The walks begins quite peacefully as the girls chatter amongst themselves, making me realize how big this group has gotten.
Morrigan will be a great addition to the group but I’m definitely going to have to find a place for us to call home. Traveling with a bigger group is going to have complications at some point.
For now it won’t be a big deal, but eventually it will. I’ll make a plan with all of them once we find our way out of the cave.
"I’ll lead the way since I’ve been here a long time," Morrigan says while walking past me.
"Fine by me," I reply while putting my hands in my pockets.
We all follow behind Morrigan as she leads us back to the paths from before. She definitely is still stuck on the last thing I told her from Aziel.
Aziel is a good person so I hope that he’ll find peace wherever he ends up now as well. I think his death wasn’t something he deserves in the slightest.
Then again, his death gave me the opportunity to get stronger. I’ll make use of this power as much as I physically can.
I also got rid of the voices that kept haunting me in that damn void... Something that I never once imagined would disappear. They haunted me since I left the manor...
It is quite freeing to have the silence back within my head after so long.
Step. Step. Step.
I loose my train of thought as I hear footsteps approaching us from up ahead. Someone else is entering this damn cave after seeing all the dead bodies out front?
Just barely light from the entrance is enough to show who is coming. The person becomes completely clear to me, I never expected to see him again.
He has long black hair that goes past his shoulders with grey tips towards the end of his hair, red eyes, and Fancy clothes.
Morrigan immediately prepares to fight before I brush past her and gesture for her to wait.
"Lukas?" I call out softly.
Blood stained his clothes and his sword still sits in its sheathe.
"I knew the scent was familiar. So my older brother did survive after all," Lukas says with a cold expression on his face.
"What kind of reaction is that man? I was hoping to find you and dad," I respond with a serious, yet shocked tone.
"You don’t even look the same anymore," Lukas says while staring back at me.
I didn’t expect for him to find us before I found him... This definitely looks like quite an odd situation. I don’t even have a good way to explain anything to him yet.
Lukas has always been like this though so I know it won’t be easy.
"There is a lot to catch you up on. But I need to head for Lumiel," I reply while keeping a serious, yet calm tone.
"You want to go after the hunters, huh? I can’t say I’m surprised," Lukas says after letting out a sigh.
"I think you should tag along," I reply with a genuine tone.
"I’m going to head to a safe space for the time being. I’d like to see if Dad made it there or not before doing anything else," Lukas says while turning around.
At least I know he hasn’t run into our father yet but him going there without me feels a bit odd. I also don’t remember being told about some sort of safe space for us to fall back to.
He just told me to get away from the manor... Did he tell Lukas about something on purpose instead of telling me too?
We all should’ve known of a place to go to if the manor ever fell but I guess that isn’t going to be the case here. I’ll just have to let Lukas go on his own.
He isn’t weak by any means since it looks like some trouble came to him already.
"You going to be okay? I also need to know where this place is?" I ask with a curious tone.
"It is a small shack north of the manor, it looks abandoned but inside a bookcase will lead you to a secret staircase. Follow that when you get there," Lukas responds before walking off.
Talk about a short lived reunion. I don’t blame him for heading to find Dad first but I’d rather deal with this hunters first. Then there won’t be any problems for a good while here.
The continent will be safe for vampires until more hunters are sent. That’s why I’m hoping to get some answers in Lumiel so that I can track the others down.
"Thanks Lukas, stay safe out there," I say calmly.
"You too Dante. I’ll be waiting for you there," Lukas replies.
I watch as he walks out of the cave, feeling a bit of relief after all that. The girls seemed a bit on edge for a moment until they realized what was happening.
But regardless it is time to leave, especially now that we know there is no danger around us.
So I lead the way since we no longer need any guidance from Morrigan.
"It feels so good to see the forest again," Amelia speaks up with excitement in her voice.
"I agree. Being in that cave was kind of suffocating, no offense to you Morrigan," Lia replies in agreement.
"Don’t worry about it. I think it is nice to be able to come out after so long in there myself," Morrigan says with a relaxed tone.
I’m glad everyone is getting along as well. That was something I was worried about before I woke up.
Amelia and Lia were already taking some time to get used to each other but now we have Morrigan. The connection between them all seem to be pretty good so far though.
"Are you sure you don’t want to follow your brother now?" Lia asks while standing in front of me.
"Huh? Yeah, I’m fine with meeting him later," I answer after realizing what was going on.
I was busy thinking about the relationship between them all.
