A tightening has come to my throat.
— I trust you— whispered, sure of my words.
From the look he gave me, the feeling was mutual.
Jack got up from the armchair and pulled me towards the bed, he
seemed exhausted by the disturbing day we had, I could see their
shoulders stiff by the tension. And to relax it, I lay on the bed and brought
his head up to my chest, he leaned his face over my heart, his
arm wrapped around my waist.
— Do you want to talk about today? — I asked quietly.
He took a deep breath.
— Killing Gregory didn’t lessen the pain of Lydia’s death, but
quenched the thirst for revenge that I nurtured all these years.
I can move on now, even though the guilt hasn’t diminished.
I caressed her dark hair affectionately.
Air of the
— I’m learning that we can’t save everybody, though
desire to succeed. You fought until the last second to save her and
I’m sure she’ll always be grateful for that. Lydia now runs
through the green valleys in the moonlight, in the immortal lands beside its
pup. One day, we will find the people we love and
we lost.
Jack squeezed me tighter, laid a kiss in her hair.
He tilted his head to face me, his eyes bright.
— What would I do without you?
I held his chin and kissed him calmly, enjoying the taste of
your lips.
— There’s another thing I think you forgot— he muttered against
my mouth.
— What is it?— I asked with my eyelids weighing.
I saw a feline gleam in her intense green eyes.
— The Blood Moon is a few days away.
By the Moon! Because of recent events, I did not realize that the Moon
of Blood was approaching, the night that would change everything between Jack and me. And
It was now less than two weeks away.
— You know what that means, right? — I risked asking. — We
we’ll be bound together for eternity if the loop fits.
And Jack’s wild smile made my face warm. He stretched the
neck to reach my ear and whispered:
— The loop will be embedded and I could finally claim it as
my partner, make her my equal in power and dominion.
Jack held my face, his fingers brushed my lips
his timbre became hoarse when he said:
— And when the night of the Blood Moon comes, I will kiss and caress
every piece of your hot body, I will explore this dangerous territory
with tongue and teeth, slowly, taking advantage of the warmth of your skin. I will
Make you scream my name until you lose your voice of pleasure.
A powerful heat wave enveloped me, I opened my mouth in search of air.
My womb tightened, feeling the weight of the promise in those words.
Jack sunk his head into my neck and nibbled my skin,
arched my back, it was hard to remember how to breathe when feeling your canines
sliding around the sensitive area of my neck.
Jack was the one who had my full confidence, I would never allow
that someone else would touch me like that, wouldn’t allow me to be
vulnerable before anyone else to the point of displaying my neck so
openly. I grabbed her hair when her tongue ran through mine
throat.
— So it’s hard to keep control, Supreme— whispered out of breath,
Digging my nails into his back.
Jack let out a low noise, similar to a groan or growl, or
maybe the two together, I could not define. But that sound made a throb
rise up deep in my being, seething. Jack stared at me, hungry,
primitive, the nostrils dilated because of its heavy breathing.

The smell that came from him, from his desire for me, hit me strongly,
I probably emanated the same odor on every piece of mine — You’ll still drive me crazy, Hayley— confessed, joining our
forehead, breath gasping. — I lose control when I’m with you.
She smiles shyly, running her shoulders with her fingertips.
If it was different, it wouldn’t be funny, right?
Jack laughed softly, his chest trembling for the laugh.
You will be my undoing, you wild wolf.
HAYLEY BLAKE
The return to New York went faster than I imagined, the hours
in the car next to Jack were quiet, despite the discomfort in the
vehicle seat, almost jumped of relief when we finally arrived
at home and I could get out of the car, stretching my legs on the ground.
Pulled a long breath, bringing the smell of the city inside
of my lungs. I pretended not to notice the prying eyes of the people fixed
in me, I admired the facade of my house for a few moments,
while Jack’s men fetched our bags. The Supreme
stopped next to me after talking something to a wolf and me
hugged her shoulders.
— we are Finally home.
"It’s good to be back."
It was reassuring to hear my wolf’s voice again, she
was regaining his strength since the abduction. Hearing her was a sign that
she was getting better.
