Chapter 33

Amanda did not see anything, and she quickly point the gun at Sophia again. I stared at Amanda with a fierce glare, hoping that she would back down. She laughed and said, "Looks like you've got some balls, Derick. But you're not in a position to negotiate."

I gritted my teeth, feeling a sense of desperation rising in me. I knew I had to act fast before Sophia was harmed.

"Let her go," I growled, tightening my grip on Miranda's throat.

Amanda's smile faded, and she looked at me with a cold expression. "I don't think you understand the situation you're in, Derick. You're surrounded, and you're outnumbered. Give me Miranda, and maybe I'll consider sparing your life."

I shook my head. "I'm not giving her up. Not without Sophia."

Amanda raised an eyebrow. "You really care for her that much, huh? Well, maybe I'll just have to teach you a lesson."

She motioned to the two other black bird wolves beside her, and they stepped forward with their guns pointed at me.

But I was ready. In a swift motion, I tossed Miranda towards them, and they caught her off-guard, stumbling backwards. I took advantage of their momentary distraction and charged towards Amanda, tackling her to the ground.

We grappled for a few moments, but I managed to overpower her and pin her down. I grabbed the gun she was holding and aimed it at her head.

"Tell your followers, to back down and let us go, or I swear to god, I'll pull the trigger," I growled.

Amanda sneered at me. "You wouldn't dare. You're too weak."

I slapped Amanda, so hard that her cheek cut. Then I used the gun to knocked Amanda's out. I grabbed Sophia's hand call the attention of my members, we vanished from the scene.

After Amanda was taken inside, I couldn't contain my anger. I let out a furious scream, and my followers quickly moved to take care of her. I paced around, my blood boiling with rage, when Leah walked in. My eyes narrowed at the sight of her. "You!" I exclaimed, "What are you doing here?"

Leah looked taken aback, but she quickly regained her composure and asked my followers if they had forgotten her already. She said she was Amanda's daughter, and I felt a surge of anger rising within me. I didn't want to deal with her right now, but Leah grabbed my wrist, and mentioned my name. Then asked what am I also doing here?

My followers moved closer to her, their expressions growing more and more furious. She quickly dropped my wrist, sensing the danger.

"What's going on here?" Leah asked her mother, looking confused.

I ignored her question and told Amanda to follow me. We walked out to the garden, away from prying eyes and ears. I turned to face her and said, "Long time no see. Why did you have to show up? Your revenge is complete. Your husband and his wife are dead."

Amanda smiled and replied, "At least you should thank me for saving your life."

I lost my temper and grabbed her wrist tightly. "Don't you dare say that again," I warned her. "I am your Alpha, and it's your duty to do everything to rescue me if I'm in danger, even if it means giving your life up."

Amanda didn't seem pleased with my control, but she knew better than to argue with me. She obediently replied, "Yes, Alpha."

She then revealed that she wanted Sophia dead, but I refused. Sophia was not part of the plan from the start, and I didn't want unnecessary bloodshed. I also didn't want to see Leah in the mansion, unless she joined our pack.

Amanda promised to talk to Leah, and asked me to give her some time, to convince her to join our pack. I walked away from her, feeling relieved that I had put my foot down. I couldn't let Amanda or anyone else undermine my authority as Alpha.

As soon as I stepped out of the car, I could feel the tension in the air. Lucas was slamming the car door and stomping towards the mansion, clearly angry about something. Derick was about to open the door for me, but I stopped him and thanked him for rescuing me. I apologized for not believing him about Miranda's true identity, but he just smiled and walked inside.

Lucas was pacing around in the living room when we entered. "Lucas, what's wrong?" Derick asked, trying to diffuse the situation.

Lucas turned to him, his eyes blazing with anger. "What's wrong? What's wrong is that she put us all in danger because of her stupidity. She left the mansion without telling anyone and that's how the Black Bird Wolves Pack got to her."

I could feel the weight of his words on my shoulders. It was true, I had been reckless and now everyone was paying the price.

Derick stepped forward, trying to calm Lucas down. "Lucas, calm down. It's not entirely her fault. We should have had better security measures in place."

But Lucas wasn't listening. He turned to me and his eyes narrowed. "You are nothing but a banished, rejected wolf with no value. You don't belong here."

His words stung, and I felt like I was about to break down. I couldn't believe that he could be so cruel.

Derick wasn't having any of it. He stepped forward and punched Lucas in the face. "One more word from you and I'll forget that you're my follower."

I was shocked by Derick's actions, but at the same time, I was grateful. I didn't know what I would have done if he hadn't stood up for me.

"Stop it, both of you!" I yelled, trying to break up the fight.

Lucas looked at me with disgust. "You're nothing but a flirt. I can't believe I risked my life for someone like you."

And with that, he pushed me with his shoulder and stormed out of the mansion. The rest of the pack members followed him, leaving me alone with Derick.

"I'm sorry about him," Derick said, looking at me with sympathy. "He doesn't know how to control his temper."

I sighed, feeling defeated. "It's okay. I'm used those words."

Derick shook his head. "You shouldn't have to be. You're a valuable, and deserve to be treated right Sophia. Don't let anyone make you feel otherwise."

I smiled weakly at him, feeling a glimmer of hope. Maybe not everyone in their pack was against me after all.
