voice echoed back to me.
"Alpha Rupert, what is it, you run off?" He was panting.
"Iris, she is kidnapped." I growled.
"What?" Beta Mason question, I mindlink gamma Lauren.
"Alpha..."
"Gamma Lauren, you should tell every wolf on guard to secure every exit of the pack, make sure no one leaves not even Prince Russell."
"Is there a problem?" Gamma Lauren asked.
"Yes, Iris is missing and I think that Russell is the one behind it, I want her to be found and if you found Russell with her, you shouldn't kill him, bring him to me, I want to punish him for ever thinking of setting his eyes on my mate."
He didn't say anything, his coldness showed that he was feeling guilty that he didn't protect my mate effectively, and now I could feel that her wolf was trying to mindlink my wolf but my excitement had made me not notice. I don't know if I could survive it, if anything happens to her, especially with the fact that I saw her blood on the floor and the room is filled with the scent of Russell, Iris and also my scent, I didn't enter this room while then is my scent lingering here, did Russell did a foreplay on Iris, that made her ended up in this room.
"Alpha Rupert come on, let's go to the North, Campbell is taking the South and Lauren is going to the East while other guards are on their way to the East." Beta Mason said, I nodded as we hurried out. We have been searching for Iris for hours now, I couldn't even find her.
"Vernon, pleased can you smell our mate?" He shook his tail, which means, he didn't smell her. Delta Campbell and his group run to me. "Did you see her?" I ask.
"No, we found no damn fur of her."
"Did you see Russell, anywhere around the ball?" I turned my gaze to the guard, I asked to check for Russell for me.
"No alpha Rupert, and your father, old alpha Oscar, he is asking after you and alpha Iris, the claiming had started already and he is..."
"Let me be, just tell father to..." Beta Drake rushes to me.
"Alpha Rupert, where is Alpha Iris? I have..." I pinned my lips together, and that minute Gamma Lauren ran to us.
"Alpha Rupert, someone said they saw Prince Russell leave the pack a few minutes before you asked that all exits should be blocked and he was with a woman..."
"A woman did they see her face, tell me, is Iris right?" My wolf whines and growls at the same time. My little mate, my sweet girl nothing should happen to her. When Lauren didn't say anything, I grabbed him. "Tell me now, is the lady Iris?"
