Iris's POV.
"Go on and tell me what you did to Russell?" Celina growled at him, he was calm, I watched Rupert waiting for him to say something but he stared blankly at Celina that is wailing uncontrollably.
When the corpse of Russell arrives, Celina runs to those carrying the corpse.
"Russell, why did you die, you shouldn't have died, why didn't you wait for your pup?" She cried, but no one was consoling her, I took a step, and Rupert held my hand.
"Don't" that was all he said, I looked at him. "Come on." It didn't take long before a wake was held for Russell and was laid to rest later in the evening, I was supposed to return to my pack but beta Drake mindlink me and told me that the pack members weren't aware that I was kidnapped by Russell all they know that I was claimed by my mate and that I will be spending few days with him before addressing then.
I spent the day in Rupert's room, I knew he was going to be busy, explaining himself to the council and also the elders, so I decided to take a nap when he was gone. I had slept for hours when I heard the door crack open.
"Who is there?"
"Who will dare get into my room with my mate in here?" I smiled hearing his voice.
"You are back, what did the..."
"Shh, problem will always be there, come on let me introduce you to someone." He pulled my hand and I got out of bed, I was taken by surprise when I saw an elderly woman. "She is a midwife, she will be in charge of all your needs, all you need to do is tell her how you are feeling..." I wanted to laugh at His actions, he is all lovey-dovey, I wouldn't blame him, we are having our first pup. His face was all I could look at when he kept rambling on how the midwife would care for me, giving her specific information on what type of meal to prepare for me, I didn't realize that he had planned out my diet roaster.
He told the midwife to educate other omega that he assigned to assist the midwife while caring for me, he didn't want any stone unturned.
"Alpha Rupert, I could take..."
"Sh! You shouldn't stress and for now, you should rest, I also have other stuff to attend to." He presses a soft kiss on my forehead while pulling me into a hug. I have lost the number of times that Rupert has hugged me, kissed me, and pecked me since he found out that we are having our pup.
Rupert left after the midwife tested that the pup was fine, she gave me some medication, and then left, After resting for a while, I decided to take a walk through the corridor, I hadn't seen Rupert all afternoon but then I heard the voices of some Omega.
"Who would have thought alpha Rupert would be so kindhearted?" One of the omega said.
"Yes, he even assigns servant and midwife to his late brother's pregnant mistress."
"He did that?" The other asked.
"Yes, even when the former alpha wanted her banished for misleading his son, he felt that Russell became a monster since he started associating with Celina and that Celina is a despicable fellow who doesn't deserve to bear an heir for his late son."
"So former alpha Oscar was going to banish her with his first son heir?"
"Yes, but the former Luna and alpha Rupert didn't want that, Alpha Rupert said he promised his brother to care for his pup and that is what he is going to do."
"But do you think is a good idea, to let the son or the daughter of a traitor live in the same Pack with your heir?" Another omega Said, There were four standing there, hearing that, I felt awkward.
"Is it a bad idea?"
"What if he grows up to become like his father?"
"Come on, the alpha is nothing like Prince Russell, if he is the one going to take care of the pup, and act like a father figure to the pup as he said then we are sure that we could be having a caring and gentle pup."
"The alpha is not just gentle he is handsome." The fourth Omega said while the others looked at her. "Stop staring, he is handsome and he has that sweet scent. Don't alpha have two mates?"
"Are you crazy, do you want to be his chosen mate?"
"If I could seduce him, and make him all mine, I will gladly do that."
I just stood there listening to them when I heard footsteps, I turned to the direction the sound was coming from, it was from Ariana.
"Should we tell the alpha so she could be punished or do you want to punish her yourself?" Ariana's voice came up.
" Beta Ariana." She smiled as I added her mate's title to her.
"What should I call you now?" I smiled.
"I am still Iris, nothing changes about me."
"I will call you alpha Luna Rupert." I look at her, it sounds funny. "Now tell me, what should we do with that seducer of an omega?"
"I will think of her punishment, for now, let's go and talk about something very important." I pulled her hand into the room.
"I heard that you are expecting a pup." I speak as soon as we get into the room.
"Yes," she frowns.
"Is it because of Mason's condition?" She nodded.
"He didn't want to talk to me since he found out that he is now a vampire and he had been distancing himself from me, probably thinking that he was going to hurt me and the baby." She sighed, and I placed my hand on her.
"Campbell told me that you are pregnant as well and Rupert already claimed you, how does it feel to be pregnant?" I know her question, is not about the pregnancy, she already found out that she was pregnant before I, which means she already knows what it means, she fears that Mason is not just a wolf but a vampire now and she is scared for her pup.
"Are you getting scared that the pup in your tummy will turn out a vampire or a wolf?" She paused but her silence was enough realization for me to know that was her concern.
"Aren't you scared that your pup might turn out to be a vampire or a wolf and suffer the same fate as my cousin the Alpha?"
"To be secure, I was scared and confused back then when I found out that Rupert was a wolf and a vampire, I didn't know how our pup would turn out what my future would be, and how it would affect my life."
"It's normal to feel that way but you have nothing to worry about just assumed that Mason is still just a wolf and now he possesses stronger power which makes him more outstanding and strong enough to protect you and your pup."
"That is what I want to believe but Mason, I don't know how to make him believe as well that he is never going to hurt me, all he kept saying was that he saw how Rupert got possessed when his vampire surfaced and one time he almost killed you."
"You don't have to worry, Rupert will help him, I know Rupert is feeling bad as well for killing his brother and for turning Mason into a vampire but he doesn't want to say."
The doorbell rings.
"I think I will leave now, I bet my cousin is back." She stands, Rupert pulls the door, and she stands to leave without a word to Rupert. Taking a few steps, Rupert grabbed her hand.
"Are you mad at your cousin for making Mason a vampire?"
