35: A Small Favor
Knock knock knock...
The closed door opened a crack, and Xue'er peered through the gap to see the white-haired girl standing outside.
How long had it been since she left? Why was she back again?
"Does Miss Bai need something?" But since the person was already at the door, Xue'er couldn't very well slam it shut.
Using the front door was giving face—if she really didn't want to give face, this person should already be in Her Majesty's room by now.
"Borrowing some soy sauce. Need to find Leticia for something." Bai Ling's tone still had no fluctuation whatsoever, like a dead person.
"Her Majesty is in her room..." Xue'er opened the door wide. The maid was currently wearing an apron, apparently preparing dinner. "As for soy sauce, I have a new bottle here. Miss Bai can just take it directly."
"Good." Bai Ling nodded, but her attention was obviously not on the soy sauce matter.
Although borrowing soy sauce was indeed the legitimate reason she had come down this time.
Because when Bai Ya was halfway through cooking, she suddenly discovered there was no soy sauce at home, so Bai Ling was sent to borrow some.
Originally, Bai Ya had planned to come herself, but when Bai Ling heard about this, she directly said she could handle such a small matter herself, so Bai Ya let her sister come instead.
As for why Bai Ling came here, it was naturally to consult Leticia, this magic master.
And also to return the book she had taken away this morning.
"Oh my god, why is the opposing assassin attacking our mage's face? Scout, scout, what the hell are you doing?"
"Wow, mage, where's your fire ring... why are you carrying fireball!"
"Archer, aim more accurately. I don't even know who you're shooting at!"
In the room, Leticia was cursing at her teammates. She just didn't understand how these guys' performance had gotten even worse than last time.
"Ah, finally won." After winning this game, Leticia collapsed in her chair as if drained of strength. She covered her face and said weakly, "Let's stop here today. If we keep playing, I'm afraid I'll have a heart attack."
"Sorry, Sister Qian, we troubled you again today." The team members all apologized to Leticia. They knew their performance today wasn't very good.
If Leticia hadn't turned the tide at the last moment, they would have lost big points today.
"Sigh, practice more. Our team's strength really can't keep up right now." Leticia said helplessly. At low ranks, she could indeed carry the team forward by herself, but at this rank, she was starting to feel overwhelmed.
So, "Where's the Guild Leader? What about the reinforcement she mentioned?"
"The Guild Leader hasn't been online all day, but she said in the group chat that she accidentally fell down the stairs and injured her hand, so she can't play games for a few days." A team member who often lurked in the chat said.
"Oh, I see." Leticia nodded knowingly. With that kind of accident, there really wasn't much they could do. "The Guild Leader is too careless."
She didn't really look at the guild chat, so she was always slow to learn about these things.
"Sigh, let's stop here for today. I'm going to eat. See you all later."
"See you later, Sister Qian."
"Bye bye, Sister Qian."
Exiting the game and taking off her headphones, Leticia turned around to look at Bai Ling, who had been standing behind her for a minute. "What?"
"Need your help."
"Hah?" Leticia raised an eyebrow. Was this bastard getting clingy, asking for favors every day?
"Little Ya... made a friend."
"Isn't that good? You called her a shut-in, so her bringing a friend home is perfectly normal." Leticia couldn't understand why Bai Ling would come to her about something like this.
Bai Ling shook her head. "That friend is a non-human, and she's using disguise magic."
An ordinary friend, even an ability user friend, Bai Ling wouldn't care too much about. But a non-human friend who was also using disguise magic—that demanded Bai Ling's attention.
"I don't understand magic deeply enough to see through that person's true appearance." Bai Ling said very calmly. "The magic that person is using is quite sophisticated."
She could see through ordinary disguise magic, but not Su Qi's.
She only knew that Su Qi was using disguise magic, but couldn't see what appearance Su Qi was hiding beneath the veil.
"Even you can't see through it?" Leticia sat up straight. Although this Bai Ling was a complete magic idiot, ordinary disguise magic couldn't fool her eyes.
"I could if I went all out, but I don't want Little Ya to notice anything unusual." Bai Ling explained. If she got serious, the scene would be enough to describe as earth-shaking. "Do you have any quick, discreet methods?"
When it concerned Bai Ya's safety, Bai Ling and Leticia immediately stood on the same side.
Leticia disliked Bai Ling, but she quite liked that girl Bai Ya.
So she would help with this favor.
"Of course I do. Let me look for it." Leticia got up and ran to a box in the corner of the room, starting to rummage through it.
A few minutes later, she joyfully held up a small box. "Found it!"