I nodded, turning my head and watching Clary get out of the car
with the backpack on his back, his face was not yet one of the best and
I didn’t have time to talk to her. I wrote it down mentally not to
forget I needed to talk to Clary and apologize for our last
discussion, I really had been an asshole with Kitsune.
— I’m exhausted— commented Becca emerging beside me, tiredness in
his face was clear. — I want to sleep for the next few hours without any
pause.
Aiden, always at the companion’s disposal, muttered a farewell
and immediately entered the house. Smiles sideways with the care that my brother had
with Becca, there was no doubt that he would be a great father to his
cub.
— Come with me, I need to show you something— Jack asked, holding
my hand and pulling me in the opposite direction of the house.
We walk for a few minutes, being the target of looks and whispers that
ignored most of the time, enjoying the calm of the moment. Jack
took us to a house five minutes from yours, a building of
median structure of two floors. He stared at me, waiting.
— What do you think?
I observed the house in the modern Victorian style of neutral colors.
— It’s a beautiful home— admit. — But are you planning to move?
Jack gave a weak laugh, denying with his head.
— It’s one of the properties I inherited from my father. I was thinking about
Gift Aiden and Rebecca with her, I believe they must want
privacy to enjoy the female’s pregnancy.
I widened my eyes, surprised. An incredulous laughter left my lips.
— Are you serious? That’s amazing of you. Aiden will love the
present.
Something like pride took the face of the Supreme, he gave me one of his
Arrogant smiles and hugged me from behind, whispering in my ear:
— Despite having your brother as a great friend, I don’t want anyone
in our house on Blood Moon week. I want you all to myself.
I bit the inside of her cheek to hide a funny smile.
— This is selfishness, Supreme, not wanting to divide me.
Jack squeezed me more in his arms, his warm breath brushing
my neck.
— You are mine, wild wolf.
Smiles discreetly, turning her face enough to see her eyes
gray, showing its more primitive, animalistic side. I do not
could deny it. I was his and he was mine.
"No one will ever separate us again."
I snuggled up to her chest, looking back at Aiden’s new home.
He was going to freak.
— you know— started. — I don’t mind having our family living
with us, I love every one of them, but having all those males
strangers sleeping on the same ceiling I ain’t much
comfortable.
Jack was silent for a moment.
— Unless you don’t mind if I parade around naked
of the house with all those men watching.
The Supreme growled in my ear and I held a funny smile.
— That won’t happen. I’ll send them to find a place to stay. I
kept my men in the house in recent years as a way to
disguise my loneliness, but only our family should stay.
— And Dianna? Will you get her out of the house too?
"I’m not staying in the same house as that no— race bitch."
Jack sighed, his breath caressing the side of my neck.
I promised to protect you, Hayley, to keep you with me.
I tried to get out of Jack’s arms, but the wolf wouldn’t let me
kept holding me. I snorted loudly, crossing my arms.
— Do you plan to keep both, Supreme? — I asked without disguising the
irritation in my voice.
Jack laughed, amused by my jealousy, nothing discreet.
— I want you, werewolf, no one else. However, Dianna was placed under
my protection. You know how our world is not kind to the
females.
I rolled my eyes, biting my lower lip.
It pissed me off the way Jack thought he was responsible for the wolf, I
I knew it was noble of him to protect the wolf, but that’s not
meant he needed to do it by keeping her under the same roof
that me.
— You know I can’t stand her, or the fact that you guys had a type
of relationship...
That was in the past, Hayley.
— It doesn’t matter— I scolded. I don’t want her to be among us again,
Jack. Dianna has feelings for you, everyone can realize it,
I can’t believe she’s going to settle for our relationship.
— She won’t be a hindrance between us, I promise you that.
— And who said that we females need the protection of a male?
We can defend ourselves.
Jack pushed my hair to the side and deposited a kiss in
my neck, about my birthmark.
I’ll talk to her and arrange a new home for the female.
I turned and wrapped my arms around your neck, smiling
openly. Jack’s smile was restrained by the fact that we were in
public, but the gleam in his eyes sparkled brightly when the
kissed quickly. He held my neck, wanting to deepen the
kiss but walked away before, making him grumble like an old man
grouchy.
