18: Can I Play?
"Watching you, and killing time." Bai Ling said flatly, those crimson eyes sweeping over the rather scantily dressed Leticia without producing the slightest ripple.
Leticia chuckled. "Do I look that dangerous?"
She was just an ordinary shut-in girl now, not that Demon King anymore. Fighting and killing weren't her true desires.
Bai Ling naturally nodded. In her eyes, Leticia was undoubtedly the greatest threat to the human world. If not for the fact that she had already laid down her heroic responsibilities, only one of them could be standing between her and Leticia right now.
"Speaking of which, you seem to quite like acting young." Looking disdainfully at Bai Ling wearing a student uniform, Leticia expressed her contempt for Bai Ling's young-acting behavior.
Already an old granny in her twenties, yet shamelessly wearing high school clothes—how shameless.
"Doesn't it look good?" Bai Ling turned to look at the mirror in the room. The girl in the mirror didn't look twenty-something at all.
As if time couldn't leave any traces on her body.
"It looks good, of course it looks good." Leticia didn't say anything against her will. Bai Ling's outfit was indeed quite nice.
Especially those long legs wrapped in white stockings—they were so beautiful that even Leticia felt her heart itch.
If she could lick... no, no, how could she have such strange thoughts?
She had to be upright. Yes, upright.
"I think so too." Bai Ling sat down beside Leticia's bed. "Your room is very messy."
Leticia's room could truly be called a disaster zone, with various meaningless objects scattered throughout the room—manga books, game controllers, alarm clock parts.
Perhaps she should be grateful that at least the snack crumbs and wrappers were in the trash can, and there were no dirty clothes in the room.
Though this was basically all Xue'er's contribution.
"You don't live here, so if you don't like it, get lost." Leticia was quite displeased with Bai Ling's evaluation.
It wasn't like she had begged Bai Ling to come. You came without saying anything—did she still have to give you a good attitude?
Beep beep beep... the sound of messages from the game.
Leticia turned around, deciding to ignore the annoying guy behind her.
Putting on her headphones, she heard her Guild Leader's voice: "Little Qian, take me through a dungeon."
Although the Guild Leader was wealthy, her skills were at a level slightly worse than ordinary players, so every time they ran dungeons, she liked to call Leticia over to help.
And for such small requests from her benefactor sister, Leticia naturally wouldn't refuse.
"Endless Abyss? Or Ruined Battlefield?"
"Bloody Flower Sea. I want red pigment to make clothes." The Guild Leader expressed that she had no interest in improving combat power.
"Guild Leader, can't you just cast one skill to clear that dungeon?" The only problem was that it was a level 50 dungeon, and the Guild Leader was already at the max level of 70.
Couldn't she just clear it casually?
"I'm in a bad mood and want to chat with someone." The Guild Leader's voice was very low, as if she still hadn't recovered from the news of the Sword Saint's retirement.
Sigh, Leticia inconspicuously rolled her eyes at Bai Ling. What charm did this guy have to make a girl who had never even seen her face so infatuated?
Oh right, the Sword Saint in the Guild Leader's heart was a towering great handsome man, not this expressionless stinky woman Bai Ling.
"What is the Sword Saint thinking? Why would he choose to retire at this time..." the Guild Leader muttered.
After entering the dungeon, the Guild Leader's character just stood there motionless. Those monsters naturally wouldn't pass up such good prey, so they pounced at the Guild Leader.
"The Sword Saint is a superhero. How could we know what she's thinking? All we can do is understand and bless her. She has her own life. Being a hero is just part of her life, isn't it?" Leticia operated her character to eliminate these monsters with combat power of five one by one, while saying words that sounded reasonable but were actually useless.
"You think so too?" A voice that didn't belong to the Guild Leader rang in Leticia's ear.
Leticia quickly glanced at Bai Ling and mouthed: "Fuck off."
Couldn't she tell this was official talk?
"Little Qian, is there someone else beside you?" The Guild Leader naturally heard Bai Ling's voice. "Her voice sounds very nice."
"Yeah, someone I don't get along with very well." Leticia propped her chin, showing an impatient expression. "Get lost, get lost, don't disturb my gaming."
"This game... is it fun?" If Leticia could use games to pass time, perhaps she could too, Bai Ling thought.
"Fun, of course it's fun." Leticia nodded. "I'd say humanity's greatest contribution these years has been developing this game 'Lament of the Six Realms.'"
"Can I play?"
"Ah... what?!" Leticia slowly took off her headphones, looking at Bai Ling with shocked eyes. "What did you say?"
"I said, can I play?"
