Chapter Epilogue

You have been reading through our lives and somehow you'll see your life in it too but then how do we come together as werewolves, humans and other forms to make this place a better place?

That's what I stand for and what drove me into all these and more that I'll be entering into in the coming days. I really don't know what you take us for and at the same time I know I think you care about us and our lives.

I also don't know what will happen next so please stop asking me. I'll say you should wait. I just received a letter and its content is disturbing my thought and my mind is breaking down because of that. Should I die too?

That being said, you know why by now how far we've gone and the fact that there are no facts alive again among humans and werewolves. Everything seems to blink and might continue like that before a break that makes one live life.

You know who I'm and how I started, you should be ready to see how I'll end. How do you want me to end or how do they think I should end here. All these don't really matter to me but then I just asked you. Do you know who I'm?

You shouldn't push it. Seatback and relax. Think of a favourite tree. I doubt you have one. You see you need to have one because I have one but I'll only share it with you if you share yours.

Say I'm selfish. Yes, I'm. We are all selfish and it's yours that is making you read this instead of doing other things. I know but don't stop reading. I wasn't trying to get you angry. That wasn't my intention.

Come to think of it, why did they kill Old Alpha?

I know you think you know and I know you don't know that I don't know.

Read on, I'm about to drop my pen. I'm about to face him. And about to find out more.

~Catherine Guero

***

I heard you've read what Catherine thinks she knows about everything happening recently in the fortress. I think that's a version of the story. The narrative has more to tell you. Don't listen to her alone. She's my love and I'm going to shock her.

She doesn't know I have arranged to shock her. Do you want to know what that will be?

Think back to the first day I met her and how she showed her inner strength. Connect it from there and you might know what's about to happen.

You might know.

You might know.

And you might still not get it. The universe is like that too.

Look inward, that's what they told us. I have been looking yet the chaos isn't ending.

~ Aiden

I'm Sarah. I shouldn't have told you that but, I don't care. I'm becoming more lonely and I need to know what's happening with my mother.

She has been away from me. I tried to get back to her but she pushes me away each time I try.

And I miss my friend too. Catherine has been busy and we've not been talking much. That's also killing me.

Now you can go away.

***

I have a lot to say, but since Elle came into my life I have become a man of shorter words. I don't know what that means but she's amazing. And now I wish I can do things like her. I want to become a werewolf. I want to be able to see further away. I want to be able to sniff better and do everything she does.

I wish to be with her forever. I don't want to be separated from her, not now not ever. She brings out the best of me and I don't think I could ever be here without her.

Now I hate death and perhaps I might fight it just to remain with her.

Though I miss Martha and lately the hound has been crazy. You probably don't even care about him.

That's bad. Say I'm judgemental. It's fine.

But, I need to tell you a short story here and now.

I have a heart tumour and I want to have a heart transplant. I want the new heart to be that of a werewolf. Do you think I should do that?

Where do I get the heart?

You are the only one that knows this. I have not told my friends.

~Sam

All I have for you is a poem. I didn't write it. I'm still figuring things out. I might be the best werewolf poet soon. It's titled odes on solitude by Alexandra pope.

I just started reading Alexandra pope and I can tell you I find him interested. How I wish I met him before he died.

I might share more poems but I don't want to bore you. People say poetry is boring. Now I laugh at them when I'm reading a poem. That day on Christopher's farm with Adam changed my life.

~Damien

***

I was depressed as a child but then I learned how to manage it by being myself and alone more in my brain. That started giving me the leverage needed to see through things.

It was my push for the change in my life and a soft pad for the change I'm about to experience.

I have no regrets for looking down on my twin sister. I don't care about her. I don't even want to know how good or whatever she's.

My goal is dominance and I'm going to achieve it. I'm. It's in the blood.

But that aside. One thing that is making me into who I'm now is the ability to read. I have read books, lots of them and sat down with John Dikkorp to dissect them and through that, I reached lots of conclusions that will be paths on my next journey.

I know most of you hate me. I'm not asking you to like me either. I'm who I'm.

But that aside. I think you should know that music is the universe and the universe is music. You should listen to lots of them. Classics…

I love music and I love observing people. Humans, werewolves and other kinds of existence are one. At some point we shared genes. That's music. It unites. Divides and unities and makes you see things for what they really are.

Life is a piece of music. Your life is a song.

I'm in my bathtub. It's dark in here. The only light is coming from my phone and slowly Bajok is playing. I like her. She has a wierd sense of what music should be. Invent it.

Life is all about bringing whatever you want to live.

And don't forget I'm bad now because I don't care about Alex's interest or anyone's interest but mine.

That is who I'm and I will remain that.

I know what you are thinking now. What is Elvira saying….?

That's what is on your mind. I won't stop you but make sure you know yourself. It'll help you navigate through the world.

Thank you!

~Elvira

Just like the first day Catherine entered Smallsville, like the first day the missile entered Smallsville, the dead packs are growing and Old Alpha is laughing and they are entering Smallsville.

He looked to his side and found Danny, Sam's father, and Georgina urging him on.

The wind whirl like a sad genie and moved past trees making them laugh and at the same time shiver. It has been raining nonstop and they've been able to regenerate their skins and add some weights to what they had before.

They continued moving and slowing down along the road leading to Smallsville like soldiers ready for anything and ready to take everything from the people they will be meeting.

Old Alpha laughed again and hugged Danny.

"Danny Young, we are going to kill your son first."

All of them laughed.

"I don't care if he dies. I just don't care." Danny said.

"I'll then kill my daughter, Elizabeth. She's there too. I'll make hers a slower death. Since she's still alive we have nothing much to do with her."

The laughing continued. Some started dancing like they are pantomiming.

Georgina signalled to Lillian to come forward. She ran toward them anxiously. It's like she didn't wake well from her grave. Like she longs to get back in.

