Rupert's POV.
"Yes me, so do you have a problem with it?"
"Did you kidnap me?" I smiled as I move from the door to the available couch in the room. "Let me go, I need to be with my pack members, I don't want them to get scared."
"They will not, they wouldn't even remember what happened there last night and as for your beta, he knows you are with me, just that asshole of a brother that will remember what happened here, and by now, he should be ranting like an idiot"
"What did you do?" Iris growled at me.
"Stop growling at your Alpha." I tease her.
"You are not my Alpha, I am not a member of your pack."
"Oh, so you prefer Russell?" She shrug while she curved her lips into a sweet smile. "What are you smiling about?"
"It's not a bad idea if I accepted his proposal after all, he is my dad's choice for me." I grabbed her hand roughly, I didn't know when I get off the couch and was in close contact with her. "hey, let go of me, you shouldn't be touching the mate of another like that." I smash my lips on her lips, her words are annoying she is mine and no one else, she struggles with me when I didn't let her go, and she bites my lips.
"Ouch." I screamed as I let go of her lips. "What was that for?" She slapped her hand across my face. "Why did you hit me?"
"You should stop being annoying and stay away from me, let me go, I don't want to be here, I don't want your mate to come after me."
"Iris stop, Celina is not my mate." She looks at me all shocked. "Yes, she is not my mate, our mate bond is broken and I have also rejected her."
"You did what?" I couldn't tell if she is mad or happy with what she just heard, her voice and facial expressions is not something I could explain.
"Yes, we are no longer compatible, there is no need to keep her or claim her as my mate when I don't love her, and the goddess has set me free from her."
"I don't get what you mean?"
"I am no one mate."
"Was it because of me?" Iris asked I move closer to her.
"It wasn't because of you, so don't think that I stop loving Celina because of you, even if you didn't show up, I will still not want her, I can't take a female that is only here when the going is sweet and the very moment, the going goes rough then she used the door, haven't you hear the human's marriage vows, you should love a person in sickness and in health." I paused and look at Iris. "But Celina never did love me in sickness and in health, she doesn't care about anyone else but herself. She shows me the door the very second the goddess curse me, even when I was cursed because of her." Iris heaved a sigh as she sat on the bed. "Iris, did you realize I got my face back when you kiss me when you start loving me, even when I pushed you away you kept coming back, you are the female that gave me back my heart."
"I didn't do anything to you." I smiled, as I pulled her face up with my index finger. "Iris, let's start all over, let me..."
"We can't, your brother, he is going to come after my pack, he will not take..."
"Shh! Russell is nothing but some idiot desperate for power, he only wants you because he is desperate to be an alpha, you don't have anything to worry about, just let me have you beside me, I am not going to force you to merge the two pack, I am not going to hurt you, I promise to love you unconditionally and worship you because you are the only woman that I will ever love."
"Even if you meet your mate?" Asking that makes me want to laugh, it only means that she still doesn't know that I am her mate, her second chance mate, let me use it to my advantage.
"Of cause, I will pick you, so what about you? will you choose me instead of your mate?" She frown the very minute that I asked that, I wondered what made her frown, Mason didn't tell me how he find out that I am Iris's mate, he only said that Iris might be my mate, and the very minutes that I stand at the entrance seeing my worthless brother trying to take what rightfully belongs to me, I thought of just giving up on us and forget all about my love for Iris instead of getting into another fight with my brother but then my wolf didn't let me make that decision, my eyes amplify with excitement, suddenly I run my tongue between my lips, my head snapped back to the direction of Iris. I sniffed hard, it wasn’t difficult to pick out that scent that peppermint smell that drive me nuts that smell that I only want to inhale all my life, and come to think of it, that smell belongs to that she-wolf that could calm my troubled heart that brings light to my dark world that brings a sweet smile to my lips and makes we want to keep breathing.
"Mate!" Vernon said now I got it, Iris is all mine, finally, she is the one that the goddess had made for me, now it's clear after rain comes the sun, there goes my sun, my morning star, and that stupid Russell was to force her into becoming his mate, I saw she was going to accept, I didn't want that to happen, I will not let my brother take what is mine, I growl and the next thing darkness clouded the hall, darkness that even wolves couldn’t see through, thanks to my vampire self, I didn't just make the place dark, I erase the memory of it, this morning when they wake they will feel that the ceremony ended well and that I am the one that my father made a claiming proposal between me and her.
"I wouldn't think twice before picking you a thousand times because you are not like him, you will never hurt me like that worthless mate of mine that left me hurting because he is an unfaithful mate." My eyes dilated with guilt, did I hurt Iris when I was mating with Celina? Was it my actions that made Mason know that Iris is my mate?"
"Did you say your mate is unfaithful?" I asked, Iris nodded and move closer to me. "I..." I wanted to say something but Iris attacked my lips.
