CHAPTER 4

"To even think I was excited to meet her and be best of friends with her, never did I for once thought I would be agreeing to a crime I didn't commit all because my father wanted me to. For what exactly? Was he so proud of her that he wants to hide her and make me take the blame?

"Should I say he should go to hell? Maybe I should" she stared back at him, looking him deep in the eyes, and with one last disgusting look, she turned around and stomped out of the place.

Catherine wiped the angry tears away and head back to her room on the next floor. She chose the room herself seeing it was empty with no one occupying it.

She stood by the window of the room staring down the estate only to see some men alighting from an SUV, each one of them armed with a gun.

Though they looked like they weren't there for an attack, Catherine couldn't help but feel pity for her father who'd be facing the consequences of Elvira's deed.

One foot of hers turned to go do what her father asked her to but the other proved stubborn, reminding her of all the things she had gone through ever since her childhood.

"Would it be wicked of me if I don't help him out, will I be happy if he dies because of my twin? Will I be happy if I didn't look him in the face to release my frustrations when all these get over? And will I be happy to know I somehow caused his death?" She asked herself, Those words kept hitting her chest but the pains of the past blinded her eyes.

Turning away from the window, she walked back to the bed and sat on it. Bringing out her phone, she thought of calling Sarah to at least hear what she has to say.

Scrolling through her phone, she stopped at Sarah's number and dialed it, it couldn't connect.

"Switched off" she groaned and threw the phone far from her, it landed at the end of the bed and luckily, it didn't fall to the floor.

She ruffled her hair frustratedly scratching it as if it would give her any answer or at least tell her what to do.

She laid on the bed, with one goal, to sleep, maybe she could evade this burning want by sleeping but after turning and groaning for what felt like hours, she accepted defeat and let out what sounded like a groan and a grunt.

Catherine stood up and adjusted her skirt which still looked impeccable, she straightened her hair using her fingers and groaned again in frustration before stepping out of the room.

Seeing how quiet everything was and the lack of security all around the estate, Aiden knew it wouldn’t be like that on the inside and he had his men who were supposed to back up get ready.

Keeping a cool front, they walked up the door before he could raise a hand to knock, the door was pulled open and he saw a man he recognized and Guero’s third in hand.

He led them to the spacious living room, or what was supposed to be the living room because it lacked furniture, save for the chair Guero was sitting on.

All Guero’s men had their weapons up, he registered ten five on his right and five on his left, three were upfront with Guero.

He knew that wasn’t even the least of them, the men there had to be at least fifty if he was correct and some were above, he couldn’t tell their hiding spots but he sure as hell could smell them. A growl rose his throat but he suppressed it.

When he received the signal his men were in place, he looked up at Guero and smiled, “Good to see you again Guero,” he watched the man’s face harden and he couldn’t help his smile broadening.

“You know the rules, no killing of my men, we stay out of your business and you stay out of ours.”

“Yes that, and you’re here to talk?” the last word came out mockingly.

“That was my intention yes but seeing your bad hospitality, you didn’t even offer us drinks or at the least bit, somewhere to seat.”

“I don’t show hospitality to people who come into my house holding M15s,”

Aiden smiled mockingly, “Oh they are making you uncomfortable?” he turned to the closest man to him, “you heard him, boys, keep your guns down.” They hesitated for a bit before doing as they were told.

He watched the slight, movement of Guero’s fingers and mind linked with his men to attack, and soon gunshots were heard.

It took a whole second for Guero to realize it wasn’t his command that was heeded to and the floor broke out in screams and sounds of bodies falling to the ground.

Having one target in mind, Aiden walked the few steps to Guero who was already on his feet, he pulled out his gun and aimed at his head ready to shoot when a body collided with his and he missed the shot, hitting him on the right side of his chest.

He regained his balance and turned to the person that collided with him, the girl was already at Guero’s side, trying and failing to stop the blood, and he held his gun again ready to finish it all when she stood up abruptly.

“Don’t kill him please, I did it, it was me who killed those men.”

He stared at her for a bit before asking.

“And who the hell are you?” the words came out breathy, he didn’t know why and he hated how his wolf was howling and clawing in his head fighting to get out.

“Elvira, I am the one that killed your men, please don’t kill my father he is innocent.” Catherine pleaded falling to the floor whilst covering her father's body with her hands.