"Are you joining us, Lillian?" Old Alpha said. Lillian nodded smiling lightly. She obviously looked too happy as she was slightly shaking from happiness.

"Yes but I don't know what I'll be doing." She muttered scratching her hair.

"What?"

All of them laughed.

"She's with me," Georgina said. "We were killed the same day."

"Oh, is that why she doesn't know what she'll be doing?"

"Let her be, Old Alpha. She'll get to know, sooner. It's still raining. Her head needs to get charged first."

"Charged?!" Old Alpha shouted.

They all laughed.

"She has some batteries then," Danny said.

"You shut up there before I slap' your remaining teeth out of your mouth."

Old Alpha laughed and shouted. "You guys should laugh."

They all started laughing and it continued raining then he stopped and frowned his face.

"If she remains unchanged from now, we'll have to kill her."

"What?" Georgina said.

"I have spoken." Old Alpha said.

The laughing continued stronger than before and the rain became stronger too.

Elizabeth sighed and looked up at the double-barrel gun in her hand. She thought about why she needed to be on her way to Alpha's room.

She thought about why she needed to kill him.

She thought about her father and how kind he was to everyone around him.

She thought about why would someone kill him.

She thought about why it was the Alpha who killed him.

She sat there with the double-barrel in her hand thinking of what to do next.

***

"I have told you, guys, my daughter dies slowly. She's going to whimper and I won't pity her."

"Stop telling us."

"We don't want to know. Keep it to yourself."

"Ours is to know when we are going to start eating them up."

"Yeah, we need to know that. I'm hungry for human's and werewolves' blood."

"We just need to get there and start digging. Those folks should know what we are made of."

"Whatever it's you'll have to wait. I'm the Alpha here and I'm saying, we're not attacking now. We need to plan first. I know you all are dumb."

***

The rain is falling hard on them and they are planning to enter Smallsville. Why are they planning that? Who is giving them the backings?

Christopher's farm was the first they reached because of its closeness to the deep forests, and because they saw someone ploughing the land and singing. It was earlier in the morning. The sun isn't out yet and the saw could still be seen in the sky.

They walked up to the singer, she was Paul and one of Christopher's grandchildren. He was in his early twenties and had just gotten married to Mary the daughter of Maxwell, a medical doctor in Smallsville's general hospital.

The weather was good for business so Paul continued to work and sing. He wasn't looking back at the vast lands before him. He's seen them several times and each wonders why would the werewolves and humans sometimes fight for lands when they have them in abundance. Then he concluded that people generally want comfort but are not ready to work hard for what they want.

He shakes his head, his brows was wet and his forehead has already begun showing weakness. He stood up and walked towards the pen.

"I should rest now," he said and sat down. He was drinking water when he started hearing the sounds of his legs coming toward him. He thought it might be Adam pranking him again. He smiled and turned to see if it was him but before he could drop his head, his throat was slit open and blood gushed out. He held his neck and looked up at the face who did that to him.

The face was smiling. He was puzzled even while dying. The face smiled and moved away from him. Quickly he joined the others and was laughing.

The face was the chainsaw man's face. He made his first kill and they were happy for him.

Old Alpha, jumped around dancing like a dervish then stopped and said.

"You have done what no one here has done since we've been moving into this city. Come here."

The chainsaw man walked up to him. Danny shouted.

"Go on your knees, fool."

All of them laughed. He did too and fell to his knees.

"You have done well and because of that, you'll be knighted. Everyone, I proclaim him the first Knight of Smallsville."

They all shouted.

"He had done what no one here could do. He killed the farmer's boy. He was brave. He's a man. He's my man."

He smiled and shouted.

"It's time for you to start killing but I will advise you to do so at night. That's when you can steal like a bat. That is when it'll be hard to mess up. Now, let's get back to the warehouse."

"So, it all starts tonight?" Danny asked.

"Yes, foolish Danny, it starts tonight."

"But he killed him first. You said, my son goes down first. What's happening? Why are you changing your rules? "

"Foolish Danny, you should keep your mouth shut. Just keep it shut. That's simpler to do."

Danny walked away crying. He wanted Sam to die first and not the farmer's boy. He wanted to see Sam whimper to his death because he wanted to smile.

They went back into hiding after that because it was getting to the time the sun will be out. That should not meet them or else it'll be worse than what vampires experience from the sun. They are a pack of dead werewolves with one human among them. They are out to take revenge. They are going to be around longer and Old Alpha is ready to make sure that happens. He's mad.

"Hey, are you done there?" Christopher said, holding his pipe in his right hand. He walked into the farm and saw that he has cleared the part they needed to start planting the new seeds. He has gotten bred of pumpkin seeds and he is going to plant them.

"Hey, are you done with the job? Your brother is waiting for you.

"Are you hearing me? Or you just don't wanna respond?"

He walked deeper into the farm but couldn't find him. Had it been he followed the pen sidewalk he could have found him dead in the weeds. He walked gently back into the house. The sun has started coming up.

"Can't find your brother?" He asked looking sideways.

"Perhaps he went for a walk. You know he likes that." He added and I sighed.

"Yeah, I know but then he should be informing us before he goes out. Now I don't know when he's gonna be back."

"Let's hope he comes back soon."

"Alright, pass me the lighter. I need to get stuffs done here. And how is it going with you and Damien? He asked as he collected the lighter.

"Oh, the new poems are coming up fine."

"That's good. I hope you guys will read them to us soon. Can't wait to listen to you both."

"Thank you grandpa. This means a lot to me."

"I told you I'll always support you guys. That's what I'm here for. You get the support needed here."

"Thank you, grandpa. I have always want to be the best in all I do. I hope things go well as I am trying"

"They will surely go well" he muttered and trotted off.
