17: About Gaming
"Yesterday our A-point decision was still too conservative. There were only two people on the other side, yet it took us five minutes to push through."
Although it was a weekday morning, Leticia, being social waste, was still staying home discussing various gaming matters with her gaming teammates.
Like right now, she was reviewing last night's guild war.
"But the opponent was that 'Lightning,' who's best at using fewer numbers to delay time, and at that time the troop situation on the other route wasn't clear. I think being conservative wasn't wrong." Yesterday's A-route commander offered his opinion.
"Yeah, and then we almost collapsed." Leticia said helplessly. "If the enemy healer hadn't made a positioning mistake and gotten taken out by our combo, yesterday's match would have been dangerous for us."
"Indeed... if it weren't for you, Sister Qian, seizing that opportunity, yesterday's result would have been really hard to say."
"Apple's style is just like that—steady, doesn't dare take risks." Another member who participated in the guild war said. "Yesterday's decision was already the most aggressive he could manage."
"Speaking of aggressive commanders, we do have a few in the guild, but they've only commanded lower branch teams. They'd probably have trouble adapting to diamond-tier battle rhythm."
Once one person spoke up, other guild members also opened up and offered their opinions.
Their guild could be considered first-rate in the game, with almost all members being veteran players.
"Speaking of which, where's the Guild Leader? Haven't seen her online these past few days." Leticia thought of that Guild Leader with a nice voice. "I still want her to gift me a Demon God Sword."
When that lady had pulled Leticia into the guild, she had promised that if Leticia wanted anything in the game, she could just ask and she'd cover everything.
Well, now Leticia had her eye on the recently released Demon God Sword. The price wasn't too expensive—just the cost of one order.
"Guild Leader? After hearing the news about Stellar Sword Saint's resignation, she cried for a whole day and is probably still shutting herself away." A guild member who knew the inside story explained. "Sister Qian, why don't you go comfort her?"
It was quite interesting—there were only two girls in Leticia's guild: herself and the Guild Leader.
All the others were male, which meant that sometimes Leticia, who had been recruited as labor, still had to go chat with the Guild Leader.
Though Leticia didn't mind chatting with cute ladies.
As for whether the other party might be a voice-changing master?
Impossible!
Leticia trusted her judgment. Her Guild Leader was definitely a cute and wealthy little rich lady.
"Nothing to comfort about. It's just the Sword Saint retiring, not dying." Leticia expressed that she had no special feelings about the Sword Saint's retirement.
If the Sword Saint had actually died, she would definitely set off three big strings of firecrackers to celebrate. Unfortunately, this Sword Saint was living right above her.
"People have their own lives. Look, when has the Sword Saint had any rest these past years? The Sword Saint is also human, not a machine. Even machines need rest after working so long, right?" Leticia said good things about Bai Ling against her will.
She really didn't like Bai Ling, but directly saying good things about Bai Ling's retirement in front of these humans might get her strung up and beaten by angry guild members.
In the human world, people couldn't stand seeing great heroes like Bai Ling being casually insulted or slandered.
"By the way, I'll tell you a secret—the Sword Saint is actually a very beautiful girl."
Hearing Leticia's words, everyone laughed. "Sister Qian, stop joking. The Sword Saint is definitely male."
"Yeah, yeah, how could the Sword Saint be a girl?"
"If the Sword Saint is a girl, I'll perform a solo battle against the Troll God on the spot."
The United Government's propaganda had indeed been effective. In almost everyone's mind, Stellar Sword Saint was male, which made Bai Ling's identity almost impossible to expose.
Leticia, with her legs propped on the edge of the table, shook her head. Her guild members wouldn't even believe the truth—too blind.
"I'm not lying to you. Miss Sword Saint looks quite distinctive, with a great figure. Too bad her personality isn't great." Leticia said jokingly.
"Qianqian, you've seen the Sword Saint?" Just as Leticia was speaking eloquently, a quiet voice came through the headphones.
"Guild Leader, you're here."
"Good morning, Guild Leader."
"Guild Leader!"
The suddenly appearing female voice was one of the subjects they'd just been discussing—Leticia's Guild Leader.
Her question made Leticia chuckle: "Heaven's secrets cannot be revealed."
"Wuu~ Good Qianqian, just tell me." The Guild Leader actually started acting cute.
But Leticia's attitude was quite firm, because she discovered that someone had suddenly appeared behind her.
If she kept talking nonsense, Stellar Sword Saint's great sword might come chopping at her.
"Cough cough, Miss Bai, what do you need?" Skillfully using her foot to exit the voice channel, Leticia lightly kicked the table, spinning herself 180 degrees to look at the white-haired girl who had appeared silently in the room.
