"Okay fine, I'll tell you both."
Novan's final words made Erza's smile immediately spread so wide, while Marcell himself blinked because he couldn't believe that his and Erza's persuasion would end like this. Novan had given up. Marcell still couldn't believe it, but he was happy too, of course.
Marcell, who was currently sitting on the single chair in Novan's room while folding his hands in front of his chest, was fixing his sitting position before he finally said, "Well, hurry up and explain."
Erza nodded firmly, "Be detailed if necessary, I'll really listen." After he finished, he grinned widely.
Novan let out a long sigh once again. He looked at Erza, then Marcell for the next split second. The two friends had suddenly come here, to his house, and they immediately sneaked into Novan's room.
Novan was initially confused by their presence—shocked at first—but in the end, he still welcomed them in and asked what their purpose was. And lo and behold, the answer that came out of their lips was frontal, to the point, without warning, without a prologue, an answer that completely made Novan shake his head in disbelief.
"We're here to ask you a question," Marcell said.
"It's about the girlfriend who's in your heart," Erza followed a second after Marcell's words flew through the air.
Hearing his question answered like that, of course Novan rejected it outright, but this is Erza and Marcell, both of them are really very pushy to make Novan can't stand it and in the end give up too.
"Hey, why haven't you explained yet? What are you thinking about?" asked Erza, who was currently sitting right next to Novan. Erza even patted his friend's thigh.
Erza and Novan were sitting on Novan's soft bed.
Marcell continued. "Patience, let's just wait for Novan to tell us everything, I know that he's confused about where to start."
Novan just snorted softly. "I don't know what you guys are planning, but I'll answer right now."
"We're not planning anything!" snapped Marcell quickly.
"That's right!" Agreeing with Marcell's words, Erza snapped his fingers while nodding vigorously.
"Okay, but before that you have to promise one thing. Deal?"
Marcell and Erza looked at each other for a split second, then they nodded together because of one thought.
"Okay, agreed. We won't ask anything that will make you confused or uncomfortable." Erza answered on Marcell's behalf.
"Yeah, right."
"I like Uti."
"Oh Uti." Erza nodded slowly. "Eh? What just now? Uti is our classmate?" The boy was startled himself, as if his body had just been shocked by a high-powered electric current. "Ha? How come?"
"I only know one Uti, our classmate, Uti is my girlfriend's friend, right? The one who often sits with Weeby?" Marcell was equally surprised, of course, but he was not as surprised as Erza just now. Marcell could handle it, his expression remained flat, but he was serious.
"Really, Van? That Uti?"
Novan nodded briefly.
"How come?" asked Erza again, he was very excited.
"What do you mean by asking that?" asked Novan as he glanced at Erza who was sitting next to him, his thick eyebrows drawn up.
"I mean, how come I never realized that. I didn't feel the signs," said Erza.
"And when did you start liking Uti, Van?" said Marcell.
"I already told you that I don't want to be asked these questions, you both promised me that just now, didn't you?"
"But our questions are reasonable Van, not too much, our questions are general."
Marcell's statement made Erza agree. "That's right, after all we are both your best friends, we also know the limits for sure. I and Marcell will fully support you, Van, as long as the path you take is the right one."
Novan sighed before explaining. The two friends were right too, Novan also didn't feel too objected. Finally, he revealed everything. "I don't know when I liked her." The person Novan was referring to was, of course, Uti. "I just like her, I don't know why, Uti is different from most girls, I see something special in Uti." Novan then looked at Marcell. "You also Cell, must feel that way too, right to Weeby?"
Marcell agreed, he acknowledged it with a nod of his head. "Yes, I feel that Weeby is a special girl and destined for me."
"Does that mean you were really lucky to be paired with Uti during Mr. Hockey's assignment?"
"Or did you not like Uti at that time?"
"Lucky, you could say that. And I already liked Uti."
"So what? You should ask her if you like her."
"I know what to do, I'm trying, but I think Uti is hard to approach."
Erza smiled wryly. "You're not trying hard enough, girls are like that at first, but if you don't give up and keep fighting, girls will melt for you too."
"How can you say that?" Marcell narrowed his eyes at Erza. "You're single."
"Are you mocking me or something?" Erza threw Marcell a peanut shell. "I understand, even though I'm single but I know I'm a quality single."
Marcell sneered, "Yeah, yeah, whatever you say. So find a girlfriend there!"
"Patience, I'm also trying. I also want to have a girlfriend like you. Especially since Novan will have one soon."
"I don't think Uti will accept me," said Novan.
"You haven't shot Uti yet, right?" asked Marcell.
Shaking his head slowly, Novan opened his mouth and answered. "Not yet, I still need more time."
"Well, if not why do you say that? You have to be excited, don't give up, you don't know the results yet." Erza said quickly and passionately, too excited.
Marcell was not to be outdone. "And most importantly, you have to believe in yourself." Marcell stopped talking for a moment. "And to be honest, I'm not telling the truth because I'm your best friend, Van, I'm telling the truth because it's the truth." Marcell now continued his speech, looking at Novan seriously.
Both Novan and Erza now looked at Marcell with serious eyeballs.
"What is Cell?" asked Novan.
"Whoever becomes your girfriend, she will be lucky. Look at you, your face is okay, your wallet is thick, and you are also quite popular at school. So, I think you'll find it easy to find a girl."
"And Uti would want you," said Erza.
"But that doesn't mean Uti wouldn't want a boy like me, right?"
"Hey!" Marcell stood up from his seat, walked over and took the other seat next to Novan. Marcell put his arm around Novan from the side. "You have to believe in yourself."
"Yes." Novan agreed with Marcell. "I'll listen to what you both say, thanks, okay? You're both my best friends."
"If you need help, just tell me or Marcell."
"Yes, I'll remember that too."
"And now, when do you intend to shoot Uti?" Erza asked again.
"It's good when, huh?"
"I don't know, only you know the time."
Yes, Marcell was right again.
