Iris's POV.
Although Rupert had told me, he wanted to bite me, I didn't object to it this time, although I heard that hybrid wolf bite is different from normal werewolf, I still wanted it, and when his fangs sank into my skin after he had flicked his tongue over my neck.
The pain came as sudden as the pressure that followed it but something was different, Rupert's expression was unreadable and it was alarmed, so I decided to ask.
"What is it?"
"You taste different"
"Don't you like it, is it awful." Rupert had tasted my blood before, although that wasn't claiming but his urge for blood, and then he didn't say that I was different, he only said tasted nice and my blood was great.
I watched him flick his tongue across his lips, that was stained with blood, and just once everything disappeared his lips were clean but his eyes were still dark. I moved my hand to touch my neck but Rupert held it midway, using his tongue to lick the blood off my neck and when he pulled away, his gaze held mine.
I was feeling so uncomfortable with his stare that I subconsciously moved my hand to my neck, running it on my neck. But I felt relief that the injury was healing and my former cut, was also healing, and that burning had died out. But Rupert's gaze is still on me.
"What is wrong? Don't you want me..."
"Sh!" He placed his hand on my lips.
"Your pulse... I don't know if I am wrong but you taste strange like someone is growing in you"
"Growing in me? I don't understand." Confusion was written on my face and he took my hand.
"Have you had your monthly flow?" He took my hand and that was when it hit me that he might be talking about a pup growing in me.
"I don't think..."
"Relax, go to bed, you have a long day and we still have to go back to the pack." He pulled my hand leading me back to the bed, it seemed this was what I needed for the longest time, I didn't think long before I fell asleep even with the piercing morning sun.
Rupert was standing at the window when I opened my eyes, it was late in the afternoon and the sun was fading away
"Rupert," I called, and he turned to me, stretching a kit to me. "What is this?"
"It's a pregnancy test, go urinate on it, and let's see if my hunch was correct." His voice was still without emotions, Slowly I stood from the bed, making my way to the restroom, I was almost nude, with Just a little stuff covering my body.
I can't tell if Rupert will be happy if the test turns out positive, I am getting scared that he might not want a pup, he just became the alpha, and adding more baggage to his responsibility might be one thing he doesn't want yet.
After urinating on the kit, I waited for the results and they came out positive, tears drop my eyes, I couldn't tell if it's tears of joy or sorrow, I didn't even know Rupert's reaction, slowly I pushed the door of the restroom and my eyes met Rupert whose eyes were focused on the restroom door.
"What is the result?" He asked before I could speak.
"The thing is... about the..." I don't know how to go about it, I just stretched out the kit to him, his eyes fell on the red lines and he moved to me.
I could hear my heartbeat when Rupert didn't say a word to me, his eyes were just on the kit. His silence is taking forever. "If you don't want the pup, I could..."
"You could what?"
"I am sorry if you do not want a pup for now, I could keep the pup and I promise not to tell anyone that..." I try to look for the right words to use, but still, Rupert's expression is unfathomable.
He takes a few steps from me.
He doesn't want our pup. I said mentally, talking to Sally.
"He is not happy about our pup." Sally said. This time he moved closer to me.
"Happy, I am excited." he grabbed my hand. "Happy is an understatement, I am excited and feel like I don't deserve to be called a father but the goddess was fate to me again."
His words and eyes were mixed reactions, I couldn't say he was happy, sad, or worried. Everything was crowded in his eyes, he was scared as well.
"Are you scared?" This time, I found my voice as I asked.
"I killed Russell." He voice out, my eyes diluted with shock. "I didn't mean to kill him but my eyes were crowded with the pain that he had made you go through and those pain he had subjected you to made me unable to hold my anger back I don't know if the goddess will curse me again, what if I kill him unjustly, what if I get cures." This time is tears drop. "I want to be a good father to my pup, will the goddess give me a second chance to meet my pup and be a good father to him, when I have deprived another pup of his father."
I move closer to him, I cupped his face causing him to stare at me. "You will be an amazing father and the goddess will not judge you for giving me justice, for hurting the one that hurt the mate your goddess gave you."
"Iris, did I ever tell you that you are the silver line in my dark world."
I stared at him, should I be happy or sad about what he said, I don't know but I am happy that he too was my silver line in my dark world. This time, he pulled me into his hand gently, and he hugged me, burying his face in my neck, and inhaling me.
"Did I tell you that..."
"You turned Mason into a vampire?" He moves from my arms and looks at me.
"Can you read my thoughts as well?" I shake my head.
"I didn't, the goddess still favors you with that, maybe, she trusts you not to lie to me."
"Then how did you find out?" He asked taking my hand.
"Ariana told me, she was trying to mindlink me all this time when I was asleep but it turns out that my mindlink is not working and she had to drop the message, she said Campbell brought Mason home.
"What?" Rupert screamed. "Did he get bitten as well?"
"Relax, Ariana didn't tell me details, she only wanted to find out if we were safe. And she also said that she is pregnant." Rupert inhale.
"Come on, we need to go home, my beta is worried too, and you have to bring your brother's corpse back home."
I know that Is the biggest obstacle he had, he was feeling bad about how he was going to face everyone and tell them his brother died by his hand.
Rupert got me something decent to wear after I had a quick shower, the alpha of Dark Wood Pack, provided a car to take us back to the Pack, and as soon as we got to the Pack, they were waiting for us at the entrance, Celina rush to us.
"Where is Russell?" She hit Rupert. "You monster, you killed the father of my Pup."
